The greatest transformation you will ever see on social media
This the last week of the Appalachian Trainer Face Off.
I am going to try my best, through all sorts of emotions (gratitude, joy and even a touch of sadness) to share the stories as they began with us juxtaposed to where they are today with their trainers.
2.5 years ago, Sansa was rescued in Marion County, West Virginia.
I did not believe for a moment that, if she lived, she would thrive and end up a sound, healthy and rideable horse.
Mostly, I didn't think she would live.
It wasn't just that she was emaciated, it was that she was a yearling and stunted to the point recover to full health seemed impossible. Her legs were deformed. She had pneumonia.
I really didn't see how her life could end up full and healthy at all.
An aco contact found a foster for us in Marion because transporting her seemed too risky.
We sent the ever awesome Dr. Clara Ann Mason to see her hours away from her practice area.
Sharon Puccio worked hard for weeks to stabilize her and believed in her.
Finally, she was stable enough to come to HOP about 8 weeks later, and while she still had a long way to go, it was clear she would recover fully and thrive.
Now, she is a smart, wonderful partner undersaddle with multiple people having applied to bid to adopt her this Saturday.
Her potential is endless.
Thank you to the donors, supporters, fosters and the TRAINER (Brenda Hanson) who made this possible.
Thank you many times over.
Swipe over. Your mind will be blown.
🍀www.springlover.cz🍀
She lovess playing like this and it's honestly my greatest achievement with her. Being able to take her out into a big paddock with no halter or anything (tho I didn't in this clip) and having complete trust in her that she won't run away or eat grass is so cool! Even though it's taken my ages it's so rewarding, although occasionally she'll get a little close in my personal space but she respects my hand when tell her to back off which is super important 🤗
