I quit Beachbody for a few years after we got married. I thought it was too expensive and that I didn’t need helping loosing weight. I just had lost 50 pounds- I got this 👍🏼🤦🏻♀️well I gained the 50 pounds back PLUS some extra. .I Was. Miserable.
I wanted to start a family. I wanted to be the girl in my wedding photos. I tried clean eating, I was working out constantly because I taught at the Y. But no matter what- the weight just kept packing on.
When I messaged my coach and decided to go back to Beachbody it was because I knew it worked. It was a good fit for me and I realized I was spending so much money on new clothes, food that wasn’t healthy for me and that this was an investment in ME! In my future kids and in my husband. So that I could live a healthy life-
I decided when I went back to Beachbody I wasn’t just going as a customer or a challenger but a coach. Why? No I don’t have oodles of time and honestly I have a very scheduled life. But because I didn’t want anyone else to feel the way I felt. I hated seeing myself in the mirror, I would cringe when my husband would complement me... no one should feel that way. So I am grateful for my journey and for this opportunity 🙏🏼and I pray daily that I can be a blessing to someone like my coach has always been to me. #thesimplyblessedmama#beachbodyfitness#beachbodycoach#momlife#cleaneating#thyroiddisease#gravesdisease#gravesdiseasefighter#hashimotos#hashimotosdisease#hashimotoswarrior
SO much fun yesterday. A weekend off, spent with friends was exactly what I needed.💗
Also very thankful I still have tomorrow off 🙌🏼 Starting off the week researching for my next blog post & hitting the gym for a yoga class!🦋
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend💗
HarderThanItLooks.com/ouch - another goody from my sesh with @vanfitnessinmotion - few little single leg exercises to keep a little bit of balance going on in the ol’ bod. Sozzles for being lame as of late. I’m currently lads on touring around Europe for a wedding and CBA uploading. I am working out though, of course, fear not. Just some good old F45 classes to ensure I still fit in my wedding attire next week 😂. Hope you’re not melting, wherever you are. Xoxo Gossip Cor.
Oh so true...such a common misconception. .
Repost from @healthandlongevity101 : “Just because something is gluten free or vegan doesn't necessarily make it a healthier option. Always look at the ingredient list and make sure other nasties haven't been added. As a general rule, If you don't recognize or can't pronounce a certain ingredient, then it's probably best avoided.” .
Today’s #piitstagram challenge is to share something that’s unique about you.... so here it goes. I’ve shared photos of Jagger before, but what most people don’t know is that he’s a trained service dog. This little adopted butt nugget rescued me just as much as I rescued him. When I was 19 I was diagnosed with #hashimotosdisease .... and soooooo many things began to make sense after that diagnosis! Fast forward through anxiety, depression and nightmares each night since I was about 6 years old and I finally had a known reason for it. My Dr. tried three different anxiety and depression medications for me for a few years, but it wasn’t until this guy came along that I was able to cope with every day life on my own. Yes he’s a pain in my butt 9 times out of 10 every day, loves to try to sneak food out of the trash can when he’s not in work mode, but I’m happy to say that once he helped me get my anxiety under control my Hashi numbers dropped drastically and as of last month I’m almost in the “normal” range. I’d call that a massive win. #piitday6
The birth control and thyroid connection is real!
I have always wonder why Hypo/Hyper/Hashi’s affects women so much more than men.
So of course I started digging and here’s a pretty good reason! BIRTH CONTROL!! _____________________________________
Birth control pills deplete vital nutrientsyour thyroid requires and can interfere with thyroid hormone on multiple levels.
On top of interfering every which way it can with your thyroid hormone, the pill also elevates Thyroid Binding Globulin (TBG) and as you can probably guess, it binds thyroid hormone which causes your body to bind up any thyroid hormone you actually manage to make.
The Pill is also inflammatory.
You know what else is inflammatory? Autoimmune disease. And it is the number one cause of thyroid disease in the United States
They also impair our ability to build muscle despite exercise.
They can also decrease sexual desire by suppressing testosterone
They flood our bodies with high doses of artificial estrogen and progesterone leading our production of natural hormones to turn off, preventing ovulation and thinning the uterine lining. This can lead to a hormonal imbalance such as estrogen dominance.
Women who are taking an aggressive form of birth control which suppresses her menstrual cycle will have just about no chance of completely restoring her thyroid health back to normal.
So women, please do heavy research BEFORE taking birth control so you can make an educated decision!
My husband and I have used the app called “Flo” for years and it has been a great way of preventing pregnancy for us. ____________________________________________#hypothyroidism#autoimmunedisease#birthcontrol#hashimotosdisease#thyroidproblems#thyroid#hypothyroid#hyperthyroidism#hormones#whatdoctorswonttellyou#thyroiddisease
Prep is key. If I don’t bake a batch of turkey burgers, spiralize some zucchini, thaw the bacon and prep the veggies and fruits, I’m setting myself up for failure. After the no-good “cheat” I had yesterday, this week I’m going in armed even better. 💪🏼 Let’s do this, #AIP and #summertoneup week 2️⃣.
