I was reading something the other day about how we focus so much on giving to everyone around us, but often times neglect to treat ourselves! What’s up with that?! You are no less important than those around you. I’m starting a health and fitness group next week to help people jumpstart their goals NOW instead of waiting until the new year. I know what you’re going to say....”I don’t want to be deprived over the holidays.” Guys these groups are not about being perfect or depriving yourself. They are about learning strategies for making good choices in all situations while still enjoying yourself. Perfection is NOT the goal...otherwise I wouldn’t even sign up!

Most people say peace out to their goals from Halloween to New Years....Here’s 5 ways to avoid the gains you don’t want this season.
Got a lunch event? Aim for half a gallon of H2O before you sit down. Got an evening event? Get in a gallon of the wet stuff. Drinking water makes you full, helps with hangovers, and you’ll be less likely to over munch.
Eat the carbs that have substance. Fill your plate with protein. Turkey day? Eat the white meat and load up on the sweet potatoes and the veggies. You’ll stay fuller longer.
Don’t forget your 💤 ‘s. Holiday stress and exhaustion is real. And not getting enough sleep can effect your hormones. And hormones matter y’all. So 7-8 hours a night. Make it a priority.
You know those fancy little plates that you put finger foods on. Use them. Get a portion at a party, and walk away. Do NOT congregate next to the food and mindlessly eat. Get a plate...walk away. Socialize away from the food.
Use the 2 day rule. Thanksgiving is one day, have what you want Thursday and Friday and move on. Don’t turn it (or any of the holidays) into a 4-5 day eating binge. Enjoy for a couple of days then hop back on track!
Most of all...enjoy your family. Be thankful. Remember what it’s really all about. 😊.
