ringo's mother, suzuka fujioka, was the lead guitarist and background vocalist of revolutionary 80s sapporo hair metal band electric fairy. electric fairy were never commercially successful but a favorite in the japanese underground metal scene. suzuka married the band's vocalist, naoto yonezu, when they were both 22 but the marriage was very short lived because after six months suzuka got noticed by a major label and got an offer to reinvent herself as a citypop/j-idol artist. being short on money suzuka took the offer and quit electric fairy, which she considers the biggest mistake of her life. as an idol she was extremely successful but felt the pressure was high and she fucking hated the music she was forced to do so she quit the industry at 26 and decided to go to university where she met ringo's father kenta horie and they got married shortly after. suzuka remains close friends with all of her former bandmates, especially naoto, who she had teach ringo guitar
Well, big news time. It’s with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from Hair Nation - Ultimate 80's Hair Rock Band and Fallen Angel - Poison Tribute. Solely my decision, and not one made lightly, it’s just that the time is finally right to make a change. We had a great run, and I’m really proud of all the work we put in to take both bands to the next level.
I will be continuing with my other groups (Hysteria - Def Leppard Tribute and Dr. Crüe - Mötley Crüe Tribute), and as well have more time for my other interests in art (stay tuned for gallery showings/exhibits/artwalks) and classical music (I’ll be performing in Seattle Opera’s production of ‘Carmen’ in May 2019).
In the meantime, I'll continue to honor HN & FA’s current show commitments, and rock your asses off with the bands through the end of the year and into early 2019 (unless they find a great fit on the low end before then). Also, the occasional subbing on future shows is not out of the question either. 😉
So, if you have what it takes to rule the stage with these guys, send them a message!
That said, I love the heck out of these guys, wish them all the best and much success in the future! Please keep supporting both bands, and hell, you’ll even see me in the crowd from time to time!
Here are some career highlight pics with these guys. Rock on, brothers! 🤘😎🎸
