I have to constantly stop and remind myself that Rome wasn't built in one day.  Sometimes I am so busy looking forward to reaching goals, completing my to-do list and setting new goals that I forget to celebrate how far I've come and be present - all things I teach to all my patients! 
If you aren't exactly thrilled with where you are - stop yourself.  Always make goals and do things to help yourself, BUT always be grateful and content in where you are as well!

Happy Monday, omies! As we head into a new week, I’m sharing my own goal for this fresh start with you. I’m trying to focus on the aspect of self care that requires we do things that don’t necessarily feel “good” to us in the moment. When we think of self care, it’s often luxurious baths and flowers and pampering that we imagine. I used to journal every night, but sometimes that was hard to do. Sometimes I didn’t want to be alone with my thoughts, because sometimes those thoughts were dark and scary. Sometimes I didn’t want to take the time out at the end of the day to sit down and write because there are 1,000 more fun things (including sleep) that I could be doing. Regardless of the huge pain in the ass it was at times, I now realize that I remained dedicated to writing just a little bit every night as a part of a practice that was a signal to me that I was checking in with me, showing ME that what’s going on inside me matters and is being paid attention to. Through that practice, I came into some of the deepest insights into myself, others, and my role in the world, and I don’t think I could’ve done so without this dedication to my practice, this one thing I decided I’d show up for, just for me, once everyday. We give so much of ourselves to the world all day long. Sometimes we don’t even realize that there’s still a voice in there that wants to be heard. And when we take just a little time to listen, to show love to our inner selves, it’s amazing how that inner self can start to shine through in everything we do, with everyone we interact with. ✨ Im sure you have heard the old-adage “ You are what you eat.” I believe though is more accurate to say that “ you are what you absorb.” The primary role of the gut is to absorb the nutrients from your food that your body needs for growth, repair, and normal functioning. There are many factors that inhibit proper absorption of nutrients, and when the body doesn't receive proper nutrients, it begins to prioritize which organs will get the few nutrients that are available. Noticing how I breathe around different people is one way I've learned the language of my body. When I'm at ease and feel like I can be myself with someone, my breathe is full and deep. If I'm holding back parts of myself, my breathe reflects that too... I unconsciously hold my breathe and it becomes quick and shallow. .
