Been there! Meal planning has helped tremendously with this problem. I plan out my meals and snacks for the week and make a grocery list to get only what I need. That way I don’t have to waste a bunch of food, and I don’t end up buying things that I won’t eat or will tempt me and keep me from my goals.

I don’t always stick exactly to my plan and I like to make the meals and ingredients flexible incase I feel like changing things or making something different.

Oat milk hot chocolate 🍫

We’ve always been big fans of @oatly oat milk, for smoothies especially and as an alternative to cow’s milk. The ingredients in @oatly are so so good, literally just oats, water and salt, so it’s REAL, unlike most of the nut milks you find in the supermarkets which are filled with random thickeners and other unnecessary ingredients. So I was beyond excited when I discovered @oatly’s new range of whole, semi and skimmed oat milks (particularly as the main issue holding me back from switching to non-dairy milks full time is that I’d not yet found one that is creamy enough, doesn’t separate in tea/coffee and doesn’t cost the earth!!). The @oatly whole milk is super creamy and tastes so so good (nutty and rich). Tonight I made a hot chocolate using it and it was sooo good. Yesterday I spent less than ten minutes in the kitchen on my #sundaymealprep. I put all the ingredients for @deliciouslyella coconut lentil dahl into the slow cooker to cook, steamed a pot of whole grain rice and steamed some green beans and broccoli to have with it. Ten mins (if that) to prepare and a big pot of food to eat for lunches this week. Easy!! Monday ONday! Dit is geen vakantiekiekje. Deze foto heb ik vorige week gemaakt toen ik na de yogales nog even ging zwemmen. Meer dippen eigenlijk want het natuurwater is inmiddels best wel koud geworden (ondanks het zachte weer). Sinds ik 2 jaar geleden in een ijsbad heb gezeten, douche ik elke ochtend koud en ga ik 1 a 2 keer per week het koude water in. Ook in de winter. Jezelf regelmatig blootstellen aan koude is erg goed voor je. Het is de tegenhanger van de sauna zou je kunnen zeggen. Alleen zit er bij de koude training ook nog een mentaal aspect aan. Bij warmte hebben we een fijne associatie en voelen we ons ontspannen. Kou roept het tegenovergestelde in ons op. En daarom is koude training ook voor je mind zo krachtig. Als jouw hele lijf en geconditioneerde brein stijf staat van angst en alles in je zegt: “doe het niet!” moet jij sterk genoeg zijn om tegen jezelf te zeggen dat het ok is. Het is maar koude en daar ga je echt niet dood van (binnen de grenzen van veiligheid uiteraard).
Hoe vaak laten wij ons leiden door angst? Hoeveel kansen en mogelijkheden laten we liggen omdat we bang zijn voor het onbekende? Vaker wel dan niet helaas. Hoe vaak ik wel mensen tegenkom die als de dood zijn om hun eetgewoontes te veranderen? Omdat ze misschien hun bammetje met kaas moeten laten staan. Ze slikken liever ziekmakende medicijnen of laten zich opereren dan dat ze hun voedingspatroon veranderen. Ik kan daar eerlijk gezegd niet bij met mijn brein. Als ik hartje winter, in mijn bikini trillend aan de oever van het meer sta, heb ik echt geen zin om erin te gaan. Maar ik haal een paar keer diep adem en doe het toch. Omdat ik weet hoeveel goeds het mij brengt. Omdat de beloning op de lange termijn GROOT is! En zo is het ook met je leefstijl. Om je goed te blijven voelen moet je erin investeren.
Als jij klaar bent om het pad naar een gezonder eet- en leefpatroon op te gaan, hoop ik dat je bij mij aanklopt.

