Natural starter dough vietnamese bánh mì experiment, not satisfied yet cuz i'm suck at shaping and i dont have a baguette baking tray but its good to share my experiment 😛 actually this is not original bánh mì cuz in Vietnam, bánh mì aka baguettes tend to be hollow on the inside and very very thin on the outside, nowadays they often use vitamin C and some improvers from China which i dont like 🤔 i grew up near a vietnamese baguette bake house, lò bánh mì Trúc Bạch, i still remember the beer smell all over that area everytime i passed by, i guess they used to add beer into the dough to let it be fermented but now for profit reasons, they dont use beer anymore, thats why i have so many trust issues when it comes to Vietnamese street foods man haha 😂😬. anyway, back to my experiment, i use an overnight starter dough: honey, bread flour, yeast and water. the result is pretty good, pretty light, not only fluffy inside but it also has thin & crispy crust, except the shaping part and only if i let the starter dough be fermented for a longer time, the result could be better. 'til next timeeeeee !!!! #yummy#koln#cologne#healthy#fitness#likes4like#lifestyle#foodies#colognefood#cologneguide#colognefoodguide#kölnfood#foodincologne#colognecity#colognegermany#colognecollection#homemade#porkfloss#bread#pastry#banhmi#baguette#starterdough#natural#vietnam#saigon#hanoi#experiment
Vietnam tour last chapter : Hanoi
Spent 2 nights in Hanoi to discover the city center of communist country.
Went to hoan kiem lake(the so called 还剑湖, story said that there was a turtle returning the sword to some king?) ho chi Minh Mausoleum complex (it is a very interesting place as you can't bring your camera, tablet, pc inside, strict rules, there is where you feel the communism. And one pillar pagoda, ban dinh square, everything just nearby the area)
St Joseph church, built in 1886, a very French style building,
Beer corner or street 36, review from the internet, if you wish you visit a true hanoi, you can come here for the experience, the busiest business street in Hanoi, a lot of stalls, and there is a lot of bars and pubs along the street. It is a good experience to get drunk beside the street? Where you hardly experience it in any country though.
And temple of literature, hoa lo museum etc...
Anyway, beautiful country
My phone was stolen during transit in Hong Kong which meant I was also locked out of all my emails and social media accounts as they wouldn't allow me to log in from a new device and new location at the same time for security reasons! Many hours spent pleading with Microsoft Outlook as I needed to access my emails to see our internal flight details, hotel bookings etc and they finally allowed me in. So I could then verify myself on other accounts.
So far we've been to Hanoi, trekking in Saps, and now we're in Ho Chi Minh for the next few days. It's absolutely boiling hot and I feel like I've literally showered in my clothes I'm that wet with sweat all the time. But we're having a fab time!
Expect plenty of pics and updates now that I'm back on here
