Didn't think after the first day that it could get any better. Boy was I wrong. Day two started out a little later than we planned to make up for some much needed sleep. We got the day started and rolled out to our first stop which was Reykjadalur Valley. A hot spring River! The thought of it alone is mind blowing but the experience was even more so. You start up 2 mile trail surrounded by small plumes of steam erupting from the earth. As you get closer you come across waterfalls, boiling vats, and beautiful mountains. Over the last leg you stumble upon the BEAUTIFUL walking docks covered in ice and snow. Keep in mind it is winter here in Iceland and temps are below freezing. The stream is inviting and after finding our spot we quickly got in. Sitting in a warm stream in the middle of the mountains should be on everyone's bucketlist! The best part was that was just the start of our day, and what a start it was!
As you reach the top of the trail, you walk gloriously across the bridge. You can't really see where you're going, and it smells so badly that you don't really want to breathe.
But then the mist parts, and you receive your prize.
