Another behind-the-scenes. Often times before training runs, the habits and little details that professional athletes like @kylemerber from @njnytc would apply to his daily routine are leg swings. -
Leg swings are great dynamic stretching exercises. The purpose is to warm up and stretch the hip muscles and hip joints to increase mobility. It's also a great way to help prevent injuries and reduce pain in the hip area. With all the sitting that we do, it's often easy to tighten up those areas and this is an example of a great time to do it. --

Tempo run Wednesday! 8 miles at 7:57/mile! Felt great in 22°temps with 20 mph headwinds! Its cold outside!😨🤣 Getting so excited for my Disney world racecation!☺✔
Sometimes the best workouts are the ones that we **know** will be a physical and mental struggle all the way through 🙏And then the voices inside your head get progressively louder as the run goes on... telling you to slow down. Give up. Your weak. Tired.

Brrrrr. 18 degrees at the start of our run and never got higher than 25 degrees! Not complaining tho, cos I’ll take winter running (as long as it’s not icy) over summer running anytime😉 Injury update: foot not as bad compared to last week’s 14 miler and I wasn’t limping👍 but it’s still tender and letting me know it’s there. I taped my plantar fascia with #rocktape during my run which I thing helped. I’ve also been doing a lot of soft tissue work with Graston instruments and ultrasound has also helped with soft tissue extensibility. Not a quick fix this plantar fascia issue, but every little bit helps and I’ll take that⭐️ #HappyIGotMyMilesIn#InjuredRunnerNotGivingUp#SundayRunDate @sicarlopo💕
