@pizzaexpress is definitely up there when it comes to catering for coeliac disease, allergies & intolerances! Especially now with their new gluten free & vegan dessert (details on my previous post!). All gluten free pizzas come out on a black board so you don’t have to worry & I went for one with vegan cheese, olives, artichoke, red onion and mushrooms, with a side of gluten free doughballs (dairy free without the garlic dip) and a pink G&T, perfect combo💛

Last night I made a quick bowl of veggie goodness using up some leftover sweet potato (which I roasted), avocado, tomato, quinoa and @mashdirect carrot and parsnip fries served with fried halloumi. 🥑🍠🥕🍅Simple but delicious.
Today’s plans are to clean the house, catch up on some blogging (are there any recipes you’d like to see?!) then chill in the garden for a barbecue and some Hortus rhubarb and ginger gin👌🏼How’s your Saturday looking?
Barracuda on the beach 🐠 a completely different Sri Lankan meal from the last week, but still delicious and fodmap friendly!
There’s one item on the menu every night at the idyllic @amantabeachresort. The ingredients are bought from the market every morning and it’s prepared fresh. I was made a whole different garlic & onion free version, which I think was even more delicious than the original (not that I tasted it..just guessing 😋)
Barracuda, mustard dressing, curried jackfruit, quinoa and a purple purée. Yum. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the #nilaveli area.
Can you tell I like granola? I always make my own because I can make sure there are no nasties hiding in it like most store bought kinds, I can customize it to exactly how I want it (normally that just means putting in chunks of dried mango) and its waste free. Hi guys! 👋 I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me and why I started this page. I am very passionate about health and fitness and wanted to share some of my tips and recipe inspiration to hopefully help others follow a healthy, happy lifestyle. 🔅
My health obsession started when I discovered that I had IBS and PCOS. When I asked doctors how I could overcome or help relieve symptoms of both these conditions they were quick to prescribe drugs or just brush me off and say there is nothing I can do and will have to deal with these forever. This was very disheartening so I decided to do research of my own and also saw a naturopath. I have since realised that both these conditions are closely linked to what we consume and I could minimise symptoms by following a healthy diet and lifestyle. 🔅
I now mainly follow a paleo diet (where possible); avoiding gluten, dairy, fructose and refined sugar. I have never felt healthier and now have much less stomach issues. 🙌
I still eat out occasionally and will sometimes eat dairy or gluten as I don’t want to restrict myself at social settings.I do believe balance is the key! 🔅

The next subject in the #30daysofgentleparenting challenge is about supportive friends or family members. And I couldn't help myself from laughing when I read that.
When I suffered most from #anxiety I was told to stop that nonsense. When my stomach went completely crazy with #ibs#irrirableboweldisease I was told: "that is because you eat so much junk and never excersice!" Even though no one knew how much I tried everything with my diet, my workout and so on to get my body in balance. When my #scoliocis is bothering me and my #back hurt like hell. Well they had an explanation for that as well. So was I surprised when I told my family that I would fire my boss and be a #homeworkingmom , that they was not that kind of supportive? No not at all. But here is what I did. I start looking for people LIKE me. In FB-groups, on Instagram and in my own city. So so happy to be back in the gym today!! The sun came out for me too and you probably all know by now how much happier I am soaking up those warm rays ☀😁 I did really well considering I had a tough week with lots of work, a sick kiddie (he has chronic #IBS ), and other dramas.
When I put my leggings on today they were loose around my waist, though freshly washed, which normally shrinks them. I'm thinking and feeling like I've lost a little weight. 🤔
This can be good and bad, happy to lose some cm off my waist but that usually comes with muscle loss as well when food and workouts are off, bummer.
I decided to jump on the positive, liking the 'less' feeling of my tummy, even knotting my tank while working out to show off!🙊😋 No 6-pack yet but baby steps.
My shoulders have def lost some muscle, they just look flat now so I smashed out an extra full routine today for them. Threw in some landmines for the first time, I love them!! I still have a bit of a hammy sweep and my biceps popped up to say hi, so not too much muscle loss thankfully 🙏 (check my IG Stories 🔝)

Yesterday I devoured a #turkeyburger 🍔, with a beetroot brioche bun, turkey pattie 🦃, cheese 🧀, tomato 🍅, lettuce 🌱 and mayo for lunch. Simple, cheap (only €3.5!) delicious and #lowfodmap 🙏🏽. My #IBS pains have flared up over the past week in Greece, so I can no longer eat a gyro for lunch everyday! I can eat small amount of dairy and I can tolerate wheat, but it’s hard to find food in Greece that doesn’t contain hidden onion or garlic ❌. Only after eating a gyro 🌯 everyday for a week and having my #IBS attacks flare up (sharp abdominal pains, nausea and bloating) did I realise that tzatziki and the meat in yiros are loaded with #garlic !! (I couldn’t taste it) 😔. Travelling and trying to stick to a low fodmap diet has been tricky at times given the language barrier. At times I have been hesitant to ask if a meal contained onion or garlic with the fear of being perceived as “difficult” or simply I just could not be bothered to deal with the language barrier (because I was too hungry 😅). As a result I have suffered a few IBS attacks the past 2 weeks.
My IBS symptoms have decreased dramatically since finishing up at work nearly 2 months ago (probably due to a decrease in stress levels). For a good month and a half I did not suffer from nausea and sharp abdominal pains every morning, so I became slack on sticking to the low fodmap diet. The IBS attacks I suffered during the last 2 weeks have been a friendly reminder that my body doesn’t tolerate garlic and onion 😭. #nourishwithkim

I was told I wouldnt have SIBO as my only symptoms are intense bloating/discomfort/gut related distress/anxity and indigestion from low stomach acid.
I did not meet the other common symptoms of burping, gas, constipation, diarrhea, food sensitivities, skin rashes... Etc
If you have been told you have IBS and you just have to manage it... Just take a SIBO breath test to be sure. Chances are 'its not in your head', and NO! Antidepressants will not fix it because there IS AN UNDERLYING CAUSE
