Literally, our room is like a dorm 😂 I ain’t mad though because we got a killer price for it and hey, we are only here to sleep 😴

Just because I had a tiny space to workout doesn’t mean jack. I could still workout. Played the workout on my phone and had about 8 feet by 4 feet to get the workout in. No problem in my world 😉 
Woke up this morning got all set up and pressed play. Had to make some modifications (due to space 😂) but still got that ish done 🙌🏻 Ain’t no excuses in my world. Period.

Now to go enjoy the city 💕

Nothing like an Insanity Fit Test on a Monday morning on little sleep (thanks to Libby Doll waking repeatedly). I am impressed with the non-scale victories I’ve achieved during this program and that even when I am not my best I continue to show improvements in the test each week. 
Month 2 is now beginning so I better get my diet in check to get some victories on the scale ahead of the holidays.

Med ball throws to STRETCH the chest! I have such a bad habit of crunching At the end of my throw instead of stretching across! Having my dad drop the ball helps create reaction like you need in your throw. Muscle reaction is key, and there is no way to train it without reps! Remember throw with your armpits here not elbows! Keep your feet on the ground to help produce whole body connection!

Whoever said that a woman can not be strong and can not hold her own in an activity where men dominate do not know the women in my challenge group.  Yes, physically they may be stronger, but these woman kick a** every single day and I couldn’t be more proud of them.  They push themselves and each other to places they didn’t think they could get to.  Back in my younger years, the skinny, scrawny weak me would never have thought I could lift the weights I do now or build any muscles....anywhere.  Yes...I was “skinny shamed” a lot.  Negative comments, whatever they are, are not what young people should be hearing as they are trying to still find themselves.  If only I could talk to that young lady now, I could have given her the confidence she needed💕. Building our young women up is what we need to do and I’m glad to be that example for my young girls and for my boy too, for that matter.  I’m blessed to be surrounded by positive people including all the men in my life and very supportive men in the challenge groups too!! They rock as well!! So here’s to a great Monday as we kick off yet another challenge group!  Here’s to more goal crushing and to more successes!! So I should be starting phase 2 but going to re take the last week of phase 1 of the programme 80day obsession!

The rest of the week suffered from sickness bug! But I’m back to it and miss the workouts like crazy! Hamstrings are one of those muscle groups people have trouble isolating without access to a full gym. Overloading with compound exercises(squats,pulls,presses) is enough to see gains in size and strength but accessory work is necessary for warming up as well as finish movements, pumping those muscles full of blood. As long as youve got a flat, somewhat solid, raised surface to lay on(bench,couch,bed etc.) and a dumbell of 20lbs or higher then lying hammy curls are always an option. Squeeze the dumbell between your feet keeping your toes togeather to ensure the dumbell is locked in and scoop it up as you lay belly down on your bench(whatevers available). Ensure your knees are just slightly off the surface to allow for the motion to take place, lower the dumbell as far as you can stretch without dropping it. When curling the dumbell up, stop short of 90° to keep all the tension on the hamstrings throughout the set. Week 3 Day 1... not every workout is pretty, but it gets done! I’m so routined to workout every day without question! Some days my body doesn’t want to workout... but how I feel after my workout trumps any excuse of doubt! .
It took me awhile to enjoy anything that had to do with sweating! As a high school athlete I despised running and that’s what I would always go back to! But I found- my body loves weights! 🏋🏼‍♀️ and thank goodness for that! I also love knowing what I’m doing instead of wasting time in a gym to not see results 🤔

Back at it again after a full on rest day! 
Maximus Body!
Block 1 - Week 3 - Day 1
Warmup, Max Test, Finisher, Cooldown 
Warmup: Quick Warmup 
1. Easy-Pace 5 min run - 0.5 Miles in 5 min
2a. Air Squat
2b. Jump Squat 
2c. Wall Sit 
2d. Lunge
2e. Frog Hop 
2f. Split Jump 
2g. Burpee 
30 second for each move with 15 Sec rest in between. Do two rounds. 
This wasn’t terrible. I still struggle with any of the plyometric moves for a full 30sec. I was also interrupted by a young republican dropping off propaganda. He was..... interesting. I was .... polite. 
Max Test: Back Squat - once again foiled by lack of a rack. However, I was able to hang Clean more weight than previously I accomplished when I did the front squat Max Test. Sooo, Improvement there.  Last video is 110lbs.  I’ll never be able to clean what I can squat though. So until I hit a gym or buy a rack, I won’t know my max. 
Finisher: 5 min plank. This is still a bear. First Stop for a break was at the 1:57 mark. Paused the timer and restarted once back in position. 
Cooldown: Easy-Pace 10 min run. - 1.05 Miles in 10min flat.
