Do you ever feel off balance?
Sometimes things in your life might not add up.. or maybe they just aren’t equal? I’ve been out of school for one week and while the break has been nice, I’m starting to feel a little off. Not having the structure of class (and taking the week off from work) is great but I need to have SOMETHING. I need to have something that makes me feel full & accomplished. Thankfully I go back to work (lol never thought I would say that) and THANK GOODNESS I am starting to study for my personal training certification to keep me busy. .
Maybe something else is causing you instability in your life. For me, the instability comes from a lack of being “busy” but for many of us it often comes from focusing on one aspect of life more than another.
The best way to re-balance from instability is being more aware of how you spend your time. I like doing this by journaling every morning to evaluate how I could be spending my time better & more even.
Let’s talk metabolism💃🏻
When I first started learning about calories/macros/food in general, I somewhat ignored the whole “metabolism” component (not good!!). Your metabolism is what converts food/fuel into useable energy.. so it’s kinda, REALLY important (to say the least). Everyone’s metabolic rate varies according to factors like age/weight/height/gender and a billion other things. Another thing to keep in mind- your metabolism IS NOT static. This means it changes over time according to your habits, exercise, food intake, and genetics. .
What does this all mean for you? It means that you could be doing the same amount of movement & eating the exact same thing as someone else and be getting completely different results. Our bodies USE and CONVERT energy different and it’s important to keep this in mind, but also learn to be cognitive about how your body reacts to what/when you’re eating. #wellnesswednesday 🧘🏻♀️🌱
All or nothing? .
Having a mindset that you should be “all work all the time” is 200% crazy. But it’s also crazy to take an approach to life that is “all chill” or “all play”
I know these are extremes, but a lot of people (including 17-18 year old me) live with the mindset of all or nothing.. with work, exercise, food, relationships, etc. this mindset is the thing that breaks us down. It’s in no way sustainable & while you might think it’s more productive to go all in on one thing than doing a little bit of everything.. it’s actually causing you quite a bit of harm. Instead of living a balanced & fulfilled life, it makes one component of your life extremely polarized
Soooo what should you do? I’m not saying to half-ass your work, but a little bit of something good for you is better than nothing.. AND at the same time don’t forget to stop taking life so seriously🙆🏻♀️
