TASTE: like oats
1. Hemp Seeds Are Incredibly Nutritious
Technically a nut, hemp seeds are very nutritious. They have a mild, nutty flavor and are often referred to as hemp hearts.
Hemp seeds contain over 30% fat. They are exceptionally rich in two essential fatty acids, linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). Hemp seeds are a great protein source, as more than 25% of their total calories are from high-quality protein.
2. Hemp Seeds May Reduce Your Risk of Heart Disease
Heart disease is the number one cause of death worldwide.
Interestingly, eating hemp seeds may reduce your risk of heart disease.
The seeds contain high amounts of the amino acid arginine, which produces nitric oxide in your body.
Nitric oxide is a gas molecule that makes your blood vessels dilate and relax, leading to lowered blood pressure and a reduced risk of heart disease
3. Hemp Seeds and Oil May Benefit Skin Disorders
Hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats. They have a 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3, which may benefit skin diseases and provide relief from eczema and its uncomfortable symptoms.
4. Hemp Seeds Are a Great Source of Plant-Based Protein
About 25% of calories in hemp seeds come from protein, which is relatively high.
In fact, by weight, hemp seeds provide similar amounts of protein as beef and lamb — 30 grams of hemp seeds, or 2–3 tablespoons, provide about 11 grams of protein
5. Hemp Seeds May Reduce Symptoms of PMS and Menopause
These symptoms are very likely caused by sensitivity to the hormone prolactin
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), found in hemp seeds, produces prostaglandin E1, which reduces the effects of prolactin
It decreased breast pain and tenderness, depression, irritability and fluid retention associated with PMS
6. Whole Hemp Seeds May Aid Digestion
Whole hemp seeds contain high amounts of fiber — both soluble and insoluble — which benefits digestive health. However, de-hulled or shelled hemp seeds contain very little fiber.

Dark and rainy mornings call for more than just a smoothie. Mushrooms to the rescue. Just as quick to whip up too. Bread toasted and topped with rocket or leaves of choice and mushrooms that I sautéed in a pan with tinned coconut milk, red chilli, tarragon, minced garlic, a little nutmeg, salt/ pep for seasoning and top with toasted hemp seeds. Mmmm... happy Tuesday ❤️ Louise
Celebratory cupcake baking because we hit 4000 of you epic sunshine’s today.
That’s kinda crazy for me.
What started out as a place for me to hone in my crazy good vibes, soon turned into a place for me to document my life. To share my struggles. And to share the way in which I choose to seek a little extra sun every single day.
Long time followers; I feel like you KNOW me. I feel like we’re friends. In fact, some of you might know more about me then my real life friends! That’s crazy to me.
Anywho- this is just a thank you to all of you. For your sweet sweet comments, your incredible shoutouts, when you send me pics of your food (like honestly THANK YOU), when you send me pics of the sun. When you let me know how your feeling. This is what motivates me. Happy happy days ☀️ Strawberry cheesecake cupcakes with creamy hemp cashew birthday cake frosting 😍🙌☀️🤤 Cupcakes:

How the U.S. Got Patent 6630507-
Patent 6630507 was granted to the Department of Health and Human Services in 2003. When the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which operates under this department, uncovers potential innovations or other discoveries, they apply for a patent so that they can control the research and allow others to do testing. Scientists with the NIH were searching for antioxidant qualities to help in degenerative brain diseases when they applied for the patent in 1999. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What the Patent Really Says-
You may have heard that the U.S. has a patent on cannabis, but that is only partly correct. Patent 6630507 only covers some non-psychoactive compounds found in the plant, rather than the whole plant, which means it has nothing to do with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Possibly the most medicinally important compound, cannabidiol (CBD), is mentioned, though, and quite often. The patent also states, “No signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol to healthy volunteers, even in large acute doses….” So, basically, the government knows both that certain compounds in cannabis have medicinal properties and that they are not at all harmful for human consumption.
