Been trying to put strength back in my legs since I tore my pcl in Rugby last year. Long story short progress has been made. I have been struggling with back squats and i have had a hip shift to the right. 2 weeks ago I could not hit 225 for 2 reps and now I am here., hitting 255 for a solid 8.
My Hammies have always been beastly strong. Here I am doing deficits as I am trying to increase my PR of 435lbs, I have no problem getting the weight up at the midpoint but the initial pull off is crazy hard. So here I am doing 365 till failure on my last set of deads. 💀💀💀💀
P.S. I look tall on the first vid
My routine was a strength/hypertrophy day consisting of...
🏋🏽♂️Deficits 3xfailure 🏋🏽♂️Cable kickbacks 3x8
🏋🏽♂️Cable Hip Thrusts 3x8
Clip of my chest workout. The main point of this post is to train smart. Got me a spotter to prevent unnecessary injury. Why 4 plates? I was feeling strong, 3 plates plus 10 was my max but decided to go for 4 plates. Was not too bad could have gone higher but was not needed for my training plan. NO EGO lifting TRAIN SMART but take advantage of the days you felt solid to challenge your body. Do not be too prideful to ask for a spotter. I have seen lifting go wrong.
This exercise gives you a solid contraction/pump on the chest. You do not need to fully extend your arms, just enough to hit the chest.unless you want to get some tricep extension action while working chest. Ended an already exhausting week with having to be at work for 7am 😣. Between getting the kids adjusted to starting new schools and the work pace picking up in preparation for the college semester starting, the fatigue was REAL this morning!!
Thursday I planned as a rest day and Friday I really just gave in after work and came home. Honestly, all I wanted to do was go back to sleep...but two skipped days is a no no if I can avoid it. So LEGS it is...and the nap after will be that much better 😁😁 #thiswascuterthanthegymfit

Currently sitting @ the doctors office. Been sick for several days now. But I’m stubborn & just continued my workout routine as usual this week. I should have been resting... Struggled thru my workout today. After taking longer breaks between sets, trying to catch my breath, & feeling like there’s not enough H2O to go around... finally decided to take my butt to the doctor to find out I have bronchitis. Don’t worry it’s not contagious 👌🏼
I’ve learned my lesson! Listen to your body when it’s telling you to slow down. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend👏🏻
Started back at @fitfactorynashville ‘s Barbell Club this month and it feels so good to get back to lifting heavier weights again. Getting up at 430am is no joke. And thankfully their equipment is a lot newer than this rickety rack that I’m apparently taking a nap on. ☺️ Thanks for the fitness shoot @sarah_e_boyce ! •
Feeling this today! Usually I would go to BJJ but I woke up with my entire body so sore and still tired - even after sleeping well. I pushed myself hard in the gym yesterday and today my body told me to rest. I listened. I did not have as many sessions as I did last week and that is OKAY. Life is about balance. I am going to take these next couple of days to recover properly so I can kick next week's ass like I did the previous week! Also I have learned to love working out and never want to get to a place where I dread or resent it. That is why I think it is so important to take breaks once in a while. 💗 #keto#ketogenicdiet#recover#restdays#workout#ketocommunity#heavylifting#weightlossjourney#lchf#lowcarb#highfat#takeabreak#balance
