As promised, last night I re-watched A Star is Born.
At first I described it as having confusing characters, being too modern, and dragging on a little too long.
On the second viewing, I think it was frame for frame perfection.
This is not to dismiss my original review, those are still valid first impressions.
But something about it was different.
I didn’t have the same expectations I did the first time.
Instead, I was able to relax because I’ve already made up my mind, right?
This film flowed beautifully. The characters, the music, everything.
The weight of the film crushed me this time, as I already knew what was coming. I don’t even mind telling you I cried, more than once.
Obviously I can’t get into these plot points for the sake of those who haven’t seen it, but if you’d like a 3rd SPOILER review, let me know.
I urge everyone to see this film more than once to pick up on the subtle, heartbreaking details you can only realise on second viewing.
A Star is Born demands my highest rating.
