Hand feeding one of Santa’s little helpers!
We think this little miss is called Winter Rain and she’s a resident at the Granite Belt Christmas Farm.
If you’re around Stanthorpe, we highly recommend stopping by. The kids absolutely loved hand feeding the deer and other farm animals, exploring the fields of Christmas trees, and were in awe at the amazing collection of Christmas decorations on offer in the shop.
They even play Christmas carols year round and sell amazing Belgian hot chocolate. 🍫 How could you not love that combination?! It’s every kid’s dream!
Pop over to the official @sqcountry page as well, to see the amazing location of our campsite tonight. It’s a stunner!
This guy LOVES feeding time. Sundays are for water changes and weekly blood worms.. I find they always prefer the frozen ones over the freeze dried!
He normally has to follow my finger on order to get his pellets and I am slowly teaching him some circle work tricks hence why I had to tap my finger on the water so he knew it was time to chase for his feed. This fish is such a character and loves being hand fed his weekly pea and blood worms.
A word of advice to always be careful when doing this as it does encourage them to jump so always make sure your lids have no gaps as you would be surprised at what they can squeeze through! Also he has had a name change and goes by Sicily now after one of my fave Aussie Rules Hawthorn players, he is very smart and super super aggressive also but I say that as a compliment to the great man @jsicily6 🤣!! (yes that is the VFL final in the background come on #boxhillhawks )
Hand feeding a small herd in a drought isn't always easy...particularly when you have a 400kg bale coming your way and you're the doorstop between it and it falling into the creek!....we have a lot of empathy for those big cattle farmers. I'm not allowed to name the cute one with the white face 😉
I went to the Wolong China Giant Panda Garden today to do some volunteering! They breed and raise panda’s here to release them back into the wild. I literally got to hug and hand feed panda’s, it was amazing. More pics in one of my next posts so stay tuned! 🐼🌿
