On the left, made with almond flour. On the right, quinoa flour. Texture was great for both! I always add more spice. For some reason the almond flour version is less flavourful. Will add even more spice when I make it again. Only sugar is 1/4 cup maple syrup, so it probably works out to less than a tablespoon per slice. -

Today I truly felt like a momma to be 👶🏻 I had my preggo pants on all the way to my boobs and I even rocked my mom top. I felt all the aches and pains from standing and running around, but my favorite part was truly seeing my belly start pop. .

But even with all the aches, nothing has felt more amazing than being pregnant 🤰🏼 I have never felt more beautiful or more confident in my entire life. Anthony looks at me more deeply and the love he has for me has grown since telling him that he’s going to be a daddy. This has been my favorite journey by far.

I have the DAY OFF!!!! And, I got to spend the morning talking to Sister. We talked about all the things, y’all. All. The. Things. We talked about how hard life can be sometimes. Whether we have a really taxing job, in a job we hate, or still trying to figure out our career paths...... whether we love our family, our coworkers, and ourselves; or wish we could change everything about everyone… we have options. 
1. To continue on exactly as we are. 
2. To change something. 
3. To simply except everything exactly as it is… both the good and the bad.

Sometimes change is the answer. Sometimes changing your diet and activity level, changing jobs, changing relationships, or changing career paths is EXACTLY the right thing to do. But sometimes the answer is acceptance. Sometimes we simply need to accept ourselves exactly as we are. Accept our bosses, our colleagues, and our loved ones exactly as they are. Sometimes we choose to accept. Sometimes we choose change… and sometimes, y’all…. we just don’t know what to do, so we just keep going exactly as things are until an answer becomes clear. If you’re struggling with any of this today, I hope you get clarity. For me I get clarity when I work out. It’s my me time. My time to stop thinking. My time just use my whole entire body and get completely exhausted, so that I can finally rest in the quiet of my mind. If you’re struggling today with life or love or anything else, I encourage you to do something that allows you to use up all of your nervous energy so you may sit in stillness. Delicious, protein-packed pasta in 10 MINUTES! 🍝

Pasta is one of my favorite comfort foods, and it’s even better when I can make it high-protein, high-fiber, and lightening-fast ⚡️ Not to mention it’s a one-pot meal 🙌🏼

Here’s how to make it:

Boil a box of @eatbanza chickpea Rotini for 7 minutes, then drain and turn to med-low heat.
.
Stir in 2/3 of a jar of pasta sauce (I love @muirglen because it has no added sugar).
.
Add 2 huge handfuls of baby spinach🍃(chop it up first if you want🔪) and stir until the spinach softens.
.
This makes 2-4 servings, depending on how ravenous you are 😏 I just threw some in a bowl and sprinkled feta cheese on top💁🏽‍♀️YUM!

Hiding behind the kale is a hydrochloric acid (stomach acid) capsule with added gentian root powder (@viridian brand from @wholefoods) because my stomach acid is still low from a long period of stress & swallowing chlorine while practising with my synchronised swimming team (switched to ballet to give my body some💞). A lot of people's stomach acid is low these days. @hormonesbalance book is fabulous and gives guidance how to safely test if you need a top up. You can also do it with a little lemon/lime juice before meals

Enjoyed in half an hour of autumn sunshine for a vit D top up (the happy vitamin I call it - needed for serotonin production, which is the 'happy' hormone). Most people in the UK are deficient & suffer greatly from low mood in the winter.

How this is super healthy for brain & body:

KALE: cruciferous veg are BRAIN FOOD! Plus super cleansing getting any toxins from poor air quality, plastics & the like, out out out please!

LACTOSE FREE CHEESE: did you know various types of cheese are actually lactose free? Cheddar & parmesan are aged for so long that it disappears. And I recently discovered mozzarella is (SCORE!). Saturdays, man. Nothing like diving into a smoothie like this before heading to barre class 🤗 (which you know is going to kick your a** since you skipped for two weeks) 😴 Just threw all my fav smoothies ingredients in a blender and some @super_beets for some extra energy and there you have it!

Ingredients: 1 C blackberries, handful frozen spinach, 1 C unsweetened almond milk, 1 scoop @vitalproteins collagen, 1 tbs chia seeds and 1 scoop @super_beets beetroot powder!

With all the physical work we do, both of us with previous injuries that rear their ugly heads on a daily basis, our body's are screaming to be adjusted!

Running this trail at one point used to be punishment. A means of compensating for last night’s binge. Today it was a means of reward for my healthy habits the day before that had me feeling all energized & pumped to challenge myself with this trail run! I did it because I felt great! Whereas before I did it because I felt like I had to.⠀

I used to run half marathons so running was a very regular thing. Nowadays my extent of running is treadmill or track sprints about every 2 weeks.⠀

Yesterday I felt this urge to run & also to be in the forest🌲 which spurred this trail run.⠀
⠀
Aaaaaaaaaaah it was so nice. I ran because it felt good. And walked when I was feeling gased. No pressure to beat a certain time or run my ass off because I’d eaten the “world” yesterday. It was intuitive. Still a challenge DEFINITELY. But a fun challenge (as my clients say... my idea of fun and yours is different😌). I had enough breath to whistle a few times, literally jump & click my heels & jam out to some Bibio on a low volume setting because SAFETY & bears 🐻 & cougars😳 No sightings, thank goodness!!⠀
