Starting to feel like myself again... When I first moved back to Detroit from DC, oddly all things Fitness was 🚮.

I was running around for the studio, meetings for my education business, meetings with the small businesses I work with (I do small business development), family affairs, and not having a set schedule threw me off. I wasn’t meal prepping, eating fast food 4-5 days a week. Working out 1-2 times a week, the weeks I could workout. My sleep pattern was trash. I was drinking water though 👍🏾...

Now that I’m back working out regularly, meal prepping, still working on my sleep schedule but it’s a lot better, and have a schedule/routine my body is showing me that it’s thankful.

The Feast to Feast program is not strict or intense but when diligent you can certainly make great strides.

Okay not going to lie...I slipped up. I haven't weighed myself since this weekend. I'm a receptionist for a doctor who's patients really love him so they've been bringing in all sorts of goodies and it's been hard to resist. I'm back on track now and it's been 24 hours since I've had any goodies. I have a piece of dark chocolate in my desk drawer but I have a bet with myself to see how long I can keep it there. Today so far I've had coffee and some hamburger patties without katchup or buns and I'm at 14 net carbs for today. I think I'm ready to weigh myself in the morning. I skipped breakfast because I had a late dinner last night and wasn't hungry. I'm getting better at only eating when I'm hungry and not freaking out at the first sign of hunger. I'm so ready for a more healthy me!

I’m sure many of you have seen me post about my ‘mind-body warrior’ program that I created as an extension of my wellness business. Some of you have even attended a workshop with Carter and I and we are incredibly grateful for those opportunities. HARVEST TIME! 🥕 Look what we found in our garden this morning! A juicy carrot for Isabelle to enjoy. We have been checking patiently every day (!) on these little gems and they are finally big enough to enjoy. Growing veggies and fruit is a great way for kids to become truly connected to the food they eat (rather than just grabbing a bag of them from the supermarket). We’ve got an obsession with rabbits at the moment (especially Bing, Peter Rabbit and Miffy), so carrots fit well with the theme! Seeing Isabelle happily munching on this home grown beauty is such a lovely thing to see. Ahhh... it’s the small things isn’t !?!?!

We just want to remind you that you can do it! You can stick to your healthy habits. You can balance the better food choices with those oh so yummy holiday favorites. We just want your to be conscious of the food you are eating and your nutrition choices.

What does conscious nutrition mean? We define it has being aware and present of what and how much you eat. Taking the moments to enjoy and savor the food you have chosen to fuel your body with. Not just scarfing down a meal in five minutes.

How do we do that? Follow these simple rules - slow down - pause take a moment before you start eating. Find time in the moment for this meal.
- sit down - seems simple but we aren’t talking in a car on the steps. We mean a table where you can sit and focus on the meal at hand.
- Chew your food! Like your mom always taught you. Take lots of bites break things down. Your poops and gut  will thank you later - eat slowly - yes we live fast lives but take time for food. Otherwise you will miss and suffer the consequences of hunger and cravings. So take 20 min to eat not 30s - Enjoy! This is two fold. Not only the food but also the company. This way you embrace the food and slow down. You don’t want to be the one caught with a big mouthful when you need a snappy comeback. So enjoy the company and savor the good food!

Y'all, last night was hard for me. I was so down and really just in a hole from all the stress I put on myself from school, work, the wedding 👰(HUGE amount from that) and I just had a really tough time fighting for a positive mindset. I went to bed before 9pm, didn't eat dinner and couldn't even communicate to my loving fiancé how I was feel. I just shut down.

We all struggle and that's okay. Self care is so important when it comes to my happiness, and it's something a lot of people tend to feel guilty about doing and they shouldn't. Taking time to take care of you is essential. You can't pour from an empty cup. .

Today I'm feeling much better, and to get started on the right foot, I'm drinking my super foods, having my cup of coffee and being thankful for having another day where I can work on being my best self.

i’ve been trying to be much better with my diet during phase two and i think i’ve been doing better with less sugar. not perfect obviously but better! i’ve been following my portion containers more closely and i’ve been cutting back on my coffee as well! it’s all about building healthier habits 💕

I seriously procrastinated doing my workout this morning.  I was making videos in "stories", talking on the phone, scrolling through fb and instagram, taking pictures.....hell I even washed a floor! .
I think it's safe to say I wasn't in the mood.  I was feeling gross, tired, negative, weepy...find an adjective and I was that.  Thankfully I finally stopped that BS going on in my brain and just did it!
