Prinzmetal or variant angina: -Uncomfortable pressure, fullness, squeezing or pain in the center of the chest, neck, jaw, shoulder, arm or back. -Almost always occurs at rest, usually between midnight and early morning, usually very painful.
-It is rare, representing about two out of 100 cases of angina, and usually occurs in younger patients without any risk factors. - The pain is caused by a spasm (temporary narrowing without any plaque) in the heart arteries. -Can be relieved by medications. -Possible triggers include -Emotional stress -Exposure to very hot or cold temperatures -Medicines that tighten or narrow blood vessels -Cocaine use -Heavy meals -Smoking -Since the symptoms are similar as unstable angina, need to seek immediate help by calling 911, at least until diagnosis is made.

Berries are some of the healthiest foods you can eat. 🍓
Small but mighty: berries are loaded with anti-oxidants, fibre, and nutrients (vitamin C, vitamin K, folate), and are low in calories.
They help prevent inflammation, boost skin and heart health, and can even slow the aging process. Plus they're delicious!
What is your favourite berry? ❤️

Fish 🐟 can serve as a nutrient rich power food. It's a great source of high-quality protein, omega-3 fatty acids, minerals such as selenium and iodine, and vitamins especially B3 and B12. It is especially good for the health of the heart ❤️, the brain 🧠 and the eyes 👀 •
Although as good as it may sound, sadly there are some complicating factors that impact the fish story. These are contamination of the oceans and rivers, and overfishing 🎣 •
Heavy metal such as mercury is one of the main concerns. Fish containing higher levels of mercury can harm an unborn baby🤰🏼or young child’s developing nervous system. New research shows that mercury impacts adult’s heart health, including heart attack and hypertension ❤️
As a general rule, fish that have lived for longer and reached larger sizes tend to have greater accumulation of mercury. •
Fish you should never eat include swordfish, shark 🦈, king mackerel, or tilefish. Since mercury content of tuna can vary widely, it is better to be cautious here and lower the consumption of tuna to minimum. •
Luckily, there are healthy fish that are low in contaminants and with stable population. They would benefit our health especially due to their high omega-3 fatty acid content. These are sardines, Atlantic mackerel, anchovies, wild-caught Alaskan salmon, and herrings. •
But bear in mind, omega-3s found in fish come from fish eating phytoplankton, so you could always omit eating fish and go straight to the source! 🌱
The mineral content in your diet is connected to everything from energy levels to bone health. They're tiny but pack a punch. These are your top 5 must haves to help detox the body, boost immunity as we enter winter, and just be stronger. How's this for a little inspo to step up your Friday food game.
🧐 Where can they be found? And why do you need them?
✳️Iron = Red meat, egg yolks, mollusks, spinach, artichokes, dried fruit. Good for healthy blood, oxygenation and removing Co2 from the body. Basically having more iron purifies your body. .
✳️Calcium= Dairy, kale, broccoli, and black eyed peas. Gives healthy bones, teeth, and muscles. Bet you didn't know that last one? 😉
✳️Magnesium= Leafy greens, nuts + seeds, beans + lentils, figs + dates. Boosts immunity and nerve function. It's also responsible for 300+ biochemical reactions in the body but most Americans are deficienct in this mineral. .
✳️Zinc= Meat, whole grains, spinach, cocoa. This strengthens your immune system and enables your sense of smell and vision. .
✳️Potassium= dried fruits (apricots + raisins), dried beans (lima + pinto), and baked potatoes. This is also an electrolyte that transports waste out of your cells. Without it you'll feel tired and irritatable.
🧐 What's the difference between vitamins and minerals? .
Think of your body as a house. Vitamins are like tiny little maids and butlers, scurrying about to turn on the lights and make sure that the windows are closed to keep the heat from escaping.
Minerals are more sturdy stuff, the mortar and bricks that strengthen the frame of the house and the current that keeps the lights running. .
Also, vitamins in food can be altered by the cooking process - but minerals hold their structure.
