The cornerstone to successful lifting. Being strong is all well and good but if you can't see yourself making the lift, then 🤷🏼♀️ you are kinda screwed.
Being worried and trying to remember all your technical cues, won't actually help when it comes to execution. I only ever choose 1 mayyyybe 2 cues in my head. Deadlifts my cue is chest up, and then everything else I have practised follows suit.
I always take a second before I approach the bar to imagine what me doing this lift/ set perfectly will look like. Then it's all confidence because we'll I've already seen me do it 🤷🏼♀️
Do I lose myself sometimes?? OF COURSE! WE ALL DO! Sometimes it doesn't go as planned and I worry and stress and then it tends to keep not going as planned.
Confidence is the strength that gets overlooked so much and ESPECIALLY by new lifters. If you are not at risk for injury, then visualize and go for it. Make adjustments after the set.
Trust me, if you have been having problems executing lifts, try just taking a moment beforehand, visualize how it will look, how it will feel and then with confidence go for it. -
❤️❤️ terrible quality photo I'm sorry! My camera is broken.
