Members of the Washington Calligraphers Guild were inspired by surrealist and surrealist-era writers and poets for their Strathmore exhibition. Today's artwork is "Drink Deep" by Pat Blair, based on the first stanza of Song of Quietness by poet Robinson Jeffers. Drawing on the water language in the poem, Pat's cool-toned letters are fluid and sinewy, and the lines follow a waving path over a beautifully minimal blue stroke.
