I returned from a vacation with a body that was 80% wine and prosecco, and 20% bread and pastry. This trip had me get real cosy with way too much wine, multiple desserts at every meal, and little to no movement, so I returned with broken-out skin, a rosacea flare-up, a very bloated belly, and three additional kilos knocking about my body.

In a truly heaven-sent and divinely ordained move, @antidotedrinks sent me a message last week about a special “skin cleanse” they’ve just launched which is, let’s be honest, something I’d be interested in any time, but really, really well-timed and welcome this week in particular. #TakeYourTonic

What is your intention for the week ahead? .

This week I’m all about releasing my story and moving up to the next place. I believe that we are all work in progress and everyday there is a new lesson to learn. Yoga taught me the importance of being present and helped me to find my voice. Throughout my daily Yoga practice and my dedication to become a health coach  I got to know so much about myself and reached high levels  of wholeness and oneness. The more I stand in that stable place from within the more I can give from the heart to the people I care of, I work with and teach to.

That doesn’t mean that every day is easy and wonderful, tough times are necessary and shape you into humbleness and strenght. What has changed is that even during those tough days I am aware of that  place within me I can go back to and trust. .

When you are awaken in your truer self there is no thing and no one with the power to take you away from what you came here to  be!

This exercise is called a Rack Pull. Inspired to do this exercise by my boy @dylantysonellis. Thanks homie!
I’ve recently began implementing rack pulls into my upper body sessions and doing standard deadlifts with my leg days. This way I can hit my lower back twice a week. -
This exercise is a great starting point for anyone who struggles doing normal deadlifts due to discomfort in that lower range or if your just super  tall (above 6ft). You can start with the bar just below your knees, and as you get stronger lower it down a notch till you get stronger in full range of motion. You can also load a decent amount of weight with minimal discomfort. Try this out 💪

Of all the healthy habits I’ve adopted, keeping a gratitude journal is the game-changer. Simply writing down 3 things that I’m grateful for every night before I go to bed has helped me worry less (I’m a recovering perfectionist) & love more. It’s a small step that has had a big effect on my health & happiness, allowing me to see having PCOS as getting a head start in living well. It’s a choice to always look for the good. When you do, the good can only get better ✨

Sometimes in life you need to win now so that you can build confidence to win later. As much as I knew weight loss was a gradual process, I had to give myself at most 2 months to lose a large amount of weight at a time. Why? Just so I could prove to myself that I could do it.

Now I’m so confident that even if I add weight maybe due to pregnancy, which is normal. I can still lose the weight afterwards. It’s an “I did it before so I can do it again” confidence. That’s all some of you need right now... that confidence.

So there’s no need to slow down your progress saying “It’s a gradual process”. Yes it’s a gradual process but it shouldn’t take you forever.

PALEO SLOW COOK MEXICAN CHIPOTLE PULLED PORK. 
I made this tonight, wow, so delicious and nutritious, great comforter food in our cold wet Gold Coast weather.

Method: place all the below ingredients straight into the slow cooker, I cooked on low for approx 16 hrs.

Ingredients.
🍂 1 x pork shoulder.
🍂1 x can diced tomatoes.
🍂 2 chipotle chillies in Adobo sauce.
🍂 1 red onion finely diced.
🍂3 large garlic cloves. 🍂 2 tsp coriander powder.
🍂 2 tsp cumin powder.
🍂 1 tsp oregano.
🍂 1 tbsp heaped Smokey paprika.
🍂 1-2 tbsp honey or coconut sugar.
🍂 2 tbsp red wine vinegar.
🍂 salt to taste.
🍂 1 chipotle chilli, optional.

Serve on stuffed whole bake sweet potato, with salsa or guacamole.

This will fill up the whole family, and use the leftovers for burgers, or wraps the next night!. Another great example from our lifestyle challenge guide!

Served it over romaine lettuce and topped with noni cream cheese, tomato, ketchup paste and a home made pickle. 🧀The noni cream cheese was made by processing two ripe noni with soaked pine nuts, black salt, garlic and onion powder and little truffle oil. 🍅The ketchup paste was made by processing cherry tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, dates and a touch of fresh oregano.

• I  Q U I T • When I first started working out I thought going to the gym was the only way to get fit. I spent years doing 'bodybuilder' style workouts, splitting up my training days into back and biceps, chest and triceps, and of course leg day. It felt super unfulfilling because my end goal was always targeted to changing the way I looked: better abs, a perkier butt, or perfectly rounded shoulders. It was detrimental to my mental health...

So I decided to quit.
.
I took a hiatus from the gym for a good 6 months and really questioned my motivation for working out and how I could create a better relationship with exercise. Instead I explored different ways to move my body. I took up flying trapeze and trampolining, went rock climbing a few weekends a month, kept up with Pilates, and enjoyed a walk in the park or along the beach instead.

To be honest it was probably the best decision I ever made. I began to listen to my body, instead of pushing through to stay on track with my bro split. My walks became more of a 'moving meditation', which was a stark contrast to the intense interval runs I'd previously done, and I slowly began to realise that when it came to working out, maybe less was more.
.
Over time I realised that I wanted my workouts with a side of human connection, so opted for group training classes, PT sessions, kicks in the park, or shooting hoops with a few friends over straight sets in the gym. I still do strength training, but aim for more functional movements and circuit style workouts that my body loves and I enjoy.
.
We hear so much about eating intuitively and listening to our hunger/fullness cues and I want the same trend to happen for exercise. Exercising intuitively should be the aim when we talk about fitness for life. It's about checking in with your energy levels, thinking about what you enjoy, and moving your body daily without burning out.

Let's start a trend where slow and steady win the race, we exercise smarter instead of harder, and instead of seeking validation for how we look, appreciate our body for all it can do. Are you in?

Je commence la semaine avec un chia pudding au cacao cru 🍫 c’est tellement facile et rapide pour des petit-déjeuner pressé 🤗 la nuit j’ai mis 1 c a s de chia, 100 ml de lait de noix de pecan , 1 c a s de sirop d’érable , le matin j’ai ajouté 1 c a c de cacao cru et pour le topping canneberges, amandes & noisettes torréfiées et la touche gourmande un peu de chocolat noir fondu et baby kiwi 🥝👌 franchement très bon, pourtant j’avais tellement d’appréhension pour le chia... quel dommage... ça dépend vraiment de comment on le prépare 🤗

Lundi matin ☀️Monday morning . Je commence la semaine avec un chia pudding au cacao cru 🍫 c’est tellement facile et rapide pour des petit-déjeuner pressé 🤗 la nuit j’ai mis 1 c a s de chia, 100 ml de lait de noix de pecan , 1 c a s de sirop d’érable , le matin j’ai ajouté 1 c a c de cacao cru et pour le topping canneberges, amandes & noisettes torréfiées et la touche gourmande un peu de chocolat noir fondu et baby kiwi 🥝👌 franchement très bon, pourtant j’avais tellement d’appréhension pour le chia... quel dommage... ça dépend vraiment de comment on le prépare 🤗 .