There are lots of reasons many of us post selfies. What ever your reason I don’t mind, care or judge. However, many do! My reasons are perhaps the occasional lack of confidence, but the majority of the time it’s pride. I have a condition which means I find it so so hard to keep slim, to keep as fit as I’d like too. I don’t develop muscle easily which support and help my joints and my body aches, it swells, it doesn’t recover well. I put weight on easily and find it almost impossible to lose it. I lose my hair and wow can it get you down. I joined forums for help when I was diagnosed and it made things worse. It was so negative, so I left them all and made this journey mine. This is how it effects me. SO , try be positive re write the rule books, be the one that they say “oh, that’s not normal” “oh you shouldn’t be like that” decide how you want it to be and do what it takes. Dedication and find your way. Why not post the odd selfie on route, it keeps it real and you never know it might just be what someone needs. I’ve had it bad just lately, I swelled, I put on weight my hair is breaking and has been coming out in clumps. Bloods were “normal” so meds stayed the same so I had to find another solution. I’ve worked hard hard hard on my mood, on my mind, being strategic with my training... working with what I have and today I saw glimpses of it paying off. This is my journey, I’m no different to anyone else, choose how you want to it be. I really, really hope this picture doesn’t offend anyone. 💚🌱🙏
I have never been a quitter. Even the word “quit” makes me cringe. 😣 That was just something with which I never wanted to be associated
But the universe had other plans. My health was in jeopardy & my happiness was plummeting. Who was I becoming? And then I did it... I QUIT...an epic Corporate job with benefits bartending on the beach with some of my best friends. And there I was... just QUITTING.
I started my healing journey, putting myself first, and learning every day how to promote cellular rejuvenation to reverse my autoimmune conditions.
After months of self-reflection, I realized... Maybe I never quit, I just RE-PRIORITIZED. I put my health first. If it cost me every last penny it didn’t matter, because my health was more valuable than anything else I could buy with my money. If it didn’t help me reach my goals or bring me joy... it just had to go.
18 months later and here I am!!! I no longer feel like I quit but instead gained.
✨I gained health, joy, and time freedom.
✨I gained the ability to help 100s of people navigate their journey of fitness and wellness. Watching my clients transform like I did has filled my heart. It’s such a blessing every day to see transformations.
✨ I gained a tribe of amazing professionals from all walks of life (I may not know all the answers, but now I always know someone who does)
✨And I’m working on gaining a hempire! Diving into the CBD market and seeing it work magic for my clients. Never did I think I would be a part of a national movement to offer “plant-care”. Thank you universe. 🙏🏻 #wanttohelpme#lookingforbusinesspartners#helpmehelpothers
Who is this new me??? I stepped into my calling and every day love connecting with people to upgrade their health. Every late night text, early morning consult, and weekend training sessions, Nothing could bring me more joy. If your stuck in upgrading your health, know I’m here. I’ve been through it and I got you. 🤗 🙋🏼♀️I encourage you to upgrade your health, today and now. Because who wants to wait to live their best life. I know I waited way too long. 💚💚💚💚
Getting worse. Some days I just can’t speak at all and have nothing to say. If you need help, don’t wait as long as I did to go to the hospital! And by “hospital” for me, I mean camh emergency. I wasted sooooo many hours of my life being debilitated. Camh emergency has been a life saver for me. It gives me a chance to talk to a doctor, be monitored for a couple of days by a nurse and I always receive new information on services provided in the city that are covered under ohip. I get home and it’s like I’ve pressed a “reset” button.
Whatever works best for you, we all gotta “reset” once and awhile, regroup, remind ourselves of what is most important, take some deep breaths, work through the current situation, learn what to do next, take action and move forward. ✌️✌️💕
Do you want to feel as good as this meadow looks? When it comes to taking good care of ourselves it is easy to do it during the weekends. It is then that we have time to prepare healthy meals, exercise or sleep and relax. However before you know it the weekend is over and Monday is here 😤
To help you design and plan a good week ahead that will promote wellbeing follow the tips below, you don't have to implement all 5 at once, small steps are better than no steps. I promise that you will notice a significant difference in how you feel. 😇
1. Enjoy nutritious meals - remember that food is information for your body and what you ingest will determine your health, energy levels and your mood.
2. Walking and exercising - physical movement is essential for your wellbeing, it's good for our body, mind and soul. You will feel so much more alert in all those work meetings if you take yourself out for a walk. Exercising after meals will also take care of your blood sugar levels.
