Chateau Clinet Pomerol 1996
Verdict: 7.9 / 10
An eventual decline. Short burst of blackberry, plum, mineral on the nose. Ripe plum, tobacco, coffee, smoked meat and forest floor on the flavour. Strength and finish are lacking unfortunately. Tannin, acidity and alcohol are medium
Wine is the epitome of life. Every wine has its own lifespan. Some hold out longer because of it receives better genetics (think the vintage, appellation, vineyard, etc) and nurturing (winemaking). With proper storage, one’s life will release its greatest potential. But like life itself, every wine will have its inevitable decline. When you drink wine, you are tasting not just the fermented juice merely, you are glimpsing the life of wine, and perhaps the lives of people working behind it. With an old vintage wine, one will also reflect how the years have gone by in ones life too. This makes wine unique, poetic and mesmerising.
Xmas is knocking at the door and we just brought over some pretty special wines for the celebrations! 🥰
People often ask “can Aussie wines age?” Well, we have now some amazing back vintage Aussie wines to answer this question, and you might notice (if you have the opportunity to taste them...) they still have a long long way to go☝🏻
This venue is really (secretly) a VenueHub team’s favourite. Don’t get us wrong, we love what we have been introducing (all the party rooms/restaurants/co-working spaces). But for all these time, only the true connoisseurs know about this hidden gem (how is that fair?) and we simply cannot let this special venue sit in the corner without sharing to the world how great this is. From the storefront, you could never tell that there’s a functioning brewery behind the doors. But as soon as you step in, you would love the vibes of this place with its industrial interior design and also a large number of wooden barrels (filled with different kinds of craft beer of course). And have we mentioned the best part yet? You get to taste the hand-crafted, locally-sourced American-style craft beer! Your friends and/or coworkers will definitely appreciate and recognize you as a superb party planner for having sourced this awesome venue for them. Check out the link in bio to this amazing venue now!

Looking forward to catching up again soon with everyone, either on the small island or the big one! 😉😎🍷🇦🇺
The nite when finally the vins Gods smiles at us n all wines performed exceptionally well without much (or any) work or prep
The Leflaive was expectedly bold, concentrated n surprisingly lively, showing a glittering deep golden hue. Nose of minerality with some stony n citrusy hues; palate was elegant but more developed than expected with the expected honey notes, ripe citrus n white fruits... this bottle is in the perfect place now, what a treat! (I’m gonna say this 3x in this post)
My recent crush Haegelen Jayer Clos de Vougeot 1997 was perfect from start to finish. Expressive nose with earthy dried floral rustic notes n a hint of Smokey meat/umami with sweet cherry sauce. Palate is again extremely elegant n balanced with sweet red cherry, spice n a bit less expressive compared to the nose. Again, this bottle is in the right place now n it’s a treat!
Can’t complain about any Meo Camuzet and we didn’t even set a theme, pure coincident that we both brought wines from Clos de Vouget... the 2006 shows energy, vibrancy n the emergence of a girl-boss, an enjoyable wine that packs on more oomph n power as it gets more air in the glass! A powerhouse of spices, gamey, cherry, a balanced wine with notes of violets, mineral n lively acidity. Drinking beautifully now and it’s again a treat!!!
