Clawing my way to the weekend | As many of you know, I used to live in Japan. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about my time there and I’m confident I’d like to move back there someday. The 2020 Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo and I’m hoping to secure a volunteer spot. It will be the first time that my favourite sport, karate, will be included in the Games. I’m also part of a Japanese Taiko drumming group. Moral of the story, I love Japan.
I’ve continued studying Japanese, slowly but surely, while working full-time and doing seemingly a billion other activities. It’s one of the ways I keep my life “international” even when I’m home in Toronto. Anyway, I recently decided to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) this December. So, for the next 23 weeks, my life will be consumed with flash cards, textbooks, notebooks, endless kanji and the slow crawl towards the exam. Wish me luck! #thisglobalcitizen
How many languages do you speak? Any language learning tips? If you could learn one language, which one would you choose?
First day in Yellowstone was amazing! 7 mile hike around the Yellowstone Grand Canyon, to this beautiful view. Also shoutout to my parents for being this adorable still 😍. #idratherbeexploring#yellowstone#optoutside
