Lie on your back with knees bent, feet flat on flooring. Tighten your stomach by contracting it as though you were getting ready for a punch. You'll feel your back pushing into the floor, and your hips and pelvis rocking back. Hold for 10 seconds while breathing in and out efficiently. Repeat 8 to 12 times.

Your thoracic spine is so important when you are a basketball player. Every time you shoot the ball, jump up for a rebound, block a shot, go Up for a dunk or raise your arms on defense your need flexibility to achieve that thoracic extension. 
Every time you rotate, pivot twist to protect the ball or hit the ball away on defense, you need good thoracic mobility to achieve that rotation.

In today’s world, unfortunately we are seeing many athletes (as young as five! Yes five years old!) with poor cervical and thoracic posture and lack the mobility and flexibility required to comfortably achieve these positions.

There are MANY great mobility exercises and stretches you can do to improvise this, add THESE to your list. I love these because they are easy and effective. They help achieve that great stretch while getting great isometric tension.

Today I'm still hurting, even more after I picked up one of my kids at school.  so tonight  I'm drinking  a herbal anti inflammatory  smoothie.
Took a few pills and sleeping with my firend heating  pad.

Deadlift positioning is imperative:

Walk to the bar. Stand with your mid-foot under the bar.

Grab the bar. Bend over with a soft knee

Bend your knees. Drop into position by bending your knees until your shins touch the bar. 
Broaden your chest, expanding like you're popping open an umbrella.

Pull. Take a big breath, hold it and stand up with the weight, keeping the bar against your leg all the way up. •Then reverse the process to set the barbell down again.

Although this is very impressive, you have to understand where he started this journey to really value where he is now. ▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️About 11 months ago @cornelykevin saw his first #powerlifting competition.  We had deadlifted before but not with the focus of training it as a #skill .  He was now interested in seeing what kind of weights he could #lift.  So we practice 1x/week deadlifting and in 2 weeks we will be ready to test a new max! #staytuned ▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️▶️ please note: Kevin also does his #mobility homework every day and spends 20min of each deadlift session on #functionalmobility . Пришло время рассказать про горячо любимую мною @milana_dg и нежный период её беременности😊
Милана доверила мне сопровождать её в один из самых трогательных периодов в жизни девушки - ожидании первого малыша👶🏻🍼
Тренироваться мы старались регулярно, в мягком формате, с акцентом на дыхательные и расслабляющие упражнения🧘🏼‍♀️
Без преувеличения скажу, что Милана - идеальная беременная🏆Эмоциональная лабильность и тревожность, столь свойственные и нормативные для данного преиода жизни, не влияли на наш союз и тренировочный процесс! Ещё раз спасибо @milana_dg за моральную устойчивость👌
С беременностью Милы связана ещё одна чудесная история😊. Малышка Лея, которой сейчас уже почти 8 месяцев, будучи ещё в животе, перевернулась, и вместо 'правильного' положения головой вниз🙃, оказалась головой вверх🙂и удобно сидела вместе с мамой(тазовое предлежание)🙀
Поэтому последние месяцы мы практиковали упражнения, способствующие тому, чтобы ребенок, перед приходом в наш чудесный мир🙋🏻‍♀️🌏, расположился правильно. Некоторое время у нас ничего не получалось, но на одном из последних УЗИ случилось 'чудо', малышка сделала сальто, за 5 часов до родов, и очутилась головой вниз🎉🎉🎉
Много факторов могло на это повлиять, но я искренне верю в Пилатес, поэтому часть заслуг приписываю именно ему😊
Теперь малышка Лея уже подрастает, сама встает и пробует совершать первые шаги. А героиня- Милана🎖 вернулась к тренировкам @felsendorff_pilates через месяц после родов, за полгода похудела на 20 кг и радует окружающих своей спортивной формой, покладистым нравом и волей к победе💪⭐️
Такая вот чудесная история про спокойную беременность, детское сальто в животе, революционное восстановление и счастливое материнство. Люблю истории с Happy End'ом😉

Our arms and hands connect us to the external world (and not our iPhones!), the shoulder blades (and clavicles) connect the arms to the body. The Flying Eagle exercices give the spine and shoulders so much freedom (strength, stability and flexibility) to move in space. I’m sure your pecs need a good stretch @pilates_co !  #oov

Suitcase Lunges… let’s chat about these bad boys. I ❤️ them because they allow me to go heavy… but for newbies, I’m more likely to suggest going with a weight that can be held either in racked position or goblet (holding 1 kettlebell with 2 hands above the chest)

Why? Because even though these are great, they are easy to get wrong. The weight can make it easy to drop the shoulders and curve the back. Ever woken up with a sore back after lunges? That’s why.

The trick is to make sure to keep the shoulders pulled back through activating the delts, traps and lats. It’s okay to lean forward a little with lunges as long as it’s through a hip hinge where the spine is kept straight instead of hunching and curving.

Changing the world, one calf stretch at a time! 😜  This is a great stretch for desk-workers as it not only stretches the calf muscle but the entire back line of the body thus benefitting the feet, hamstrings, lower back and neck as well - all the usual tension spots for desk-workers. 💻If you don't have a foam dome (pictured), you can use a rolled-up towel, book or make your own from a foam roller. Shoe-less is best. And as often as possible. 🖲Keep your heel on the floor and rest the ball of the foot onto the dome without gripping with your toes. Place the other foot parallel to the stretching foot or behind it if you start to bend forward or thrust your ribs. Over time - and with repeated exposure!- you'll be able to place the parallel foot further in front of the stretching foot. Try to keep both feet pointing forward and your knees from bending. 📞You can incorporate this stretch into any time already spent standing at a desk or making phone calls. No extra time for stretching required - you're standing there anyway, right? Changing the world, one calf stretch at a time! 😜 This is a great stretch for desk-workers as it not only stretches the calf muscle but the entire back line of the body thus benefitting the feet, hamstrings, lower back and neck as well - all the usual tension spots for desk-workers. 💻If you don't have a foam dome (pictured), you can use a rolled-up towel, book or make your own from a foam roller. Shoe-less is best. And as often as possible. 🖲Keep your heel on the floor and rest the ball of the foot onto the dome without gripping with your toes. Place the other foot parallel to the stretching foot or behind it if you start to bend forward or thrust your ribs. Over time - and with repeated exposure!- you'll be able to place the parallel foot further in front of the stretching foot. Try to keep both feet pointing forward and your knees from bending. 📞You can incorporate this stretch into any time already spent standing at a desk or making phone calls. No extra time for stretching required - you're standing there anyway, right? Pelvic tilt refers to the alignment of your hips to your spine. In some specific cases, we may want to exaggerate an anterior (forward) or posterior (backward) tilt, but the majority of the time we want to achieve “neutral pelvis.” So take a peek at the examples shown, and think how your body looks/feels when you’re doing them. Then make adjustments each time you feel yourself falling “out of alignment.”
