I do eat meat and some gluten but unlike my old lifestyle it has been minimized substantially due to health reasons so I'm always expiramenting with new vegetarian or even vegan options. I do have a long-term goal to one day be fully vegetarian because we now have so many options albeit expensive so I understand why it's a little difficult but that's why I'm learning to make things from scratch. Recently I had someone give me a very ugly comment in private about my stomach...calling it "massive." When someone tries to knock you down remember how hard you try and remember that it is merely a reflection upon a journey they have yet to work on for themselves. Don't get angry at them or internalize what is being said as truth...just say a little prayer for them to begin their process of no self judgement because people who judge others are the ones who also judge themselves. We can always keep on fighting the good fight and learn to love ourselves harder with every lesson and with every experience.

Hitting those arms! I remember a time when I couldnโ€™t even lift 8lbs or do a single push-up...building strength takes time and faith in the process. What exactly do we mean when we say "I tried?" If you give up before you've completed what you're doing then you didn't really try to give it a fair chance, and you'll never really know if you could have been successful, because at the slightest bit of doubt there's a give up phase. We have ALL been a little guilty of this one. This applies to any challenge in life and we have many.

We always want the quick fix, but a quick fix will teach us nothing about faith in ourselves and determination. Only when we have completed the task, THEN we can say we tried. If it doesn't work then cool... At least NOW we can officially say we've tried and gave it our all. This ain't the try a bite club...or shopping for clothes...It's when life throws you challenges. You won't get immediate results for what you put into your life projects but you will learn a valuable lesson on holding yourself accountable and pushing through to the end and there's nothing better than feeling proud of yourself. I really had to fight off those cravings today. I probably should have measured the hummus but by now I kinda can eyeball how much based on how many carrots I eat. That happens with this system of portioning. You get so used to doing it... It's almost like you can eyeball what a teaspoon or a tablespoon looks like. The most important thing we can do is simply be cognicent of what you eat. Portion  control definitely helps but don't forget... in our nutritional boot camp we teach you how to use them but also how to make the wisest decisions you can without the need for over processed chemicals, fillers, breads and sugars. And guess what! You won't be missing out on a thing. The food is so healthy the only thing you could possibly miss out on is a painful stomach ache. That's a good deal worth fighting for.

Zucchini Burrito Boats are a simple meatless and gluten-free meal packed full of Mexican flavor!

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more to grease baking dish

4 large zucchinis (or 6 medium)

1 red bell pepper, diced

1/2 yellow onion, diced

1 jalapeno, seeds removed and finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 15 ounces can low sodium black beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup brown rice, cooked

1/2 cup corn kernels

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

2 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped

1/4 cup shredded jack cheese (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Grease a 9 x 13 casserole dish with olive oil and then set aside.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Slice each zucchini in half lengthwise. Using a spoon, hollow out the center of each zucchini. Place the zucchini, skin side down, in the casserole dish.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion, peppers, jalapeรฑo, and garlic, and cook for 3-5 minutes, until onion begins sweating.

Add the rice, corn, beans, cilantro, chili powder, oregano, and cumin and stir together. Cook for about 5 minutes to heat through, then remove the skillet from the heat.

Spoon the filling inside of each zucchini until they are all full.

Sprinkle with cheese.

Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until zucchini is tender.

Breakfast yum yums! Can you believe oatmeal can look this good? It tastes even better than it looks. Heaven in a bowl. I made this using oatmeal, blackberries, blueberries, soy butter, Greek yogurt, honey, cinnamon, flax seeds, chia seeds, and 1/2 of a banana. Eat up! Only took a couple of minutes to make and it satisfied my sweet tooth. Bye bye cravings! Easy, cheap, and healthy. Can't beat that!

Les Mills Cycle and Lower Fix today. My legs are going to feel awesome! I did bodypump yesterday and my muscles feel great! All the working out is really helping so much. I'm trying not to care about the scale though in the midst of making gains because it's hard to gage where I am at...so I stick to the plan...that's the most important part...and don't check that scale until monday, and I must stay away from alcohol...as fun as it may be to have some on the weekends...it used to just be once a month so I have to remember to stay on track even if I am around friends and happy hour might be tempting lol sometimes you gotta be your own best friend and say no...drink water...listen to your body...you got this...stay healthy...think of the goal!

There is more shelf space used in grocery stores for storing soda and sugary juice than there is for bottled water or healthy drinks. We have to change the system by changing ourselves first. I used to be so addicted to sugar I would delevope these stomach pains that were literally so bad I would be kicking the wall screaming in pain, crying, begging for it to end. My hair started falling out and was so thin and dry I couldn't do anything with it, my nails had dark patches under them from nutrient deficiency, and my sleep was horrible. The more I consumed the more I wanted to consume. Sugar sends a reward signal to the brain when it hits our tongue telling us mmm that's good...have more. We cannot allow it to control us. Biology may set off those reward signals...but sugar is not a reward in reality...it's a hinderence. We have to be willing to give up what weights us down the most. I used to never drink water...only pepsi. Now...all I drink is water or a morning coffee. You CAN overcome your addiction to sugar. You CAN own up to the bullshit story you tell yourself and others that you have it under control when you really need help and support. Don't let those bullshit thoughts dictate how your goals. I used to tell people "I don't know why I gain weight...I eat like a bird." I was lying to myself and others. Or I would blame ALL my weight on medications when yes medications make you gain weight but not as much as I personally was responsible for. It's as if I had a free excuse pass just because my medications made gain 10lbs. There is no free pass...there is only the fight for freedom. I do not struggle with sugar addiction any longer. I don't have stomach pain, my hair grows more now especially thanks to the nutrients in my daily Shakeology, my nails are beautiful and strong, I don't feel irritated all the time, my heart palpatations are gone, and my sleep improved substantially. Life DOES get better when you treat yourself better and stop allowing the food to control you...you take control. You know you can. Don't convince yourself you are too weak or this is as good as it gets...no...it gets better I can promise you that with love and positive support.

