My dear friend @brynnspeer, who is an incredible teen librarian and a talented writer, just graduated from the MFA program at @vcfawcya. I’m so proud of her! I made this quilt, which is full of library and book prints, for her in hopes that it will honor her past, present, and future. Happy graduation Brynn! #localcorquilts
Guys, seriously, Heather Givans is pure sunshine! She couldn’t have been any sweeter, happier, more full of personality glitter. If you ever get the chance to meet her in person, DO IT! Thank you Heather for visiting the @fortworthmqg and teaching me how to make such a fun block/quilt. Seriously, can I just come work for you every day? Because a day full of rainbows sounds great to me! #quilting#quilt#HeatherGivans#sweing#rainbow#sparkles#glitter#sundhine#thankyou#Airtrafficcontrol
Check it!! Last week, I revamped heathergivans.com! It’s a brand new hub that highlights @heathergivans fabric designs, patterns, her upcoming workshop schedule, inspirations, blog, and FUN as always!!! I’m no @ctitguy, but I do my best! #ctitguywannabe#crimsontate#heathergivans
Ta-da!!!! Excuse the pic-dumping - this took so much brain-space and elbow grease, and I am so in love with the fabric prints from @crimsontate (all except the lining of the zippered pockets) that I just have to #showandtell as much about this as possible. All fabrics used for this project can be purchased @clairsfabrics .
This is the #bionicgearbag I made for #soulcraftalong and I’m bringing it to Leslie’s freeform patchwork workshop, filled with my sewing/quilting tools.
For anyone interested in making it, please note that while it does carry ALOT, there is no handle (you could customize it though), the written pattern requires patience to navigate and has very few photos and the videos (MUCH needed) cost extra and are very long. However, I can also report that this is really quite different to the Sew Together bag. I will be making one of those in the near future :) .
Oh for cute! We've combined our favorite back-up singers (think scrappy backgrounds, low volume, alternatives to solid white) for our first Night Hike & Jot MASH-UP! This chubby lil’ bundle contains FOUR one-yard pieces and it hit the shelves just moments ago!! Next up to be cut? A collector’s tin of #nighthikefabric !! #jotfabric#heathergivans#crimsontate#projectstarters#bundles
Heather Givans of Crimson Tate here. I’m about to give you the low down on the inspiration for my newest collection of fabric Night Hike. You should know the following things about me:
1. I taught high school art for nearly ten years. I ❤️ being an art teacher.
2. I was a summer camp counselor, adventure trip leader, and outdoor educator. I also went to camp religiously as a kid.
3. I’m a big fan of lakes, canoeing, kayaking, and swimming and that is where I always dream of being.
4. I’ve seen the Northern lights in Northern Minnesota and they are spectacular. The color palette for Night Hike is based loosely on that.
5. While I’m a big fan of rainbow order, I’m a bigger fan of gradient colors which you will find in Night Hike.
6. I go everyday to Crimson Tate, the cutest little fabric store in Downtown Indianapolis. Most days I can bike or walk to work as I live only 7/10ths of a mile away.
7. The smell of campfire is one of my favorite things and I love being the one in charge of building and lighting the fire.
8. I like choosing topics I love as the theme for fabric collections which is why this one is so dear. Hiking, summer camp, and the night sky in summertime are among my favorite things.

I come across a lot of fabric collections I love, but not many that I fall immediately head over heels for. #nighthikefabric by #heathergivans is one such collection. The constellations...those metallic fireflies...it didn't take long for inspiration to strike.
I ordered this Night Hike fabric at 10 AM this morning from @wintercreekcloth, and Dana texted me at 2:15 PM to ask if she could drop it off....at my door. THAT is outstanding customer service, and I know all of my local quilting peeps will agree. OK, I know some of you are saying "Why did you get hiking fabric, Lisa? You don't like hiking or camping or being outside!" 😂 This quilt isn't for me, silly! 🙄😜 Just stay tuned for a really cool quilt!! These prints are pretty awesome....and some are metallic! 🤗
