I can already feel the coziness of this living room! Just a bit of wall base & new light fixtures will complete the #restoration of this space, then we are ready to add a little extra personality with furniture and art! #clarkaveremodel#historicrestoration
Well,it’s taken a while , but I am quite pleased with the results. This is a test run of moulding for the front porch posts from last fall. While doing a little tool hunting on the Internet I saw this massive (2 1/2” cutter) for sale on @libertytool website. Asked about condition and rolled the dice. It arrived Monday in excellent shape. I sharpened the iron , which was in excellent shape. After a little fine tuning I was off and running. As the profile emerged I realized there had been a slight shrinkage of the body creating two spots where the iron was not cutting. A little work with a couple of @lienielsentoolworks plane makers floats on the inside of the wedge opening which allowed the iron to shift to the right about a 1/64” and she was good to go. I need about 12 feet. #woodenplanes#mouldingplanes#historicrestoration#historicwoodwork#restorationcarpentry#handworks
Crews are getting close to finishing the new copper batten roof installation on the Kalamazoo Civic Theater. Sheet Metal Foreman Chris Reginek is pictured on the roof. Chris and the crew have been working long days perfecting this new roof. This copper roof replaces the 90 year old original copper roof, and is designed to last much longer than the original. Great job, team! #customcopper#historicrestoration
This was an absolutely amazing project to be a part of and we couldn’t resist a #Repost
It's time for #mansionmondays ! 🏡 Mansion Library. The pink and green upholstered sofa, known as the Pease Sofa, is one of the few original pieces in the Mansion. It was chosen by Governor Elisha Pease, the first governor to live in the Mansion, c. 1856. .
