But really, both these were captured while I was flexing. No way in hell the pic on the right is truly ‘relaxed’...instead ‘relaxed’ in a sense where I’m not actually throwing a pose.

This “relaxed tension” look is how you should be approaching your deadlifts, as they are the cornerstone to any god-like back. Keep that tension throughout the back and execute the lift...Command that back to grow 😤

STRENGTH | it is more than just physical. Being able to squat a shit ton of weight doesn’t mean anything if you cannot pick yourself back up of the floor when you’re down and out. Being able to do 50 pull ups doesn’t mean shit if you can’t handle curve balls that life throws at you.
Sometimes we focus so much on our physical strength that we forget to work on our mental and spiritual strength.
I was guilty of that.  I drowned myself in the gym without exercising the other parts of strength and it was evident.  I let people dictate my emotions.  I avoided certain conversations and situations. I strayed from God’s word and the path he beautifully created for me.
I took a step back from my physical strength and fitness a couple months back and focused on my spiritual and mental strength and it has made a huge difference in my spirit, my relationships, my work, and my overall JOY.

From @evolve.nation -  What transformed my core the most recently was integrating 1-2 days dedicated specifically to the core region. 
Rather than saving core for the end of your workout and mixing whatever you feel like doing, start devoting a day to just core, just as you would for back or leg day.
Train your core as a whole and ALWAYS do the exercises you don’t feel like doing because chances are that’s where there’s the most room for improvements.

What transformed my core the most recently was integrating 1-2 days dedicated specifically to the core region. 
Rather than saving core for the end of your workout and mixing whatever you feel like doing, start devoting a day to just core, just as you would for back or leg day.
Train your core as a whole and ALWAYS do the exercises you don’t feel like doing because chances are that’s where there’s the most room for improvements.

As you can see, the top one photo (black and white) was taken from the book of The practice manual ashtanga yoga by the legendary David swenson. David was my first ashtanga teacher. The below photo is the version which has been practiced now by most ashtanga practitioner. Now which version is more accesible for you 😅? For me I found David’s version or the old one is more accesible (holding kneecap with head on the toes) and it is easy to come up. 30 second clock:

That's right, officially I am now down 75lbs from my highest and 49lbs from surgery day 3 months ago. The progress is slowing down some but the pounds are still coming off. Life is throwing curve balls in every direction and I'm hoping they slow down soon. I'm over halfway to my end goal, I'm hoping to make it by the start of next year. But I'm not putting a time on this because I know stalls are going to happen and I know I've already come so far. I will reach that end goal I have no doubt about it! This tool that Dr. Smith gave me is something I will forever be grateful for. There truly isn't enough words to say just how thankful I am that I have been given this opportunity. If anyone tries to think that this is an "easy" way out, then you truly need to do some research. This has been by far harder than any "diet" I've ever done. Each day has it's own struggles but each day gets better. If you've ever thought of doing this for yourself, start the process NOW it worth every single thing I've gone through.
