I’m back! I’ve been very quiet for a while since I’ve been in Thailand, but as my holiday comes to an end today I am taking some time out to reflect.
My motivation for starting weight watchers was this holiday - Thailand 2018. I chose to pay 3 months upfront so that I could stick to it and find fewer excuses to skip meetings or drift off plan....in doing so I managed to lost 3 stone in that time by sticking to plan religiously and finding a new love in the gym and exercise! It was the weekend before departing I got my 3 stone and I couldn’t have been happier. However as my holiday dawned nearer I became worried sick about coming off plan and not being in the healthy routine I had gotten into and disciplined myself so hard to stick to. The first week of my holiday I spent feeling guilty about all the things I ate...the wonderful Thai food, which unfortunately is cooked in quite a lot of oil, the alcohol and snacks here and there as we went. Every morning when I woke up I would look at myself from the side and ask my boyfriend “babe don’t you think my belly looks massive!!” and of course he would tell me to shut and and stop being stupid. I couldn’t help being so critical of myself and of the food choices I’d made. To try and make myself feel better, I decided to look at my Apple Health app to see how many steps we’d done per week to see if the extremely busy days we’d had may of made up for the days I’d spent off plan....and to my surprise we’ve walked a minimum of 2.5 miles a day!! This made me feel much better and I stopped beating myself up. I was also conscious of the fact that we had both been drinking so MUCH water since being here, which is always a good thing.
Anyway, week 2 was different and I stopped worrying so much. Since doing so I have become so much more relaxed and negative, and have been able to fully enjoy my holiday!
One of the real shockers for me was my confidence to have my full length phot taken without hiding beneath baggy clothes like the girl on the left, who was 3 stone heavier. My boyfriend has taken so many “off guard” pictures and me and pictures I’ve posed for...and in all of them I hardly recognise myself and that confident girl!
Feeling poorly and sore today and don’t feel like eating :( Not going to make @slimmingworld group this morning :( BUT needed something to keep me focused so got my gorgeous new @houseoffraser holiday bikini out to keep me on track and focussed !!! 8 weeks to go!
Holidays used to mean gluttony followed by guilt & remorse for me.
They don't anymore!
I'm sharing my Holiday Hacks over on the Forever Body Coaching Facebook page.
Come over and check out how I still enjoy chocolate, cocktails, great food and.... my top tip to avoid the uncomfortable no thigh gap chafing!

I can honestly say I’ve never been so busy! I’ve been pulling all the hours under the sun and I’m exhausted.
It also means that I’ve been slacking on my workouts and that’s really narking me. And I’ll be honest, I need something exciting to get me out of my rut 😒
Do you ever feel the same? Like you just don’t have enough time in your week? That you’re stuck in a rut of doing the same thing over and over again but just don’t get anywhere?
Yep. I feel you.
So, I’m breathing a sigh of relief that there’s something new for me to get my teeth into. A fresh new challenge with a new workout program.
And the fact that it won’t take up all of my time is just what I need right now.
Throw in some accountability friends to keep me on track and I’ll be golden.
I’m actually really looking forward to it!!!

How much did you spend (read as waste!) on food & drink this weekend?! CWP is not expensive when you add up your weekly food spend including coffees, snacks, takeaways etc!! AND you’ll be losing weight rather than staying the same or gaining!!!
I bought these trousers 2 days before leaving for 2 weeks in the States and I discovered at the time that I was dead close to dropping a dress size. But you know how it is. You go on holiday, you eat different food, at different times if you're in a different time zone, and you somehow blow up no matter how careful you are.
Well, 9 days into my trip I decided to try them on again, and they're slightly easier to get on than they were when I bought them. So in case you still needed proof, here it is. This new mindset that I have around food works every day, no matter where you find yourself.

We are hopefully going away in a month! 🌊So back to watching what I eat and taking exercise seriously😐 We definitely don’t need to mention the huuuuuuge Chinese I had last night🙈Today is a fresh start right?😂
Yesterday’s food. Healthy fruit salad for breakfast, cantaloupe melon, orange and strawberries. Followed by a lovely salad for lunch. Didn’t get a pic of tea, but had chicken and potatoes from the bbq. Trying hard to shift a bit of weight for our holiday #holidayweightloss#healthyeating#healthyfood
Summer wardrobe too tight?
Dreading peeling off the layers?
Not looking forward to the chub rub or covering arms up all summer?

A little lightsaber battle to warm me up today 😂
You all this weekend was so much fun and full of 🌭🌮🍟🌽🍕🍨🍹🍾🍷🍻. I thought for sure I had gained a few pounds simply because I indulged and indulging means cheating right??🤔. NOT ANYMORE!! I simply followed my new guidelines and actually woke up at my lowest weight in the past two weeks 🤗
You don’t know how amazing weight loss can be until you start telling yourself “YES” and stop 🛑 the madness of feeling guilty when you “cheat.” Drop a 🙋🏼♀️below if you want to hear more about my nutrition plan and how you too can stop the madness of yo-yo dieting. .
My strategy for the holiday weekend: fast through breakfast (except coffee ☕️🤷🏼♀️), eat a light lunch and eat all the things for dinner. My cal goal for the holiday is not to go over my TDEE of 2,200. With this strategy, it’s really not too hard. Plus I get to enjoy my weekend and not be worried I’ll “ruin all my hard work in one weekend!” If you’re into adult beverages🍺🍸🍻🍹 be sure you’re aware of how many calories you’re drinking because that’s a really way to bust your budget. 🌿HEALTHY ON HOLIDAY - TIP 1🌿
So here’s my first tip for being healthy on holiday.
⭐️ Don’t opt for an all inclusive package ⭐️.
That doesn’t necessarily mean you should reduce your food intake though (after all it’s your holiday). Resorts and hotels have calculated costs such that they still make considerable profit from all you can eat so it’s not necessarily value for money despite how hard and how much people will eat and drink to make it so. I personally feel that the food provided in those places is of inferior quality mainly consisting of cheap carbohydrates such as chips and pastries. Furthermore, you never get a fully completed meal meticulously presented by chef hence never feel satisfied.
For my current holiday instead of spending money or an all inclusive I was able to get a villa with a swimming pool and a kitchen for half that price. My plan is to make a healthy and traditional Greek breakfast of yoghurt, fruit and honey and eat what I want when I want the rest of the time. This way I haven’t been limited at all - you can check out the fabulous cafes I’ve explored at @theactivedoctor.
