Grrrrr you know when you're disappointed 😥 in your meal? 🍴 Smeh. This is me. 😒 I had such high hopes for this hemp burger. But at glorified mashed potatoes, it's pretty meh at best. I shall be attempting my own next week. I'm certain I can make up a better one. Still, not all meals can be amazing. Sometimes meh just has to do. Least its nutritious! The paprika courgette fries were great though 😉 👍
NATURALLY PROTEIN PORRIDGE
I'm not a fan of protein powders. I'm not mad keen on heavily manufactured food supplements which aren't for medical purposes, and I think they taste powdery. However I'm still not getting enough protein. Most people don't need as much as they may think they do (see earlier post) but for me, I'm still hoping to build muscle so that still needs a kcal surplus and a higher protein intake. And whilst I've have ZERO intentions to ever count macros, I can keep half an eye on it.
So here's breakfast this morning. 1/3 cup oats in a pan to cook with twice as much milk. In a separate bowl, whisk 1 (or 2) egg whites until fluffy. When the porridge is nearing the end of the cooking time remove from the heat and fold in the egg whites. Put back on the heat to full heat through for around 30 seconds longer or until you're happy with the consistency.
I topped mine with coconut flakes (though almond would have more protein), hemp nuts and sultans. The egg white gives a a silky and fluffy texture without any 'eggy' taste what-so-ever! And without having to eat a savoury breakfast when you don't want to 😉
So breakfast today:
16g natural protein (20g with 2 egg whites) 👍

When confronted with treats try to make them #vegan and cut in #HempNuts to spread the flavor out and get more satisfied (off actually nutritious food) so u don't have to gorge the treat as fast. even if u have no self control adding flax chia or hemp is fail safe health hack to spread out the sugar. #hailMerry#vegansOfIG
