Here's the moment bell chimes rang out from the 150ft tower of the Royal Victoria Chapel with HRH The Countess of Wessex at the rope. The historic landmark, the only remains of the former Royal Victoria military hospital which once stood on the site, was formally reopened by The Countess this week following a major conservation project. It has stood over Southampton Water since 1856 and it offers breath-taking panoramic views across Royal Victoria Country Park, the Solent and beyond. The public can climb the 109 steps to the top of the Tower and marvel at the spectacular views.
We love it when @the_running_photographer comes to visit Bere Mill! Check out his feed for beautiful pictures of his adventures in stunning landscapes, often around Whitchurch. Thanks for featuring us George (and @instabritain and @uk.shots 👍) #beremill#beremillfarm#countryside#thisiswhitchurchants#rivertest#hampshire#countrylife#naturelovers#visithampshire Repost from @the_running_photographer using @RepostRegramApp - That morning glow.
I’m loving the fact we’re entering into the tail end of Autumn where you get the big frosts as and misty mornings. Photography dream land. (The above is an older photo of one of my favourite local mills which unfortunately burnt down last year and is in the mid of a mass restoration project.. officially one of my fave places in the world and can’t wait to see it come back to life again @beremillfarm )
6 hour slow cooked rich oxtail stew. A highlight of my winter demos. Buttery soft oxtail in a rich veggie sauce cooked for hours until the meat falls off the bone. Perfect with buttery mash and greens or even on pasta with a grating of Parmesan. Winter food at its best.
Wednesday Tip- always always make sure you keep an eye on your guttering, especially this time of year. With the heavy amount of leaves falling they can become extremely blocked and will wreak havoc in your home! Making sure your cleaning them out at least once a year will help prevent: Damp walls, rotten roof supports and damaged fascias. Keeping them clear will also save you heaps of money in repairs and damages! Keep them clean people 👍
