Check out my wife @zeymirna she has an awesome halal food blog that she has recently started. We would love to hear suggestions from all of you, especially about new places we haven't been to yet. Our goal is to support restaurants that have fantastic customer service, quality meals, and most importantly zabiha food.

Finally took a trip to to Smorgasburg open-air food market in Williamsburg and had so much fun! (apart from almost getting heatstroke from the sun! Hey that rhymes. Anyway...) I’ll admit I was disappointed at the lack of halal food options, but there were so many veggie, vegan and fish options to try that it was difficult to choose what to eat! It runs every Saturday and Sunday until October! Anyone else been yet? #foodie#foodiesdream#dreamcometrue#nyceats
When a roadman wants a #halalgirl he’ll do whatever it takes. @str88tlkn I’ve known men who’ve have changed their beliefs because they fell in love with a “halal girl,” THEIR WHOLE BELIEF SYSTEM.
There’s no denying there’s something special about “halal girls” even #roadmanshaq here can see it.
There’s something about the hijab that screams “confidence, independence and self discipline” (there’s more) but even people that don’t understand the religion can appreciate it. 😂😂😂 First get halal then get you a “halal girl.” (Hijab is an Arabic word meaning barrier or partition) we all have our boundaries but where do they begin and end?
I had such an amazing experience at capadocia the other day. Iam crazy for anything turkish. Their drama's, their food, people, Iam just obsessed. I actually look for turkish restraunts everywhere and we came across this one in milton keynes. I loved the atmosphere, it was so relaxing. We had prawns for starters with creamy mash potatoes (for muawwidh) he loved it so much. And the prawns were so good! then came the main course which was absolutely delicious. Iam literally craving for it right now. Their starter sauces are out of the world. And how can I forget their mint mojito, its to die for.
Rating 4/5 (because the salad was not fresh)

My favourite thing to do while in Abu Dhabi or Dubai is to read the names of all the western shops in Arabic. The best had to be “Baba Joonz” (Papa John’s بابا جونز) and “Krisby kreem” (كرسبي كريم ) 😂 does anyone else do this?! Which one cracked you up most?
Reading them left to right is just too mainstream for my liking 💁🏻♀️ #Arabic#abudhabi#dubaifashion
Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fafu annee ✨ اللْهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي (O Allah you are pardoning, you love to pardon, so pardon me). . I remember listening to a talk a few Ramadans ago about this beautiful Dua’a that we are encouraged to recite during the last 10 nights of this blessed month. .We so often ask God to forgive us for our shortcomings, but there is wisdom and beauty in the choice of words used in this Dua’a. Instead of the word forgive (Maghfirah), the word pardon (Afuw) is used. Forgiveness by God is for Him to omit any punishment for a wrongdoing but still recognise it and record it. However for Him to pardon a wrong doing would be to completely erase it from our book of deeds, as if it never happened at all. . .
As Ramadan comes to a close, and we seek Laylat-Ul-Qadr (the night of power), let us as a community remember eachother in our prayers. Let us make sincere Dua’a for our family and friends and even for those who we don’t know. May God accept all of our fasts, good deeds, prayers, efforts and intentions during this month and pardon us for our shortcomings, Aameen ❤️ #ramadan#sheikhzayedmosque#alhamdulillah

I love dressing up in Shulwar Kameez for Iftar to feel more festive during this holy month! (dress from @sanasafinazofficial - one of my favourites!) I also LOVE seeing so many amazing, creative charity projects appear during Ramadan. This year, my favourite by far is @thedateproject . Organised by SKT welfare, The Date Project ethically source Medjool dates from Jordan and sell them in beautifully designed tins, with 100% of the profits going to charity.
There are 4 tins to choose from:
They can be bought online at www.thedateproject.org and delivered straight to your door at just £10 each! They make for really cute gifts if you’re going to someone’s house for Iftar, or simply buy them for your family this Ramadan!
They deliver across the UK but unfortunately don’t deliver to the US (yet!) but to all my friends in America, you guys can still contribute by donating online towards their amazing projects! (Link in bio @skt_welfare)
Be sure to check out the @skt_welfare page for reminders and more information on their charity projects, and also @qesahmed who created the stunning video on their website! (Ps this post isn’t sponsored, nor are any of my friends or family working at SKT welfare, I just genuinely love this project and wanted to share it with as many people as possible!) #charity#thedateproject#ramadan2018
BAND OF BURGERS REVIEW
Went to Band of Burgers located in Brick Lane because Urban Braai was busy.
I ordered the Sexy Mexican Maid which is a chicken burger served with jalapeño, chilli cheese, spicy tomatoes relish, guacamole and sour cream on the side. What they don't tell you is the thick burger bun it comes in which made it difficult to eat and became full quickly from eating the bun. My chicken wasn't burnt like Urban Braai but the burger bun just ruined it. The cheesy chips wasn't nice at all and on the menu it says home made fries topped with premium melted cheese. The chips was not home made and and can easily tell the cheese was cheap, it wasn't worth £4.80. The only thing we enjoyed was the chicken nuggets and the Calamari was not the best but still okay.
Home made chips is the best and unfortunately you cannot fool me with your store bought ones. Please take this off the menu or at least tell your customers the truth or you could get in the kitchen and start chopping.
I suggest you take a trip down to Sainsbury's for the potatoes and buy Pilgrims Choice Mature Cheddar Cheese currently selling for £2.50, this is not expensive at all and taste really nice (some might say premium). I only wish that Band of BURGERS and Urban Braai was both busy on the days I went because eating their burgers honestly felt like a punishment.
I rate this place 2 out of 10 based on the starters tasting okay and they also gave us chicken nuggets at the beginning for free because the food was taking too long to come out. (Sorry the pictures quality isn't so great due to the restaurant bad lighting).
URBAN BRAAI REVIEW
Last week I went to Urban Braai located in Brick Lane which was recommended by a friend, what I thought was going to be a great evening turned into a disappointing one. For starters we ordered 6 piece peri peri wings and for mains Durban Double and Chicken Peri-Toria (both are burgers). It didn't take too long to get our food and our drinks order came out straight after we ordered. When the wings came out it looked really nice however it tasted burnt. There was sauce on the wings and when moving the sauce aside with my finger uncovered the burnt skin of the wings. I though this was very sneaky. We told the waiter and he said he can take this off our bill which was the right thing to do and he took the wings away because it was inedible. When the mains came out my Chicken Peri-Toria (burger) looked good and the chips looked tasty but my tastebuds tells me another story. My chicken was burnt and again they covered it up with sauce...again very sneaky. We showed the waiter and he said it's suppose to be like that (lying is haram by the way) and basically refused to take this off the bill because we asked for the wings to be taken off. At the end he only gave 10% off for my burnt burger. The first time in my life I was able to easily finish my chips because I barely touched my burger.
Overall was very disappointed with Urban Braai, the wings and my burger was burnt. The menu we had was being held together by cello tape and the toilet stunk so bad. The only thing we enjoyed was the chips and the Durban Double was fine as it wasn't burnt.
I suggest you keep an eye on the food so it doesn't burn and fix the menus and that awful smell in the toilet because everything inside your restaurant represent your food so if they are bad your customers will assume the food must be too. Take a trip down to Sainsbury's and buy Air Wick Freshmatic auto spray. It only cost £9 and will leave your toilet smelling nice for up to 60 days. For the menu....well you look for a company, I can't do all the work for you.
I rate this place 2 out of 10
