“Sometimes, when you're deep in the countryside, you meet three girls, walking along the hill tracks in the dusk, spinning. They each have a spindle, and on to these they are spinning the moonlight, the moon itself. Night after night, you can see the moon getting less and less, the ball of light waning, while it grows on the spindles of the maidens. Then, at length, the moon is gone, and the world has darkness and rest. On the darkest night, the maidens take their spindles down to the sea, to wash their wool. And the wool slips from the spindles into the water, and unravels in long ripples of light from the shore to the horizon, and there is the moon again, rising above the sea. Only when all the wool is washed, and wound again into a white ball in the sky, can the moon-spinners start their work once more." - Mary Stewart
I'm not even sure that my Greek-American husband knows that long before we met and married, I read The Moonspinners by Mary Stewart in high school, and fell a little bit in love with the rocky island of Crete. His mother is a native of Crete, and we've been back there many times in the last 8 years to visit family, explore the caverns of the Cyclades and drive around the coastline of the southernmost island in Europe, drink it's wine, stuff ourselves on it's seafood and soak ourselves in the ambrosiant cocktail of salty sea air and fragrant olive groves. I remember Mary Stewart capturing that sense of danger and excitement that comes with adventuring into the unknown; and I carry this feeling with me every time my husband and I hop onto a motorcycle and whip around the narrow highways of Greece in our latest exploration.
The Moonspinners collection is inspired by this long-loved feeling, the desire to step off the beaten path and see what's beyond. A rugged yet refined and inspired set of designs, the full collection will feature rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, all in rustic polished bronze and refined sterling silver.
It can be easy to lose that feeling of adventure as we grow and bring jobs, dreams, and children into the world; this collection is my way of carrying that feeling with me, and keeping it close.
Coming October 2018.

Being from New England, fall was always my favorite season 🍁 But there’s something about all the sunflowers and wild flowers in Colorado that has me hanging onto summer this year! 🌻
Pictured is an adjustable ring I whipped up the other day 💫 I plan on making a bunch more tonight and tomorrow. What kinds of stones should I use? Opalite and silver is already on the list 😍 #inspiraledcreations#whimsicaljewelry
