SESAME CHARRED SHISHITO PEPPERS W/ LIME + FURIKAKE
1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
1 Lb Shishito Peppers
1 Tbsp Furikake Spice
1 Fresh Lime
1 Tbsp Shoyu Soy
1 tsp Smoked Maldon Salt
In a large cast-iron skillet or wok, heat 1 tsp of the sesame oil until moderately hot but not smoking.
While oil is heating, use a skewer and poke a hole into the side of each of the peppers.
When the oil is up to temperature, add half of the peppers and cook turning occasionally, until charred and tender, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl. Repeat with the remaining oil and peppers.
Cut the lime in half lengthwise and squeeze half the lime into the roasted Shishitos. Cut the remaining lime into wedges.
Add the 1 tablespoon of furikake and shoyu to the shishitos and toss to combine; season with flaky sea salt.
Transfer to a platter; garnish with more furikake.
Serve immediately with lime wedges, a cold drink of choice and Netflix + Chill
Repost @forkandfarmyyc These hot summer days make us crave cool ocean breezes. Here in land-locked #yyc our Brown Butter Braised Canadian Scallops seem like a fair compromise👌
With fondant local potato, crispy pork belly, basil goddess, pickled shallot, and warm citrus vinaigrette.

Got some exciting events coming up in the brewery world! It’s relieving when I push through something terrible, and it feels like that incident didn’t shape my perception of the thing itself. I loved working at a local brewery for a year and a half, but I didn’t love being harassed by my coworkers. I also lost two dear friends while working there and had to miss both funerals because I was out of the country—one of which was my closest friend at work. I came back to a volatile dishwasher who on his first night was aggressive and inappropriate at work towards me without repercussion. I struggled with losing this place at first because of all the great people who came in and a couple of the good ones that worked with me. At first, I wasn’t sure that my budget could handle the loss, which as a single mother was scary. But now?? I can see the growth and opportunity it’s given me. At the end of the day, be kind to people and protect your peace 🍻🌱#growthmindset
#fsasks#thisisme @fibreshare asked for 3 fun facts about me... I love all things vintage(if you can’t tell from my feed. Lol) I have what I call Crafting ADD, if it’s a craft, I’ve likely done it, I knit, crochet, dye and sew(I’ve even played a bit with spinning) and I love a good book more than almost anything else in the world(aside from my mini-me) #ima30yearoldgranny#grannyatheart#handcraftedeverything