I had mentioned in my previous post about Rhodiola Rosea. This is one of the most powerful herbs on the Earth - especially for those dealing with attention and focusing issues. They have found that those who have ADD/ADHD and many other mental health related issues have very low levels of dopamine in very high levels of cortisol. One of the reasons we are doing keto for Ryleigh is to lower her sugar intake. The body see sugar as a “trauma/stressor”. So, since you’re body treats this as a stressor it releases more and more of the hormone cortisol. With diet changes & adding Rhodiola Rosea it has tremendous benefits for her #BrainHealth#StressReliever#Energy#HeartHealth#BoostsImmuneSystem#RyleighsKetoJourney#ADHD#ADD#NaturesRemedy
Different trees, different track, different town... This pic is deceiving- it doesn’t show how steep the track was and it keeps going, and going!! We made it half way which I didn’t think was too bad for my first time and for my Uncle who has serious heart issues. And the goal has been set - to be able to do the whole 3km!
Eat yourself to a sensationally healthy body.
What's cookin... it's good lookin!
Low in simple carbohydrates, low in saturated fats.
Beetroot falafel loaded with onion, mushrooms, beetroot, chick peas, of course, my fiber mix, egg & cumin, coriander & thyme. I added chilli!
On a bed of mixed leaves, with Pot Set Greek Yoghurt & Hummus.
15 minutes to blitz. 25 minutes to cook at 200 degrees celcius
I've started walking to work a few days a week instead of driving or catching the bus! This will be beneficial both for my health (yay for incidental exercise) and the budget a little bit too (bus is $1.76 each way and parking about $6 per day plus petrol/wear and tear). I've tracked my walk twice and was a bit surprised by the difference... The first time I did forget to start the tracker until a little while down the street but it was more like 300m down the street not 1.2km 🤷♀️🤷♀️ And somehow I got a lot faster too 😂 I think the GPS might have been messed up, I'll track again next time and see what I get! .
I'm happy to get a little bit of exercise (I'm bad at making time for this, always so tired after work) and I feel so refreshed and ready for the day when I get to work now 😀☀️
Longlife Vitality, Copaiba Softgels and Serenity Restful Complex Softgels are all part of my daily/nightly health regimen! I have three pretty significant health conditions and after 5 years was tired of meds that provided for more side effects than solutions! In desperation I turned to trialing some essential oils and since then I’ve been able to get off of 10/11 pharmaceuticals by replacing them with supplements and essential oil support! That’s my WHY! I know that I can help others achieve the same health success story! This is not a magic wand, it’s a daily commitment. It’s so worth it though, I feel more like myself than I have in years! OMG! I am back! I was on the major struggle bus. Cardio kicks my patootie like no other, how about any of you? Hot Damn, but honestly it feels so good. This workout and all the rest for my life are dedicated to those who want but can’t for one reason or another. It hurts when you can’t workout and when you can. It is all a mindset either way, that is what life is a MINDSET! I was starting to sway guys, my mind played tricks and I read, and read and read to keep me strong. Personal Development is what helps, trust and believe. I have a long long way to fight this disease as it seems I will go VEGAN to get it out of my body. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your prayers, I truly appreciate it. God Bless.
❤️🖤❤️ Did you know? Heart intelligence is the flow of awareness, understanding, and intuition we experience when our minds and emotions are brought into coherent alignment with the heart. 💝💝💝 Research shows that the more we pay attention to when we sense the heart is speaking to us or guiding us, the greater our ability to access this intelligence or guidance more frequently. ❣️❣️❣️ Check out heartmathinstitute.org for a fascinating view of how the heart affects our lives, our points of view, our perspectives on the world. Logic is important, but the heart has more influence than you may think. Everything you find valuable in your life...that's where the heart is. 💕

***Trigger Warning*** In February, I wrote a piece for @healthline - “There is no #MeToo without Black women” - that included some startling statistics. “According to the American Heart Association, 49 percent of African-American women 20 and older have heart disease. Cardiovascular diseases kill nearly 50,000 African-American women each year.” When I heard about Kim Porter’s passing today, all I thought about is the health risks facing Black women and how we can begin to address them. 47 is too young to die. #blackwomen#health#hearthealth#kimporter#ericagarner#dcbig
