Ada: How many years have you been natural, ? Just 9 months 😂 and you notice she already has a high bun.
What of you Carol ? She asks.
I have been natural for four years. Four years! She exclaimed 😂. Taking a look at your hair , she probably couldn’t tell because it looked like her lenght when it was just 2 months 😜. .
Why is your hair so short, yet You have been natural for so long she asks. Is it that your hair is not growing.
You come across @allthingsnatuaralbyemi and you send her a DM.
I need help with my hair, it’s not growing. That’s what I always hear.
Today I want to educate you on what the problem is because it definitely not that your hair is not growing. Everyone ‘s hair grows, though at different growth rate.
The problem is that You are not retaining any length. If you retain lenght even if your rate of growth is not as fast as Ada, you will surely still experience an increase in your hair lenght each month.
I must say, its high time you stop being such a lazy natural and get it together! It’s time to learn what needs to be done to retain.
I know there will always be the Ada’s in the house that do nothing but just seem to retain much length in so short a time, but why follow her method when it’s not working for you. All hair textures are different. Some by genes have hair that is resistant to breakage, but some of us need to work at it to achieve what we desire. To me the most important thing is that I achieve my goal. .
HOW TO RETAIN HAIR LENGTH .
1. Wash in Sections:
Washing hair in sections is a must. It helps prevent knots and tangles, especially if you have hair that shrinks a lot. Washing your hair all at once leads to things like single strand knots and breakage, and is one of the reasons why you don’t retain length. Washing in sections also helps with detangling.
2. Comb/Detangle on Wet/Damp Hair:
You should NEVER, I repeat, NEVER comb your hair when its dry. You’re just asking for your hair to snap, crackle, and pop. You’re hair doesn’t need to be soaking wet when you comb or detangle, but it should also never be bone dry. .
