This weekend was not about being healthy. It was about appies and dessert on a very rare date night, cold beers at the beach, more cold beers, nachos and fries with live music, and celebrating Father’s Day with BBQ and ice cream cones. This huge glass of lemon water was probably the only healthy thing I did all weekend! And I don’t feel any guilt, shame, or regret (although my stomach may say otherwise 🤤). I certainly don’t do this all the time, and that’s the point. I indulge when I want, then go right back to my regular way of eating and don’t look back. Anyone on the struggle bus trying to get “back on track” on Mondays?

This couldn’t be more true. I have always been an active personal from sports in school, to dancing at theme parks, then performing on cruise ships. But as many of you know the hustle and bustle of life can often get the best of us and with that comes excuses. Well for me I decided will not settle for these excuses any longer. I already eat really healthy, am very aware of the things I introduce to my body, and live a holistic life style. But I have been at the fault of not working out and making excuses. Moving to new country was tough and not having friends was hard so I tried to keep my mind busy but to busy I suppose to workout. I let stress of immigrating weigh me down. Today I embrace a new journey. I joined a group of amazing ladies who will hold me accountable and push me when I feel like giving in. I will post my progress, share my success, and my struggles. If you see anything along the way that inspires you message me and join me on this journey. This is me authentically and I’m ready to embrace my best self yet! .
I’ve never posted a photo so exposed, with all my imperfections. I guess in a way it feels rewarding to not be ashamed of what I see in the mirror but only seeing what I will become. Not just physically but mentally defined. .
My goal isn’t to necessarily lose weight but to define, tone, and be at my strongest. To push myself harder then I ever have. Starting weight 122 lbs. Here’s my before..I’m excited to see my afters! Let’s do this!

So, I decided to check my blood ketone levels out of curiosity since I haven’t been following ketosis but eat pretty close to it and I was pleasantly surprised! I had 3 beers last night and still got a nice blood ketone reading 🙌🏻 I even did it twice just to make sure 😆😉 My carbohydrate intake falls somewhere between 40-60g per day, with the exception of yesterday 🍺, and my body is still in ketosis 💃🏼
How to replace olive oil?
Olive oil is the source of anumber of properties that place it as one of the protagonists of any healthy diet. If you have problems getting olive oil a suitable substitute can be avocado. 72% of the total fat of the avocado is oleic acid; unsaturated fatty acid majority in olive oil.
Layers 〰️ Healing happens is layers. Not in a minute or an hour or a day or a month. It is the accumulation of all of the moments. One of my favorite visuals that helps me remember this and one that I share with patients often is that of peeling an onion. Healing is like peeling through the layers of an onion. We uncover parts we didn’t even know were there because it would be too overwhelming to see the whole picture at once. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve just wanted to be on the other side of something. But sustainable change is subtle change. GLUTE BRIDGES 🍑 these dumbbell bridges were a superset to barbell, but add a resistance band and push your knees outwards against the band, hold and squeeeeze at the top! -
RESISTANCE BAND NO HAND SQUATS 🍑 i tried using no hands and really focus on isolating my glutes and using them as the driving force to help me stand up, rather than letting the weight fall into my hands or back.
CABLE DEADLIFT 🍑 i love these because you can reach far forward and get full motion and focus on your glutes to help you stand up. squeeze and hold for two seconds at the top. -

This week's a busy one for me. I'm wrapping up a summer course with some high stake assignments, training many awesome clients, trying to make some gains of my own, and further working on my business.
On Sundays I find it essential to cleanse, heal, rest, reset and prepare for the week. Today looked like cleaning my space, picking up these stellar noms, planning my meals, talking to God for awhile, soul searching, and studying for a quiz.
(Side note: I'm a perpetual workaholic, and I usually don't stop until I get sick or overly stressed, so I've also started the 'Beating Burnout' devotional on the YouVersion bible app).
Some of the meals on my menu:
🍃Breakfast: Eggs, berries, greens (and NO coffee–gonna try)
🍃Pre-workout: Overnight oats or sweet potato with cinnamon
🍃Post-workout: Brown rice and veggie 'ground beef'
🍃Lunch/dinner: Big kale, arugula garden and chickpea salad
🍃Night snack: Skinny pop and chamomile tea latte

It won’t come 6 months from now or 5 years or 10 years when you think your life will get better. It happens now. In your every day life. Not because of the big events in life, but rather in the small choices you make that maybe you don’t even notice. True internal joy comes from you.

Oats are great source of soluble fibre keeping me fuller for longer, yoghurt offers probiotics keeping my tummy happy, chia is a plant-based omega 3 keeping my heart healthy and I can make it the night before giving me more time to laze around in the morning. thoughts of doubt and guilt started to fill my mind when i realized i’m 26 and still haven’t accomplished much of the goal list i made for myself yet 💩
but really y’all, you just can’t predict life. 🤷🏻♀️ you can’t predict the people you’ll meet, the experiences you’ll have, the random jobs you’ll take! so how can you perfectly predict the goals you’ll want to achieve either?? 🤨
from now on, my goal list is simply to live my best life. 🙃 whatever that may be at any given moment, month or year.