Te zdjęcia w ogóle nie pasują do mojego instagrama 😂 Wrzucam tutaj głównie zdjęcia zdrowych posiłków. Natomiast nie będę robić z siebie aniołka i wmawiać, że nie zdarza mi się zjeść czegoś mniej zdrowego na mieście, bo oczywiście, że się zdarza! Trzeba mieć świadomość, że największy wpływ na nasz organizm ma to, co jemy na codzień, a nie to co jemy od święta i najważniejsze to zakładać sobie realne cele. Kiedy jesz codziennie tabliczkę czekolady i popijasz colą, to z dnia na dzień będzie strasznie ciężko rzucić nawyki, na które pracowałaś/eś latami. A jak się czujesz, gdy nie udaje Ci się w pierwszych dniach diety, to co sobie postanowiłaś/eś? No beznadziejnie 😣 Potem znowu ciężko będzie Ci się zmotywować do zmian. W takim wypadku, kiedy jesz naprawdę dużo słodyczy zacznij jeść ich o połowę mniej niż zazwyczaj i stopniowo zmniejszaj ilość. Może czekoladę mleczną zastąp gorzką, albo zacznij robić domowe słodycze? Domowe ciasteczka i lody potrafią sprawić dużo frajdy, podczas ich robienia i jedzenia oczywiście! 😋 Nie rzucaj się odrazu na głęboką wodę. ℹ️Sunt aproape sigura de un lucru, multi dintre noi ne gasim in aceeasi situatie aproape zilnic, venim de la job,facultate, scoala, etc. si nu reusim sa gasim timpul necesar pentru a avea grija de noi si de corpul nostru. Ne lasam pe noi pe ultimul loc doar pentru a rezolva probleme temporare-trecatoare, care pe viitor ne pot aduce mici probleme de sanatate. 
Toate acestea doar pentru ca ne starduim sa ne impartim in prea multe locuri si nu ne planificam evenimentele. 🤭

Incearca sa iti aloci macar ⌛️ 30 min in weekend pentru ati prepara mancarea pentru urmatoarele 3 zile, ar fi un progres si vei vedea cat de mult iti va infuenta eficienta de lucru.

☺️ Eu mi-am pregatit duminica urmatoarele mese pentru amaiaza adica  pentru luni, marti si miercuri. Mi-a luat aprox 40 min. si iata rezultatul. Sper ca aceste cateva poze si modele sa te inspire si pe tine. Iti doresc o zi frumoasa!

✅ Luni: 50g orez basmatic brun, 50g guacamole, 50g soia cuburi , 100g mix fasole si naut (din conserva); ✅Marti si miercuri: 170g cartofi dulci + dovleac placintar (butternut squash) la cuptor cu 70g broccoli (fiert usor) si 50g varza rosie (cruda)  cu marar si otet !

My dad had a smile and kind words for everyone he met. He was brilliant, funny, and lived an incredibly healthy lifestyle...before it was the “crunchy” thing to do. During his battle with cancer, we learned together about toxins in our environment and in our foods. We had deep conversations and lots of laughs. He was so strong in heart and body, that he never even stopped exercising during treatment. His doctors allowed him to walk, but not run...so the day he was done with chemo, he laced up his shoes and went for a two mile run.

He encouraged me to adopt a more holistic lifestyle. He was the reason I began running a few months later...to pull myself out of my heavy depression following his passing. He was the reason for so many lifestyle changes for myself and my family. Today and always, I honor my dad by taking care of myself, my family, and paying it forward by sharing what I’ve learned about health, toxins, healing, and prevention. That’s what he wanted me to do. ❤️

I was amazed to see this huge 24 hr gym completely empty when walking the streets of Toronto late the other night. Not a single soul was present.

Granted, it was past midnight, but not one drop of sweat from someone inching closer towards their dreams could be found.

I haven't stopped thinking about this image since. I wonder why no one was there.

Maybe healthy living is not as much of a priority as I thought? Maybe a busy work life really does get in the way? It's too impossible to find the time needed to pursue our goals, between work, kids, and our own needs. Or on the other end of the spectrum, maybe our health dreams are just too big to tackle all at once. When we don't see the immediate change we've longed for - the effort doesn't seem worth the struggle.

There is definitely a complex relationship between our time, our goals and our effort when thinking about our health journey. Lots of questions still, but I wonder (even when thinking about my own weight loss) what motivates a person to continue achieving their dreams? ... even when it becomes too hard to think of taking another step towards them.

What would motivate me or you to be in that gym when no one else is looking?

I was amazed to see this huge 24 hr gym completely empty when walking the streets of Toronto late the other night. Not a single soul was present. Wat is er lekkerder op een regenachtige herfstavond dan een paddestoelen risotto? Met extra kaas en een flinke scheut van de beste olijfolie die je kunt vinden 😍💚🥰Voor mij is risotto echt #comfortfood maar ik ben ook daarin kieskeurig. Met paddestoelen vind ik het toch wel het lekkerst en dan bedoel ik de wilde paddestoelen. 🍄
Deze risotto is overigens met bruine rijst gemaakt. Volkoren rijst is rijk aan vezels en belangrijke voedingsstoffen. Het behoort tot de langzame koolhydraten en hiermee tot de betere energiebronnen (in tegenstelling tot witte rijst). 🌾
