So normal pic of me last night going for some food 🤷🏼‍♀️this is the first time in my life I'm wearing a size 10 😱The point here is not that I think a 10 is big or OMG I'm wearing a 10 but as women we have to embrace our ever changing bodies. As an adult I've always been a standard 6 on average. I've put my body through some pretty extreme regimes through the years, having a baby, 3 years breastfeeding, then shrinking down to a teeny tiny size 4 last year for bodybuilding. What's funny is when people see your 'flexed' pics they automatically assume that's how you look but in reality you are a very tiny human! ( fellow bb will know) 😉 so my point is no matter what shape and size you are currently, own it, focus on health and well being and the rest will follow. I'd say I feel the best I've ever felt in my body but I've pretty much loved myself in every shape and size 💁🏼#curvelife #loveyourself #fitmum #nofilter #healthfirst

It's been awhile since I have posted about my own personal health journey. This is my progress so far. Let me start by telling you that it's a process. Nothing comes overnight and nothing stays overnight. You constantly have to work for what you want and it's so hard to stay committed. In the picture on the right I really struggled to be comfortable in my own skin. I had low self esteem and wasn't living a healthy lifestyle. I could barely keep up with my kids. Little things were a challenge for me like getting up off the floor from playing with my kiddos. I was always tired. I knew I had to do something. 
The girl on the right is where I'm at now. I have overcame so many things in this process. Have I always loved this process? Heck no! But do I love this process now? Yes I do! I love that I was able to lose some weight. I love that I was able to get my energy levels up. I love that I can actually keep up with my kiddos most of the time. Ras is quick as shit. 😂 But overall I love that I love myself. It takes alot to get to that point. It took alot to get to this point of loving myself. I was my own worst enemy. So my point of it all is to love the process. Learn to love yourself in all stages of the process. As tough as that can be just do it. I can't wait to now beat the girl on the left cause I know I have more in store for myself. The journey continues on.

The left....sick. Like really, really sick all the time. ⠀
(13) total prescriptions, monthly doctor appointments, always being referred to a {new}specialist for a {new} problem. Anxious, depressed, riddled with daily migraines which brought frustration and anger towards everyone around me. Stomach issues, sleep issues, vitamin deficiency, constant pain and shortness of breath to just walk up a flight of stairs, and an unhealthy addiction to sugar and alcohol. Lowest weight: 118⠀

The middle....menopause. The set-back. ⠀
What an awful, awful thing to have to go through. As much as I tried to embrace it as a “natural progression” the changes to my body weren’t as embraceable. Let’s face it, as women we want to look a certain way. Maybe it’s shallow, but it’s REAL. And despite all of my efforts, I just didn’t have the right combination. Something was “off”. So after a messy breakup with my doctor (I kid), I went back for blood work. ⠀
Guess what, I needed a tiny low dose hormone.⠀ And I learned that sometimes there are prescriptions that you need. Max weight: 209⠀

The last....balance. The right supplements, proper eating, working out and fueling my body like the machine it’s meant to be. And guess what, it runs beautifully. Life changing!⠀ It’s actually empowering to look back and see how far I’ve come, the hell I’ve went through to make it where I am today.... #consistency I didn’t give up. To have the want, the courage, the drive and desire to keep going, taking my journey to the next level. Yes, it’s very empowering. New weight: 167⠀

This past week I had a huge reality check that made me realize how much I was taking my body for grant it. I had become extremely ill and my body was being attacked in all directions. My face was swollen and unrecognizable, my body was weak and in pain, I couldn’t eat due to nausea, my ears were clogged, breathing was difficult and painful, and to move took effort, a ton of effort. I was so upset to see myself in such a condition. What have I done to myself?

I had gone from working out 5 days a week to being unable to move. I went from being embarrassed about walking out with some makeup on my face to begging God to have my face just look normal. I had never been so desperate to see the dark circles under my eyes reappear...when I was able to see me again, I rejoiced! I also apologized to myself for ever hating what I saw and I made a promise to myself to fully embrace my God-given beauty, dark circles, bags and all. I also made a pledge to go out more often without makeup, because why hide natural beauty?

I also made the same pledge and promise to my body - to never hate it or criticize it ever again. Instead I choose to embrace it, stretch marks at all. It has done so so much for me and yet I’ve neglected it. I’ve overworked it, put it through a shitload of stress, stopped nourishing it properly and just pushed it past its limit. The moment I was able to stand and walk without hurting, I praised God for the healing and then embraced myself, literally, grateful to have it back and in decent health. At that moment I realized I needed to change how I was taking care of my body... and that I did! I’m eating healthier, resting when I need to, meditating, walking at the beach, reading, and just living in the moment!

One of the worst things that can happen and ruin a trip is getting sick during your travels. 
Someone who can tell you ALL about that is my twin brother (photo of him currently travelling)! He does a fair bit of travelling and even though he doesn’t like to admit it, E-V-E-R-Y trip he falls sick with something. I always hit him up about it; “your not looking after yourself”. It got to a point where he felt he had to lie, 🙅🏻‍♂️”I haven’t been sick in ages!” A week after, I visit my parents and mum tells me “Geoffs health is not the best, you should talk to him about it, last month when he came home he was bedridden with a cold the whole visit.” … *grabbed my phone 🙎🏻‍♀️ “You are such a liar!” … 
Anyway, his last overseas trip he was hospitalised for 2 weeks after spending 2 weeks in South East Asia. That was when he finally accepted that his immunity and detoxification system wasn’t the best!

He’s doing a bit of an overseas stint at the moment and just bought a one way ticket so who knows how long he will be away for. Knowing his history of travel sickness, this long trip was concerning for me and my family, especially because he’s going to a bunch of places with exceptionally poor hygiene. And SO … I stocked him up with some probiotic, herbal and nutritional supplements that would optimise his immunity and health.

He’s been away for 1 month now travelling from NZ to Malaysia, Taiwan, China & India. Then he’s going to Nepal, Kenya & South America is likely to follow. Even though it’s only been a fraction of his travel, I can tell you that, usual scenario, he would have fallen sick by now. But he’s been in order all this time and the worst days have just been furry friends triggering his allergies. 
I was super glad yesterday when he told me that he hadn’t been sick (this time he wouldn’t lie, because if he did get sick he would tell me that what I gave him didn’t work haha 🤦🏻‍♀️). I’m meeting him in Nepal in just over a month so will be stocking him up with these happy travelling supplements!

O.D.ing myself with vitamin Orange. Cause someone told me that Orange meringue pie, Orange sponge cake, Orange cupcakes, Orange fudge, Orange sorbet and Orange tart would boost my system a little bit. Adding cloves, cinnamon or vanilla.... and Vavavooom you go! (Yeah, I'll start with an Orange JUICE first and wait till 'someone' can bake me some of one or all above).
