😒Some people are always going to comment on what you eat because food is a lot like politics. While the comments aren’t always bad… I just think they’re unnecessary at times. Everyone has their opinions - some people share them openly and some people don’t. Sometimes it’s easy to brush off and sometimes it’s not.

It’s been fun Keto! In the last few months, I have learned to count calories 📈, watch my macros 📊, and some serious portion control 🥗. Now it’s time to give my body everything that it needs 💪🏻, not just certain things. Calorie counting and minimal carbs will continue, but I’m not going to be so strict and concerned with high fat foods. Let’s see how this goes! 😆 For breakfast was a delicious green smoothie made with banana 🍌, green apple 🍏 , cucumber 🥒 , spinach 🌱, honey 🍯 , apple cider vinegar, and coconut 🥥 water 💦 .
I haven’t been able to get enough of quinoa tabbouleh salads this summer! They’re so easy to make, filling, nutritious, great to keep as leftovers or to bring to work/school, plus they’re super modifiable (you can use any whole grain instead of quinoa + any assortment of raw veg)😊// In my bowl: a large batch of quinoa, chopped cucumber, vine-ripened cherry tomatoes, carrots, chopped parsley, avocado, lemon juice, olive oil, herbamare + pepper ❤️ happy Monday loves!

Sandwiches offer an endless number of ways to hit up all the important food groups during your lunch break at work ... JUST as long as you’re doing them right! 👌🏻
Push aside heavily processed ingredients like mayo, lunch meats and white sliced bread, and get laser-focused on using fresh, flavorful healthy ingredients instead to seriously up your sammie game.
This #mealprepsunday , I made some healthy panini-inspired sandwiches for the week using the following for each:
🔹 2 slices @Angelicbakehouse sprouted whole grain sliced bread (14g whole grains at just 60 calories per slice; found at @Costco for just $7 for 3 bags!)
🔹 5-6 leaves of organic baby spinach
🔹 1 slice @Belgioiosocheese pre-sliced fresh mozzarella
🔹 1 slice roasted red pepper
🔹 1 tsp basil pesto
When you’re done assembling all the sandwiches on the inside, lightly brush both outer sides of each one with olive oil (no butter, please 😉), then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, crushed basil, and a pinch of Parmesan cheese. Then throw ‘em on a panini press (or a heated pan) and heat until they’re as crispy as you like ‘em!
Want more protein? Just add 3 oz of grilled chicken strips while you’re stacking your ingredients.
One last lunch packing tip: To make sure your sammies stay crispy, let them cool completely on a wire rack before you wrap them up and stow them in your fridge. Wrapping them while they’re still warm will make them soggy and gross!

Been looking for some organic 🌽 and finally found some at the farmers market. Made this Mexican style 🥗 for lunch, organic mixed greens, grass fed beef seasoned with cumin, chili powder, garlic+onion, and pink salt, red pepper, roasted cherry tomatoes, potatoes, avo, @primalkitchenfoods ranch, EVOO, and goat milk feta.
Love your liver with this creamy coconut beet raspberry smoothie that is dairy free and full of healthy fats.

A #mondaymotivation tip from me to you. Keep it simple! I ran to the grocery store and grabbed a pack of sausages and steam in the bag broccoli. I added some salt and ghee to make a quick and healthy #Keto lunch! Was it perfect? No. It was the best I could do with the time I have today. Food doesn’t have to be overly complicated to nourish you. When in doubt find a protein, pick a vegetable and add a little fat. You will be full for hours!
Good morning gorgeous souls. Do you ever have those morning where you wake up starving. Well today is that morning I am loving this Asian inspired slaw recipe I’m thinking dinner tonight. Here’s the recipe.
Preparation time: 45 min
1 red onion thinly sliced
½ small cabbage, shredded
1 tsp salt
5 cups of water
250 left over roast chicken, or 1 large chicken breast, shredded
3 sprigs of Vietnamese mint
10 Kaffir lime leaves, finely sliced
3 sprigs coriander, finely chopped
¼ cup peanuts
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp garlic chopped
1 tbsp shallots, chopped
2 tbsp sugar (optional)
½ cup warm water
1-2 drops Lemon essential oil
1 drop Lime essential oil
¼ cup carrots, sliced into matchsticks
½ tbsp. red chilli, chopped
1 tbsp talt
½ tsp pepper
Soak shredded cabbage and onions in salted water for 30 minutes, drain and gently squeeze or use a salad spinned to draw out any extra moisture
Fry garlic and shallots until golden brown then drain for garnish, keeping the oil for the dressing
Mix all dressing ingredients then stand for 5 minutes
Combine the cabbage, onion, chicken and herbs together with the dressing. Garnish with toasted peanuts, fried shallots and garlic.

