Something else we’ve been working on recently.. quick brief run down-
Gates and concrete pad installed at this yard!
The gate posts were very large and getting them level was essential, so we chose to install a level concrete pad at the base of the excavation to help manoeuvre the posts into a level position. After this we back filled around them with concrete, using a laser to keep them level in all angles, and at the same height with each other. With the gates being electric, ducting was installed to allow access for electrics. We then hung the gates level, and moved onto the concrete pad, which was levelled, shuttered up, reinforced mesh placed in and then concrete poured.
Still a lot to do to finish off the front of our house, and a big change is coming next week. These are our current retaining walls and they are starting to crack every where because they haven’t been built right. Someone just seemed to get a heap of rocks and put a lot of concrete between them to hold them up. Nothing sits behind it, no supports or drainage but clay and soil. Now slowly time, Mother Nature and gravity are having an impact. This will all be getting fixed with a new style of wall and a grass based parking bay. Counting down the days now @naturalhabitatlandscapes it’s exciting ( and just a little nail biting as well ).
Then I better get onto the gutters and all those other little jobs that need to be done 😬
Tarmac driveways, paths and even patios have become very common nowadays especially because of the wide range of benefits that they are able to offer.
Excellent durability - When laid properly, tarmacadam is a durable, reliable and smooth surface which is relatively easy to repair.
Quick and easy to install - If you have an area that is past its best and looks a bit tired, then tarmac is one of the most popular materials around. They are not only simple and relatively cheap, but they are also very easy to install.
Low maintenance - If over time your tarmac driveway becomes worn out or dented, then it is going to be very easy for you to repair and maintain the surface.
Cost effective - Tarmac is cost-effective, even more so than concrete, which is cost-effective. It also takes less time to install tarmac than other materials. This saves everyone money, from government offices to contractors to homeowners.
