One day I had half of an 🥑 that needed to be used, so I just threw it in my smoothie (on top of almond butter...cause I can 🤷🏻‍♀️). It was turned out to be the BEST THING EVER 😍 .
Step 1: blend the following to smooth
⚡️2 scoops @primalkitchenfoods chocolate coconut collagen ⛽️ ⚡️1-2 T flax/chia
⚡️1 T almond butter
⚡️1/4-1/2 🥑 ⚡️frozen spinach (ice cold smoothie yes pls)
⚡️1 C almond 🥛

After blending, add 1 T cacao nibs to blend again for just a few seconds for texture. Your smoothie will be like cookie dough 🍪

This is kinda sad to say but in my opinion, 1 out of 20 coaches actually STAY coaches. The rest give up because it takes time, hard work, patience and you constantly have to get out of your comfort zone. They think, “Mmm...whatever it’s okay I didn’t spend much money to start” ..and then throw it all away (including the dreams/goals they told me about💔). I see it ALLL the time, and it hurts me every single time it happens. But you know what ? I keep going !! Are you a hustler ?

they live deep in my freezer in an unassuming tupperware so no one will know where to find them.
i bake them ONLY when alone so there's not even a whiff of them by the time anyone else gets home.
yes, these have been my secret pleasure for a few months now and i am finally ready to share the recipe....
Because I know you'll be just as in love with them as I am. ♥️

CHAI BLONDIE BITES (Paleo, sugar free, dairy free)
wet:
3/4 cup tahini (or other nut/seed butter)
2 eggs (I use @vitalfarms)
1/4 cup @nutiva coconut oil, melted and cooled
2/3 cup chicory root fiber, Just Like Sugar (your favorite sugar alternative powder, coconut sugar, orrrr regular sugar)
dry:
1 cup @bobsredmill almond flour
1/2 cup @greatlakesgelatin collagen (replace with another 1/4 cup almond flour if you want leave out)
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cardamom
1/4 tsp salt
.
1. Heat oven to 350, grease muffin tin or use liners
2. Mix wet together in large bowl
3. Mix dry together in small bowl
4. Add dry to wet and mix it up
5. Pour into muffin tin and bake 15-16 minutes
6. Let cool on rack for 5ish minutes. 
7. Run knife around blondies to release if you didn't use liners.
8. Store in freezer to avoid unwanted intruders.

I did not workout this am. Hence, I’ve been moody and just not feeling right all day. I realize that some people think that’s insane. But I know that others know exactly what I’m talking about! .
That endorphin rush from a great workout sets the tone for my day- everyday! It’s not something that I HAVE to do!  It’s something that I GET TO DO and want to do! .
So after a family time morning and afternoon, I finally got leg day in. I already feel so much better! And now I’ll be able to enjoy a fun filled Pumpkin patch kind of afternoon with my family knowing that I took care of ME today as well! It’s important for my sanity. And yes health too- but really for my mindset and mood! #momlife is hard and we need keep ourselves feeling good inside and out as well! .

When I was a baby, I had a febrile convulsion (had a super high fever around 105 degrees F from teething) in Papa G’s arms. I stopped breathing and started to turn blue. Mama G called 911 and she and one of our neighbours rubbed ice all over me before the firemen + ambulance got there. Papa G doesn’t like to talk about it. ❤️⠀

I’m a big soccer fan. ⚽️ I’ve been playing for over 20 years.⠀

I LOVE to dance. 💃🏻 I used to dance competitively for 10 years (ask me to do a bridge or a back walkover and I’ll likely break my back). I’ll drop it like it’s hot anywhere. 😂⠀

When I was 5, I fell down a huge flight of stairs at home and got up and basically brushed my shoulders off and got ready for school. This was me: 😊 This was my mom: 😲😭⠀

I got put on probation and suspended from UofT for not keeping my grades up. I didn’t know if I wanted to go back but I did. I didn’t want to be a quitter. So, I went back to finish my degree in Sociology and Criminology & Socio-Legal Studies. A year later, I stumbled upon @joyoushealth and IHN and it changed my life. ⠀

I’m obsessed with Frank’s Red Hot. I literally put that shit on everything. When I ask for hot sauce at a restaurant and they bring tabasco sauce, I wish I could get up and leave. 😂⠀

Lastly, something I hope you already know about me is that my approach to life is all about balance. I believe in listening to your body’s cues on when to eat, what to eat and how to eat. You are in charge of you, no one else. Don’t beat yourself up if you eat a hamburger friends (I had one last night and I ain’t ashamed). ⠀

not perfect, but a pretty typical fall meal for me. all of this was meal prepped beforehand but here’s the general idea: roasted the delicata and broccoli at 400 convection (that’s my crispy secret) for about 30 min, flipping halfway. sautéed half a head of cabbage in my @lodgecastiron skillet until crispy on the edges, and cooked the chicken in the same pan after (medium heat, 6 min ish per side). I try to cook my meats right before I eat them to prevent the build up of histamine, but I don’t worry about that for veggies. also I put it all on a bed of arugula bc always arugula. 
I’m going to a vinyasa yoga class later today even tho I feel negative percent like going bc it’s 30 min away and the sole reason I am telling you guys this is so I don’t bail and cancel my class. soooo here’s to holding future Claire accountable lol. I really do need it tho, ya girls hamstrings are tight as heck.