3. Review your to do list - plan and execute on your priorities it will save you a lot of tension and stress.
4. Remember to breath - always remember to breath, when you feel lost breath, when you feel stressed breath, when you feel happy breath and do it not just to avoid depraving yourself of oxygen but to energise and compose yourself.
5. Take care of things that take care of you - remember that nothing will work unless you do 😉

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
I was #feelingblue on Friday after missing out on a #beachday because I was just too fatigued to go. But yesterday I woke up feeling great! Spent the morning weeding in the yard. Then M + I rearranged our bedroom (because the #designer in me requires constantly updating my spaces! 😂).
Now I'm tired today but the rain is giving me the perfect excuse to curl up and indulge in one of my #guiltypleasures - the #HannahSwensen mysteries on Hallmark channel. I love the #bookseries and I've been a fan of Alison Sweeney since her Days of Our Lives years.
This is exactly what Sundays were made for! Hope my #spooniesisters are enjoying the day too! Stay strong you lovely warriors! 💜
Getting the right combination of thyroid hormone and medications can take time and trial and error. It took me 3 years to figure out the right combination for me. I took NatureThroid for 1 year and ended up switching to levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3) combination therapy because I had hair loss, heart palpitations, insomnia, irritability, and my TPO antibodies went up to 3,500. ⠀
My naturopathic functional medicine doctor explained to me that the ratio of T4:T3 is higher in natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) than humans because it comes from cows/pigs (4:1 versus ~14:1) so it can cause some people to have hyperthyroid symptoms. ⠀
The reason my TPO antibodies shot up was because my body recognized the NDT as thyroid which revved up my autoimmunity. Apparently this is common with Hashimoto’s. However, everyone is different and some people do well on NDT including NatureThroid.⠀
Additionally, I’ve been on low dose naltrexone (LDN) since last September and it was a game changer for me. It finally fixed my chronic fatigue. It also helped with my insomnia, inflammation, and digestion. LDN has also been shown to help with autism, cancer, Lyme disease, and chronic pain.⠀
You get LDN by prescription and it’s made by a compounding pharmacy in liquid or capsule form. It’s important to start at a very low and slowly titrate up. I started at 0.5mg per day for week 1, then titrated up by 0.5mg/day per week for 8 weeks until I reached 4mg/day which is where I am at now. ⠀
Like I said earlier, I have less inflammation, better digestion and sleep, and my fatigue is nearly gone. With this combination of T4+T3+LDN I finally feel like myself again! What combination of meds have worked for you?⠀
A relaxing lunch with your gal pal is just necessary sometimes 🙌🏼 Eating out doesn’t have to be your worst enemy. Instead of obsessing over what you “can’t/shouldn’t order” or feeling guilty about your choices, try this.
We ordered a few small plates to share then nibbled, chatted and took our time. We are slowly and intentionally.
We savored and enjoyed.
We paused to check our hunger and decided to order a little more.
We ate gelato without guilt.
And then we moved on with our day.
It was lovely. ❤️
🤗Querida/o hospedeira/o escolha me amar, me auxiliar, me bendizer, me dar a alimentação adequada, o descanso adequado e prometo que em troca eu TE DAREI NOVAMENTE a sua alegria de viver, energia transbordante, equilíbrio emocional e paz!🌷✨😉
Silly gym selfie haha but I don’t care. 7 weeks into my food elimination journey with complete compliance, which I can barely believe myself. So far I’ve lost 20lbs and 17 INCHES but more importantly, almost all of my symptoms are gone and I feel like a normal 28 yr old who isn’t living with a chronic illness. My thyroid numbers are finally regulated, liver numbers are back within normal range, and my blood platelet count is down. Even better, I finally have enough energy to kill my training and still function for the rest of the day.
Completely changing the way you eat is hard and can be completely overwhelming...I GET IT. The best thing I ever did was accept the AIP diet wasn’t something I could do right away so I took a food intolerance test to pinpoint the exact foods that were causing inflammation. Maybe that’s where you need to start and that’s ok. It’s your journey and no one else’s. As long as you’re taking steps to improve your health, that’s all that matters.
This is a conversation that needs to happen because it proves something important about nutrition: There is NOT one diet for every one🙅♀️
If you’re eating healthy, but you still feel like crap, then you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
If healthy eating (following one set of generic guidelines) were enough to promote health in everyone, it would be so simple.
Thankfully, we are unique and complex creatures! Think about how dull and 2D our world would be if we were less complex! Each of us are completely different in our genetic makeup, our gut microbiome, our mental/emotional/spiritual outlooks and experiences, our environments, our exposures to toxins, our early childhood experiences, the habits we had in college, our health goals and priorities, etc, etc.
All of this = interacting uniquely with foods
