But I'd say it's always better to eat, as much as possible, seasonal and local fruits and vegetables. And not because it's a trend and there're Instagram hashtags around it. But mostly because fruits reach their maximum nutrient content when ripe. And local foods have a shorter time between harvest and your table, so it is less likely that nutrient value has decreased. Those who come from other continents are never harvested ripe since they need to travel for hours or even days and would be obsolete by the time they reach our European supermarkets.

So cheers to European autumn: grapes, apples, pears, figs, quinces 🍎🍏🍐🍇💕

guys @yoricamoments sell ice-cream by the tub now and I used some to make this SALTED CARAMEL ICED LATTE and HOLY HECK it was iNcReDiBLe 🙏🏻 I just added two scoops of @yoricamoments vegan salted caramel ice cream to a glass and poured over 1 shot of coffee and 3/4 cup almond milk and I have never been happier about an evening beverage decision in my whole life ✌🏻 also fyi the ice cream is free from 14 major allergens and is also crazy good straight from the tub and I know because after I took this picture I had to enforce an official ice cream ban to stop myself eating the whole entire thing in one go (not that that would have been a bad thing at all in terms of health, but because I’d then have no more ice cream to eat tonight and that would be the real tragedy 💔) check out @ocadouk to get ur hands on a tub or two (or four) tysm ily bye x

Smokey Lentils + Harissa Baker Cauliflower Recipe 💥💫 by @rebelrecipes 💛
Ingredients
For the roast veg;
1/2 large aubergine sliced
1 medium cauliflower cut into steaks/florets
For the harrisa dressing; 
1.5 tbsp Harissa paste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
Juice 1 lemon
For the lentils;
1 onion chopped
1 tbsp oil
1 ancho chilli
3 tbsp water
4 cloves garlic sliced
2 cups/300g cherry tomatoes sliced
2 cups/350g split or whole red lentils rinsed well
2 tbsp tomato purée
3 cups water – 750ml
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
Lots of black pepper
Pinch white pepper
1 tbsp tamari
1 tbsp coconut yogurt or cream
For the cabbage salad;
1/2 white cabbage
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp organic apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp sea salt
4 tbsp sunflower seeds
Directions
Add the harrisa dressing ingredients to a large bowl and mix well.
Cut cauliflower into florets, and aubergine into slices then add to the bowl with the dressing, mix well.
Add to a large roasting pan. Roast on a medium heat 180c/Gas mark 4 for 20 minutes, then turn. Continue to roast for a further 20 minutes until the veg is cooked and golden brown. Remove from the oven.
To make the chilli paste;
Chop up ancho chilli roughly then add to a small pan with a little water.
Bring to a simmer and simmer for a few minutes. Set aside to cool.
Add the water and chilli to a mini chopper/blender or pestle and mortar and blitz or crush to a paste.
To make the Lentils;
Add your oil and onion to a wide bottom pan and fry gently on a low heat for around 10 minutes until soft and browning. Add the garlic and fry for 30 seconds more.
Add the tomatoes, Lentils, tomato purée, ancho paste and water to the pan and cook on a low heat for 30 minutes. Stirring occasionally – add more water if needed.
Add the salt, pepper, chilli flakes, tamari and coconut yogurt to the pan and simmer for a further 5 minutes
Top with the harissa cauliflower and aubergine.
To make the cabbage salad;
Finely cut the cabbage and place in a large bowl. Add the olive oil, vinegar and salt – mix well.
Add the sunflower seeds to a pan and dry toast on a medium heat until lightly toasted and nutty. Mix the seeds into the cabbage

BIG NEWS 🙌🏼 Ich weiß nicht ob ich es hier schon einmal thematisiert und angesprochen habe, aber auch ich hatte mehr als ein Jahr lang meine Periode gar nicht. Ich habe die Pille genommen, weil ich unwissend war. Habe sie nach einem Monat abgesetzt und hatte sie dann nicht. Was ich gemacht habe zu der Zeit ? Ich habe auch viel zu wenig fett gegessen bzw fast überhaupt kein Fett in Form von Nüssen, Nussmus oder Avocado. Nichts. Zu der Zeit bzw in der Zeit hat es mich auch nicht wirklich gestört meine Preise nicht zu haben. Jedoch hat sich mit der Zeit etwas geändert. Ich habe den Beschluss gefasst und den festen Willen endlich, so blöd es sich anhört, zur Frau zu werden. Und das bedeutet, seine Tage zu haben. Also entschied ich mich komplett mit dem Sport aufzuhören und mehr fette zu essen. Anfangs viel mir das alles nicht leicht. Es veränderte sich nicht drastisch viel. Also musste ich was ändern. Ich fing wieder an Nussmus zu konsumieren, wovor ich lange Zeit „Angst“ hatte. Ich hab durchbrach meine Grenzen, die ich mir aufgebaut hatte. Ich verbiete mir nichts mehr, habe kein schlechtes Gewissen wenn ich mal mehr gegessen habe oder zu viel. Nein, im Gegenteil. Ich weiß, was ich meinem Körper und meiner Psyche vor allem lange Zeit angetan habe und das will ich nicht mehr.
Nun Vor einigen Tagen hatte ich zum erzähl mal nach langer langer Zeit meine Tage wieder. Und wisst ihr was, all das ohne irgendwelchen Supplemente, Pillen etc. 🙏🏼 Es ist möglich und es lohnt sich dran zu bleiben. Vertraut euch und eurem Körper und gebt euren Körper das was er braucht und wonach er verlangt. Er ist es wert genährt zu werden.