is there anything better than a big warm bowl of soup on a cold rainy day??? literally no. i made this super easy one-pot recipe on sunday and i’ve been eating it all week! use this recipe as a base and feel free to add any veggies you want! highly recommend serving with crusty bread or some yummy crackers.
lentil veggie soup
1 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion (chopped)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp turmeric
3 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
3 carrots (chopped)
3 celery stalks (chopped)
1/2 turnip (peeled and chopped)
1 zucchini (chopped)
1 large can diced tomatoes (28 oz)
2/3 cup french green lentils
5 cups water
large handful of leafy greens (kale, collard greens, spinach)

End of season Roasted Tomatoes, Leeks and Garlic!! So simple and delicious 🍅 2lbs cherry tomatoes 
1 head garlic cloves peeled 
2 leeks washed cut into rounds 
2 tbsp fresh thyme 
1 cup olive oil 
1 tea kosher salt 
Heat oven 350. Place all ingredients in oven safe dish and roast for 50-60 minutes. 
Enjoy as a pasta sauce, toast topper or with grilled veggies/meats.  Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a great weekend 😊

I made pumpkin chili in my crock pot yesterday and it did not disappoint 🍁 
Slow cookers are magical things for sure, makes life so much easier 👏
—𝓡𝓮𝓬𝓲𝓹𝓮—
2 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 lb. ground turkey (TIP: go to TJ’s and get it for like $3!) 2 cans white beans 
2 cans green chilies 
1 can pumpkin purée 
2 garlic cloves, minced 
1 large chopped red onion 
1 tsp. Cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon 
3/4 tsp. Chili powder 
1 1/2 tsp. Ground cumin 
Shredded cheddar, sliced radishes and sour cream for garnish 🌱
—cook for 4-5 hours on high or 6-7 hours on low (better!) and you’re done! Super duper good, not overly pumpkin-y just awesome and perfect for fall 🍁🍂💝

VEGAN ACTIVATED CHARCOAL BANANA BREAD MUFFINS (this recipe makes about 15 muffins)
🎃 400 g ripe bananas (about 4 large)
🎃 188 g all purpose flour (1+1/2 cups)
🎃 1+1/2 tsp baking powder
🎃 1/2 tsp baking soda
🎃 1 tsp cinnamon
🎃 1/4 tsp cloves
🎃 1/4 tsp nutmeg
🎃 1/2 tbsp @rawnice activated charcoal powder** (➡️ use code 'nourishing.andreea' to get 15% off your order at @rawnice)
🎃 70 g brown sugar
🎃 60 ml melted coconut oil (about 4 tbsp)
🎃 a pinch of sea salt

FOR THE GLAZE:
🎃 100 g white chocolate
🎃 1+1/2 tsp @rawnice Dunaliella Salina powder

1. Preheat your oven at 180°C (350° F). 😊

2. Prepare 15 silicone muffin tins. 😉

3. In a bowl mix together all dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, activated charcoal and salt). 😋

4. In another bowl, mash bananas with a fork.

5. Add in melted coconut oil and sugar and mix to combine.

6. Pour wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix gently to combine.

7. Pour batter into prepared tins.

8. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until they're done (mine took 35 minutes to bake, but just to be sure, check them with a toothpick after 35 minutes). 😉

9. For the glaze just melt the white chocolate and mix it with the Dunaliella Salina powder. 🎃

*The eyes, nose and mouth are made out of dark chocolate. The stems are some whole wheat sticks and the leaves are made of Turkish delight. 😊

** Activated charcoal it's very strong and absorbent so, keep at least 90 minutes break between eating it and taking any kind of medication.

Do you like eating noodles out of paper food boxes? As a kid I used to see people do that in movies and always wanted to experience it—with chopsticks, of course. I had my first Chinese takeout food box in California—the experience used to be uniquely American, I think. I loved it. It was part of my travel to-do list when I first visited the US. Is that weird? 🙃
I know it is not Halloween yet, but it is around the corner and I love to give you fun recipes in advance. I am making healthy vegetarian Forbidden Pad Thai Rice Noodles from @lotusfoods  I sauté the noodles with garlic, green onions and sweet red bell peppers and simply season them with salt, pepper and turmeric. The reddish color from the vegetables and spices add that “Halloweenish” effect. You can add either shelled edamame or eggs. I will post this easy recipe on the blog this week so you can make it on Halloween eve. It is fun, easy, and kids and adults alike love it. Happy Friday!!

Red lentil & black bean past w/ creamy beet sauce 🤪
1/2 bag of @traderjoes red lentil pasta + 1/2 bag @traderjoes black bean pasta
1 large roasted beet (or two prepackaged roasted beets- look for ones with beets as the only ingredient)
1/2 cup soaked cashews (soaked in hot water for 30 mins-1 hour)
1/4 cup chickpeas
1/2 onion, sautéd in ghee
1 garlic clove
S&p
- cook the pasta according to instructions + a pinch of salt. blend all other ingredients in a high speed blender, adding warm water as needed. Mix pasta and sauce in a cooking pan. Topped with @kitehillfoods jalapeño cream cheese & arugula for some green 🌿