Fighting chronic pain was my #1 motivation for losing weight and following a nutricional plan. I can honestly say now I am off 15 different medications because of my focus group. I used to have upwards of 35 symptoms. Fibromyalgia is no joke, it's one of the most painful illnesses one can suffer from. And I suffered for a long time. Once upon a time I walk with a cane at 280 lb, I had a sugar addiction, I had mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, irritability, the inability to think clearly. I was a very negative person with no ambition, no hope and very suicidal ready to end my life any moment. I couldn't handle the stress. I didn't know how to call my brain but I didn't know that I was also putting things into my body that were triggering pain not allowing me to Clarity to think through and breathe and really learn what it was that I needed to do to not only get better physically but mentally. I want to help other people who were like me. Who are like me, I still struggle everyday it is not perfect. I still have Flair updates the only difference is now I might have one flare up a month. I can wash my hair now without it hurting. I'm not as sensitive to temperature. I can go to the bathroom without it hurting. My muscle pain is nearly gone. I don't have nerve damage. I healed from kidney failure. I had 19% kidney function. I was almost headed out the door. My blood pressure was so high it would shock the doctors every time they would check. I was in and out of the hospital or the doctor's office anywhere from 4 to 5 times a month. I would have to be sent to the emergency room for pain so bad morphine didn't even take the edge off. A battle I no longer fight constantly.

Shakeology has been paramount in getting the proper nutricion my body needs. As someone with fibro it's such a big deal to have our body balanced and healthy so as to avoid things that trigger our pain and leave us feeling helpless to pain and no energy.

I can never remember to take vitamins from a bottle and with my condition it would cost me an arm and a leg. I not only get MORE nutrition than I even knew existed before but I get to save money and trust me chronic pain is expensive to live with.

Now I am off 15 different medications, working out daily and eating the right thing. It's simpler than I thought...definately better than waking up every day feeling like I got hit by a truck and get sick eating anything.

I can't even begin to describe the echaustion I felt. It's not perfect, I still have my bad flare days like anyone else with fibro...but now I have less of them. Maybe twice a month I'm down for a day or two. At one point that was every day for me. Every day I struggled just to wake up, to take a shower, to feel temperature changes for fuck's sake... fibromyalgia is one of the most painful illnesses anyone can have and we CAN overcome it. Yes you!

Waking up to a simple healthy breakfast and your morning water intake will help you feel more energy and prepare your body for a workout. Do you ever miss eating your favorite thing at a restaurant, but canโ€™t eat it anymore because the portions are all off and you come to find it may look healthier than it truly is?

Thatโ€™s how I always felt about the Red Robin chicken caesar wrap. It was delicious but filled with mostly meat and fattening dressing and not the best lettuce. Nothing dense and nutrient rich.

So I created my own portion controlled healthy INSPIRED version. The veggie tortilla is a healthy carb, no added flavors, no GMOโ€™s so if you make this look for the ones with all-natural ingredients. Iโ€™ll post the recipe below. It is a much smaller portion than what you get at a restaurant but we are all learning how to appreciate proper portions so I donโ€™t mind not stuffing myself until I get sick lol itโ€™s a great feeling just feeling satisfied. And I made this while I was sick and low on energy. I still have some prepping to do but this doesnโ€™t take much prepping and I was able to track everything. Yay!!! Easy easy! Ingredients:
1/2 cup Grilled chicken
Veggie tortilla
Pinch of Pepper
Pinch of rosemary 
1 tbs Lemon juice
1tbs Coconut oil 
1 quarter avocado
Tomatoes
1/2 tsp Parmesan 
1 tsp fat free ranch dressing (20 cal kind)
1/2 cup chard
1/2 cup spinach and romaine

Grill chicken with coconut oil, lemon juice, pepper, and rosemary until well done.

Add to tortilla, add additional ingredients and roll into a burrito. Cut into two sections. Enjoy!

I'm definately not perfect, I mess up and sometimes eat the wrong things. But I try to do my best until my best is even better. Discipline is a journey alongside things like building strength and knowledge. The one thing that has been the most difficult on me is trying not to beat myself up for falling down or needing to rest. If I gain 4 pounds (I did lol) I beat myself up. Then I have to pull myself back and go okay I had that feeling, what can I do to be as nice to me as I would to someone else. Get back on it! Just keep the journey going and dust off the dirt. ๐Ÿ’ช

It's been dreadful waiting to get started. I'm taking care of a sick kid who spends his days in the living room so I haven't had much time or space to DO. However it's forced me into a position of LEARNING. I'm taking this time to learn about the 21 day fix, all the programs, nutricion program and how to use the colored container system, plan meals for prep, and mentally prepare because this is every day for life.
