My Burger let down and other drivel. ☹️ And then I remembered!!! Hit the drive through after work. The most pleasant part of my day, well, what stands out after a trying day, not work related, was the mind blowing, pleasantness of the woman on the microphone!! She sounded like she really enjoys her job. So cheery but not a phoney kinda cheery. And face to face, even better!! Thank you drive through lady!! But I digress. Get home to enjoy my lettuce wrap and it’s a couple of leaves of lettuce that just didn’t look appetizing. I’ve had better. Presentation matters. And then I remembered!!!! I had a Smart Bun in the freezer!!! Woot woot!! If measuring total carbs or net carbs, this fits my macros regardless. Black coffee throughout the day kept me going until this burger. I work 8 days in a 2 week period and on those days I intermittent fast. Easily. This has been my routine for about 7 months or so. Although, if I get hungry during the day ~ rarely happens ~ I eat. I don’t deprive myself. I don’t restrict myself. IF is just easy to do when I work. Days off, I find I eat at times out of boredom. KWIM? Anyway, that’s my burger story. It almost, almost negated the hatred and venom boiling through my veins, directed at all the other drivers on the roads and highway. All of the slow drivers that move like it’s a Sunday and they’re just out for a scenic tour!! There should be a law that if you don’t need to be on the road Monday- Friday during regular work hours, stay home. Take a bus. Walk. Get out of my way!! Too much?! 🤷🏼♀️ I won’t even talk about hitting EVERY red light. And exhale. Now back to your regular scheduled program!! 😆 #adayinthelifeofJacki#burgerrescue#smartbuns#slowdriverscauseaccidents#redlightnightmares#okayiamdonenow#thanxforlistening 😝
I get pedicures as often as needed. Growing up, my mom had thousands of nail polishes. She always had perfectly maintained feet. Toe rings, ankle bracelets and beautiful nail polish (usually some beautiful navy color) because of this- if my toes are messy I feel naked. Funny, I know, because I have "flintstone feet". Being the biggest girl in the salon I am always self conscious.
What is self care for almost every women is a spot of insecurity for me.
Random- by one of my many "whys"

I've been doing Intermittent Fasting off and on since I started working at 4Balance Fitness back in May. I decided 6 weeks ago that I was going to eat strictly. I've been eating from noon-8 every day. I maintained the same type of workouts. I didn't follow any real food plan. Tried to eat more whole foods than processed, but other than that, I ate whatever sounded good. Literally all that was changed was sticking to that window. The results are 5" and 5 pounds lost in 6 weeks! I also feel better, and my runs have gotten faster! I'd be happy to answer any questions or chat about how you can do it, too!
We always have wings for lunch or dinner but I wanted to do something a little different as far as the side item with them. Went to the freezer and cabinets to see what I could find. Found a half bag of shrimp and an unopened bag of riced cauliflower in the freezer and found an unopened bag of real bacon bits and a cup of minute brown rice in the cabinet. Added some butter, garlic powder and seasoning salt to the shrimp and steamed them then cut into small pieces, sautéed the cauliflower in olive oil and minced garlic then added the rice, shrimp and bacon bits to the pot with the cauliflower. Green chives, a few more herbs and spices and voila-shrimp and bacon cauliflower rice was born! Turned out yummy!! Will definitely make again!
