I remember when I would get all dressed up to go out dancing on a Saturday night! 💃 We all know what comes with going out dancing, right?! 🤷🏻♀️ Drinking 🥂 then late night snacks 🍕🥖🥤 Now, I spend my Saturday nights working out BEFORE I go to a friend's house 🏋️♀️ There may still be a glass of vodka with seltzer water, lemon and lime or maybe just some water. Morning smoothie obsession 💚 I’ve been having my weekend smoothie bowls for ages now but today I decided to do a good old smoothie in a glass. This one is: almond milk, spinach, frozen banana, honey, Macau powder, protein powder, Himalayan sea salt and chia seeds. Delish 👌🏼

Went on a sweaty humid run & during it I planned what I would make for lunch afterwards. 💭 Buuut when I got home, the only thing I craved was a big cold smoothie bowl. 🤷🏻♀️♥️✨
1 cup strawberries
1 cup mango
1/2 cup cashew milk
1 cup @siggisdairy filmjölk (aka kefir)
1/4 cup almonds
Blend at top with goji berries and hemp seeds.
Medical update: So much has happened! I have taken charge of my medical plan to do what is best for me. For awhile I was making fear based decisions and thinking I was going to do chemo right away. Not anymore. First off the pic on the left is my tumor right after surgery back in May and on the right is my tumor as of Thursday August 16th. As you can see it is much smaller. This is partly because of steroids after surgery and partly steps that I’ve taken. I’m taking a mushroom pill blend that is known to prevent cancer growth as well as wheatgrass, & CBD oil. I will be incorporating more holistic things gradually and keeping you updated on those too. At my last appointment with my neurosurgeon he said my tumor isn’t progressing so we could do treatment now but it’s not necessary. So as of now I am just focusing on what I eat, tapering off my Ativan so that I’m no longer on prescription meds and exercising to be the healthiest me I can be. I won’t have another appointment or MRI until November so for the next 3 months I’m just getting back to my new normal and enjoying life. I’ve also been working on the mental/emotional/spiritual aspects of myself. I’ll post about that sometime in the future. I appreciate all the support and love from everyone so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sometimes I can’t even believe that both of these are really me. It’s crazy. Only one year is in between these two photos. It’s taken a lot of hard work and a lot of dedication to get where I’m at now but there’s no stopping!!⠀
I still have goals to meet and I never want to keep pushing myself to be healthier. I want to make sure that I maintain this as a life style to not only look better, but feel better. 👉🏻 Si decides darte un gusto, no te dejes ir al 💯. Ejemplo: si piden postre prueba tres cucharadas y listo!

Sunday is all about preparing for the week ahead and this means doing some meal prep, reflecting on my goals and scheduling in time to work on them through the week and cleaning our home.

I've been meaning to share this for ages, in late winter/early spring of this year I began having noticeable health issues; primarily concerning my blood pressure. The doctors prescribed me water pills, told me to change my alcohol consumption and get back to exercising, I listened, but continued to have high BP. A close friend told me that when her BP was out of control her aunt told her to take cinnamon. On my budget I went to Dollar General and purchased the above product. Not only did my last BP reading come back perfect but I have found my appetite for sweets has basically disappeared. I used to eat anything sweet (sugar was my life). My desire for butter salt and sugar has shifted immensely and its a beautiful thing 💜😊. 🍜 Simple chicken asparagus bowl.
120g of marinated chicken (marinated in olive oil, onion, garlic and rosemery) + 1/2 cup of basmati rice + garlic/aminos asparagus.
On Saturdays I usually do not have time to cook and to avoid ordering food and break with my diet, I take advantage of food that I have prepared for the week, so today I heated the chicken + rice and only cooked the asparagus, which in total took me 10 min. Everything is a matter of balance and discipline.
🍜 Bowl sencillo de pollo con esparragos.
120 g de pollo marinado (marinado en aceite de oliva, cebolla, ajo y romero) + 1/2 taza de arroz basmati + espárragos guisados con ajo y aminos.
Los sábados generalmente no tengo tiempo de cocinar y para no caer en pedir comida a domicilio y romper con mi régimen de alimentación, aprovecho alimentos que tengo ya preparados de la semana, así que hoy solamente calenté el pollo + arroz y solamente cocine los esparragos, lo que en total me tomó 10 min. Todo es cuestión de balance y disciplina.
Healing is a very interesting experience, regardless if it’s physical or mental once you begin to have the awareness that you are starting to heal the process comes in waves. You begin to realize that one day these moments will become a memory and a very important lesson learned. However, through the process you may think you are making progress only to be brought back to the realization that the pain is still there, you begin to have moments where the anxiety dissipates, where you find yourself thinking of other things but then the guilt comes flooding back and the sadness finds its way in, feeling it stronger than before. You lay in bed and close your eyes only to replay those horrific moments over and over again, you find yourself at step one in that moment, having to sit with in all the emotions that brings you right back as if no time has passed at all. You find yourself questioning everything, when is it okay to forgive yourself, when is it okay to be happy again? This process is eye opening and completely changes how you see things and how you move forward.
Wow! Today was DOPE!! Literally the most fun day of competing in my life. Its insane hanging out and competing with you guys. You’re all ANIMALS! Also we gotta do something to get my boys outta that muggy ass hot ass corner haha. Turn up for day ✌🏽 tomorrow!!!
