Naked Raku vase 🏺
The process of Naked Raku is really long. Normally for this type of technique I am using stoneware clay with small quantities of grogs, so I can smooth really well the surface.
When the piece is completely dry, I add 3 coat of TS (terra Sigillata) to get a nice and shine surface. After the bisque firing I add the resistance slip and Raku glaze outside and a green/turquoise Raku glaze inside. I firing in a Raku kiln at 940 degrees.
I remove the pieces from the Raku kiln and move in bin with sawdust to get smoked. I am leaving the piece in the bin for 30/40min. When the piece is cold I remove with a knife the glaze. I am using a wax to get the best results at the end of the process.
