RESPECT THE LOCALS. This is a shout out to all the amazing folks who work in hospitality but especially the locals whom I have met in Latin America and SE Asia who cater to mostly Europeans and North Americans who want to live out their dreams while traveling and have many demands and expectations that the locals happily provide, often outside of their paid job descriptions. 🌴
Locals often earn their wages from tourists so there’s sometimes a slight imbalance especially when you consider the flip-flop of immigrants who painstakingly emigrate to EU or USA and are then treated like second class citizens. The disparity is great. Expats vs immigrants = same same ?!?!
I am humbled by people like Daniel, an educated urbanite from Panamá (many people in Panamá speak perfect English btw) who left the concrete jungle for the rainforest to work at the luxury hostel where I stayed. He took a group of us on his day off to a secret hike not on the radar of social medial. This is the kind of generosity that I have experienced in Latin America and SE Asia but rarely in USA or Europe. (In Canada, people are ridiculously nice). ¡Muchas gracias por todo! 🌴

So...now I'm watching the mailbox like a little kid. Apparently, that's what happens when you subscribe to @plumdeluxe tea of the month. I know this because there's a fun online tea community of subscribers swapping tea puns and photos and good naturedly letting each other know if their surprise tea has already arrived! 😅
You might remember that Plumdeluxe creates some of my favorite organic flavored tea blends... Porch Sippin' Pecan, Watermelon Mint, Meadow Walk, Oregon Breakfast Decaf, Rainy Day Puerh. You can order those permanently, but you get free samples, free shipping & other perks when you're a subscriber. Each tea of the month is limited edition; the picture shows Ginger Apricot Black tea... a very warming ginger blend perfect for a snowy day latte, one of last month's teas. The last bit of it, I might add because I almost drank it all before I could share it with you! What really struck me was the genuine apricot taste. No mistaking it for any other citrus. Honeybush in the blend, so my immune system said "thanks" too!
If you want to check it out, please type ➡️ bit.ly/Teatrail ⬅️ in your browser, this will let them know I sent you. (Thank you very much!)

Did you know you are a product of the 5 people that are closest to you? .
Who are your five best friends? The people you talk to most. Tell me about them. Are they successful? Funny? Positive? Supportive? Are they negative? Do they complain? Do they play the victim card? .
Thanks to coaching I am surrounded by boss babes that do nothing but lift me up, cheer me on, and support me. They are constantly pushing me to level up and live my best life! .
I just hopped off a call where we all talked about our goals for 2019 and let me the ya, my fire is LIT! .
What are your goals for 2019? Are your friends holding you accountable for them? Do they have goals of their own?? .

Welcome Flat Hut
So, this was pretty cool. While we were at Welcome Flat Hut it was being cared for by an old Austrian couple who had the cutest double act going on. A lot of non-native species have been introduced to NZ in the last couple of centuries, one of which is the Himalayan Tahr - a long haired goat. Someone told me that NZ is the only place in world tahr can be hunted, because it's a real menace to the alpine ecosystem, so that's what this particular hut warden has been up to. Snow on the mountains meant it was cold enough to keep hanging from the trees for a few days. When we were offered the chance to walk out with a bag full of free steaks, it was too unique an opportunity to pass up.