Instant Pot “Cheesy” Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:
•2-3 lbs potatoes
•1 cup water
•1 homemade vegetable bouillon cube
•1 cup milk
•1/2 cup nutritional yeast (optional)
Directions:
1. Peel and cube potatoes and place in Instant Pot with 1 cup water and bouillon cube (or 1 cup vegetable both).
2. Manual high pressure 6 minutes. Let natural release 5 minutes then quick release rest. 
3. Mash up potatoes, add milk to your desired creaminess. Then add nutritional yeast and mix well for a cheesy flavor.

My son's lunch for tomorrow... Evan makes his own lunch and breakfast before bedtime.  He enjoys creating his food and placing the fruit in the jar in a particular order... This one has pink guava, huge sweet black grapes, kiwi berries, and raspberries.

This was what I took to work with me today for lunch, dinner and snacks (clockwise from top left): fennel quinoa salad with airfried tofu; banana; Planet foods protein bar; @vegerama aloo palak curry with brown rice and broccoli; strawberries with Impressed almond yogurt, chocolate @loving_earth buckinis, chia and chopped almonds. 
In addition to this was pumpkin bread for breakfast (previous post) and a bowl of Cocoa Puffs, two soy lattes and very likely some ice cream and/or chocolate later tonight 😂

People think eating vegan is expensive. Which amazes me as I spend fuck all when I stick to the basics. I just spent $10 Australian (roughly £5) at a fruit and veg shop me and got 4kg potatoes $4, 1kg tomatoes $1, 1 tin of chickpeas 0.80c, 2 kg carrots $2 and 2 avocados for $2. If I was really trying to save I’d skip the avocados but as they are generally more expensive in New Zealand I’m making the most of them while I’m still in Australia! The trick really is to shop around and shop seasonal. For example I very rarely buy produce at the supermarket as it’s so much more expensive than the fruit and veg shops and also there’s no way you’d find me buying avocados and tomatoes in winter because dang they are expensive out of season! .

When I made the beetroot mash from yesterday's post, I boiled some more beets to have in my oatmeal the day after, and this is how it turned out - I'm just so captivated by the colour 😍 also had some homemade applesauce (literally just apples from the garden), frozen blueberries and fresh banana on top 🤤

This was super easy and delicious. I made some potatoes in my new @instantpotofficial then made mashed potatoes with some salt and soy milk. Then I sautéed some spinach and kale with garlic and white beans. Then topped it with salsa and nutritional yeast. SO GOOD

Ich bin zurück in Deutschland 🇩🇪. Verweint, aber glücklich! Die Zeit bei Babcia und Dziadek (= Oma und Opa) war wie immer wundervoll, voller Liebe, erdend und natürlich viel Essen🥟🥟 und ein paar kurze😜 Aus diesem Grund tut der Abschied immer besonders weh💔😭. Ich bin zwar wieder zu Hause, aber gleichzeitig habe ich mein zu Hause zusammen mit den wundervollsten Großeltern hinter mir gelassen - zumindest für eine kurze Zeit. For the jam, all you need to do is simmer a handful of raspberries on Low heat and add a little bit of water and a tablespoon of date sugar (coconut sugar will work too) 🌈

Wait at least 15-30 minutes after drinking this before you eat anything else. Drinking plain celery juice has been the HUGEST tool I have used to finally get my digestion back on track. Before starting the celery juice protocol I suffered with extremely poor digestion. I was dealing with a really painful stomach ulcer, heartburn, constipation, extreme bloating+gas & I could physically see I was not digesting my food—it would come out almost exactly how it went in. Celery juice rebuilds your bodies hydrochloric acid which is absolutely crucial for the breakdown and assimilation of your food as well as helping your body fight off any invaders that may be coming in with the food you eat. My digestion is 80% better today after over 100 days of daily celery juice...I want to say 95% better but to be transparent I have been having a little flare up of digestive symptoms since I finished up taking oregano oil (this stuff is potent!) but that’s a story for another day and things are already returning to normalcy after a few days on strong probiotics to replenish my gut flora. I will say though in the beginning it did not take long for me to notice a difference in my digestion, things started improving within just ONE WEEK of starting the daily celery juice habit. Digestion issues are not something we all necessarily want to talk about with our girl/guy friends but I know a lot of people are struggling in private... White Bean Rosemary Soup-

1 medium onion small diced 
2 medium carrots small diced 
2 ribs celery small diced 
4 cloves garlic, minced on a microplane grater
1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
4 cups veggie broth 
2 (15-ounce) cans white beans , with their liquid
4 6-inch rosemary leaves 
2 bay leaves
4 cups roughly chopped kale

Sauté veggies 3-4 minutes , add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes . Remove rosemary leaves and bay leaves and discard. Remove 1 cup of the soup,pulse in food processor until slightly chunky and add back to soup. Stir and enjoy! .

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I have just finished doing my homework but before I did that I had this nice bowl of veggies. Does anybody else feel like when they're at something before doing anything, they feel much better. Cause I do, Everytime when I finished eating I always feel much better. Anyway for today I had a sweet potato, seasoned chickpeas, broccoli, green Beans, peas, zucchini and spinach with hummus and nooch on the side. So again I'm going to ask, how was your day?? I hope it was or will be nice depending on when and where you are living in.