true story: ran out of bread this morning so i improvised with this THICK almond flour protein pancake 😉🥞🍞☁️💕 and lemme tell you, best idea ever! 🤩.
1/4 cup almond meal
2 tbsp quinoa flakes
1 big tbsp ricotta or skillet tofu
1 tbsp vanilla protein powder
1 egg or flax egg
almond milk, to bind
combine together in a bowl. cook in a little coconut oil over a low heat. top with sweet or savoury goodness 😍 bread problems, solved 💯❤️
Stay hydrated! Something I constantly say to clients, because its extreme important for your health, and just drinking sufficient amounts a day can make a huge positive difference to your health...
Just some benefits of staying hydrated: Healthy skin, better digestion, flushes out of toxins, keeps electrolytes balanced (which play a big part in your energy levels and mood) and much more...
Yet most still complain(make excuses) it's hard to drink enough throughout the day.
So my recommendation is to add more vegetables and fruits that have high amounts of water in to their diets. For instance like this salad of cucumbers and cabbage.
Other veggies and fruits that are high in water are: pears, watermelon, cantaloupe, celery, grapefruit, bell peppers, tomatoes, spinach, and strawberries.
Now how much water should you be drinking a day? There are lots of different theories out there, the one that i've found good results with is: Drink half your weight in ounces. If you are sweating a lot from your workouts or cause of heat, then add 1-2 more cups a day.
So stay hydrated and cheers to your health!

I used @eatbanza ‘s pasta shells, @sietefoods cashew queso spicy blanco & fiesta crumbles using @lightlifefoods tempeh(recipe is on my website). I topped it with avocado, red onion, purple cabbage, tomato, cilantro, extra cashew cheeze sauce (recipe on my website) + crushed @sietefoods nacho chips.

My usual lunches look a lot like this!
Thrown-together bowls with veggies, carbs, some sort of sauce/oil, & seasoning. It’s efficient and often what I’m craving! Easy breezy, ya know? .
TO MAKE SWEET POTATO ROUNDS:
1.) preheat oven to 450F
2.) slice potato into rounds
3.) lightly oil (not too much, or they won’t get crispy!) & season lightly with paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and sea salt.
4.) bake for 18-22 minutes or until they reach your desired level of crispy 😛

BYOL. build. your. own. lasagna. it’s a thing👆🏻whipped up all the components last night, put em in bowls and my sisters and I went to town layering stacks on stacks of zucchini noodles, raw almond&cashew “ricotta”, sun-dried tomato and walnut “meat”, pine nut basil pesto and fresh tomato sauce from 🍅 from the garden topped it with some sprouts🌱 and had a side kale salad. #meatlessmonday

Food has always been important to me. Since I was a little boy you could find me in the #kitchen experimenting. My lasagnas were quite famous. Just like the total chaos I left behind. Sorry about that mom! .
Little did I know back then about the effect food has on the body. The times are changing though. I like to approach food in a similar fashion as I do #workingout . Work hard; get smart. You don’t need to starve yourself or surpress carbs to #loseweight or fat. It’s quite the opposite actually. You need to eat carbohydrates with every meal to raise blood sugar so your body will start making #insulin . Read about that. Insulin is considered to be the main #anabolic#hormone of the human body that regulates the #metabolism of carbohydrates, fat and #protein . Low insulin levels will get your body in a catabolic state where you’ll burn mainly fat and also proteins. Understand this process to be able to use it to your advantage. Feel free to ask me about it. I am more than happy to help you on your way 🙋♂️.

We had such a fabulous day yesterday @wanderlustfest Boston! 5k, over an hour of yoga, and a half hour of meditation all on the Esplanade. It was just magical and so incredibly refreshing 🌟 🧘♀️ and these bowls of course hit the spot post-run 👌🏼
