There was frost on my windshield this morning but I'm wearing sandals because I didn't want to take the extra time to wear my sneakers. I don't think my toes will turn blue...but before they do, here's the next haiku in the story, over halfway done! Enjoy! #halloween#haiku#creativewriting#creativeproject#day16of31
2part Haiku: An Empty Heart.
This haiku is partly inspired while I'm listening to Xion's theme of Kingdom Hearts. It has a sad undertone, feeling of lost and painful memories buried deep inside the heart that surfaced from time to time. I guess no matter how deep you bury that sword, it is still there till someone helps you to pull it out. Hope you all enjoy this piece 😊.
This is me waiting at the Apple store while my friend’s phone was being fixed.
The linebacker looking guy who helped me moments before was abnormally calm for working at a store where people usually scramble like it’s an ant colony shaken up by a mischievous school boy.
I asked him, “This place never gets to you? Never stresses you out?” He gave me the are you kidding me face and said, “Not after my last job. I was an MP.” Military Police.
Life is perspective.
So, dear reader, in this moment, let’s take a breath together, abide in perspective and receive a bit of calmness.
Thank you. – gb

There are interesting things hidden in these two chapters that are mainly about death and destruction in the name of God.
First, we have the folks from Gibeon. They trick Joshua into an alliance by pretending to be people from far away. Joshua makes the alliance with them before he realizes what’s happening and before he prays or takes it to God.
When he realizes what has happened he still upholds the alliance. This leads to more war.
Then we have the very strange versus: “Sun stand still at Gibeon! And moon at the Aijalon Valley! The sun stood still and the moon stood motionless until he nation took revenge on its enemies. Isn’t this written in the Jashar scroll? The sun stood motionless in the middle of the sky for a whole day it was in no hurry to go down. 10.12-14
In my beginning days as a literal fundamentalist, people did gymnastics to do math that proved that the earth stood still one day Interrupting the natural cycles of the world.
We have a lot of death and killing, weird things happening in the sky, and an unholy alliance is formed! Sounds like the plot to a really interesting movie.
Also I would like to note that they execute the Kings that are coming against Joshua by having them lay down and put their feet on the next of the Kings. That is one method of gangland killings. The enemy ladies with their head on the curb in a street and someone stands with their foot on the neck and stomps down and snaps of her neck. If you want to see what this looks like, the movie American X has a graphic portrayal.
I think the only thing I can come up for leadership is these folks from Gibeon. Sometimes you have to go under cover to survive. That is something we as #queer folk know. I would encourage those of us who can pass, to remember everyone who cannot pass and is oppressed. It is tiring to be undercover all the time. But at least it is safe in the worst of situations. Be #intersectional . #bible#joshua#poetry#leadership#leaders#haiku#umc#christianity#poet#pnwumc#scripture#gonzaga#seattle#moral#ethics#lgbt#faithfullylgbt
My new book is here! five seven five is a book of haiku about life in the city of Chicago. I wrote one a day for a year, and this is the collection from that. Https://davidjpfisher.com/fivesevenfive #haiku#poetry#chicago
When I took a dried teabag apart I thought I totally wrecked it.... but wait, it just made me wonder what I could to save it. So I made a dress out of it and used a brush ink pen to make the body to put it on. then I used watercolor to decorate the dress and her red (tag) purse. A fashion designer I’ll never be😂😂
'coming down the aisle
we have a beautiful dress
perfect for tea time'
This teabag art is addicting! #haiku#teabagart
It's been over a long time. 10 1/2 months since the final message. Her last words were that she loved me. But there is much that human love cannot overcome.
It hurt for quite a while. She had been important to me. We can all tell such stories.
This heart is good at love. Good at acceptance. Good at holding on when the loved one falls. It's not so good at loss.
Once, we shared so much that was good. Much that was excellent.
It's a shame there could never be a rescued friendship. But I never expected there would be. Not for a moment.
I've come a long way since it ended. That night I had already sat cowering for two hours unable to move because of a hallucination. And then I said the words that meant we could say goodbye.
Those days of hallucinating purple men are long gone. I've got off meds. I've done all sorts I thought impossible for me. I've uncovered a lot about myself that needs supporting and had difficult revelations. Lots of hard work in this ongoing recovery from the mess I was in then.
Life is better now. It doesn't contain a friendship and relationship that used to be wonderful - as facebook keeps reminding me with memories. But it's better.
Time will explain why
The hero or the villan
Could of worn your name.
How your choices may
Displace, assumptions and the
knowledge you hold in.
That to have hope in
yourself is not a sin even if
You are sinful now.
The hurt you faced
Could be the reason for
Finding inner peace.
