A wonderful first dinner at @hadjidragan tasting traditional Bulgarian food!
First course was a lamb stew, served in a loaf of bread. The lamb was fall-apart tender and so savoury and delicious!
Second course was Djulbastia - pork knuckle cooked with potatoes, red pepper, soft cheese and yellow cheese.
I also had the home-brewed white wormwood wine that had been aged with 24 herbs, quince, medlars and apples.
Dessert was banitsa cake, similar to borek with filo pastry layered with eggs and cheese, and then orange syrup poured over the just baked pastry. Delicious!
