Antibiotics Vs Strep throat day 1. .
I am not one to rush to the doctor, and I dislike antibiotics ... but I know they have a place. Like when the 👩⚕️ opened my mouth and said “Good lord woman.” 🙈🤒 😬🤣 #sorrytonsils . I AM on antibiotics ... just need soothing in the mean time ☺️
Anyways .... I was reading that chocolate ice cream 5 to 6 times a day not only soothes, but also helps you get better more quickly 🤷🏻♀️👌🏻 😜 😉 whacha think?!? Seems legit right????? .
But actually ... what are your tried and true natural remedies for a ridiculously sore throat. 😢

Oh how standards change. With the Biggest Boy it was all no sugar until you're 10, TV is out until you 5th birthday and you will have a sleep routine that is stuck to no matter what. This one, well he's ice cream for breakfast washed down with a glass of Coca Cola binge viewing of Hey Duggee and sleep when you want pal! Jokes obvs. Standards have slipped but I promise there's not Coca Cola for breakfast!

Slipped down the stairs at soccer, literally dragging his mouth along the ground 😫
The coaches from soccer were amazing and ran to our needs, even bought Trav an icy pole (which he refused). Trav very quickly realised that if he bit down on the gauze putting pressure on it then the blood would slow down. It was really amazing that he figured it out. .
Once we got home, which can I tell you, was very hard to carry Trav and try to get the other 3 in the car, or anywhere near the car for that matter! A lovely fellow Mumma saw my struggle and picked up Rex and helped bring the other boys to the car! Amazing! Thank you 🙏
Anyway once we got home he asked for an icy pole, I only had a ice cream 🙄 luckily the ice cream was good enough!
He’s sounds asleep, but boy does it look painful! Little man! So swollen!

@breyers ice cream is the choice I would make, THE WHOLE TUB has ONLY 350 CALORIES!! Where as the higher calorie counterpart has 209 kcals in only 2 scoops! 😱 Breyers having only 9.3g fat per TUB, again beating the competition which has 11g per 2 scoops! •
Now I’m not saying eat the whole tub but in theory when comparing the 2, your portion size can be considerably bigger leaving you much more satisfied! #icecreamforthewin
No school today! 🙌 We decided on an impromptu trip to Point Defiance Zoo to check out the new aquarium. They invited a couple friends and we loaded up for the adventure. It was the perfect PNW day and we apparently weren’t the only ones with this perfect Friday plan! Haha I’ve never seen the parking lot so crowded in my life!! But the great news was once we got a parking spot and got inside it didn’t feel overly crowded. The kids were great and had a total blast! We’ve had a zoo membership for years and we have a tradition every time we head home to hit up McDonald’s for ice cream. Truth be told this started because I couldn’t handle the dipping dots prices at the zoo. 😳 Haha Now it’s something everyone looks forward to after each visit.

Making the most of our tome together as a family and being present, in the moment, is something we have to focus on, just like anything else. If it’s important, you find a way. And if not- you work every day to be better than you were the day before.
I’m no perfect mother or wife, but I’m striving to remember that each day is an opportunity to serve these guys better than the day before!

My favorite snack of all time, besides cookies 😝😂 I felt it was really important to post this pic because I feel that so often we see a snack that is a healthier option.. but we turn it into an excuse to overeat that particular snack. (Guilty many times🙋🏻♀️) It’s important to moderate and portion out some of your foods so that you can become smarter with how much you consume. 🖖
That doesn’t mean starve either. I have 1 of these containers filled a day with 6 other containers that are larger and have those filled multiple times a day. #foodbaby Do I always follow them? Not always, sometimes I know what my body wants/needs some days and that’s ok!
But it’s also ok to moderate guys. Learn what you should and shouldn’t consume.. with a big helping of ice cream here and there 😝❤️
So what if I’m stuffed to the gills but still somehow always manage to save a spot for ice cream? So what if I drove 30 minutes each way, with a cooler and a bunch of ice packs, to get hubs the good stuff for his birthday?
