|| WATER 💦
Drinking water increases the amount of calories you burn, which is known as resting energy expenditure.
In adults, resting energy expenditure has been shown to increase by 24–30% within 10 minutes of drinking water. This lasts at least 60 minutes
Drinking more makes you feel fuller and helps curb those cravings. Most the time when we are getting those 2pm hunger pings - we realy just need a big gulp of water!
As the weather is warming up I naturally feel drawn to more raw food- crunchy and juicy. I love making salad boats with some coriander guacamole, grated carrots & sauerkraut for an energising lunch snack. There is such satisfaction in eating the whole food by itself and really appreciating its’ texture & flavour. And my body likes the simplicity too- I digest better and have more energy! #simplicity
Better late than never. Felt good enough after my evening at a Gut Health workshop with @loveyourguts learning about leaky gut and how to restore your gut health that I got in a freezing cold late night walk with my #tiupup and a late night arm workout and stretching routine and now I’m relaxing with a warm cup of coco gold which is a delicious mix of turmeric, lucuma and maca! For those of you who haven’t tried it I highly recommend it! #tiuteam#tiumamatobe#tiupregnancy#loveyourguts#guthealth#tiuyyc

"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained." - Marie Curie
The texts, social media messages, and carrier pigeons (okay none of those YET, but waiting for the awesome day when that happens)––of prayers and kind words the past few weeks have been incredible. I cannot begin to say how much it's meant to Mike and I.
I've been asked more lately how I stay so positive in my health roller coaster––and I must say the quote above really speaks volumes for me💛
Life is not easy for ANYONE. We all have something we battle––may it be physical, mental, or spiritual––sometimes it's all three. So what do I do? Well, after I curl up in a little ball on the floor in front of Mike's desk and just cry it out...for awhile. I tell myself I am a warrior agmonst millions of others in battle. I remind myself that 'I am gifted for something and that this thing be attained'. So I get up, and keep fighting in confidence of that 'thing' that's going to come. And I picture it huge, epic, and revolutionary––and you can't do those things while laying on mat. You have to fight.💪🏻
....and please don't forget homemade banana bread, making your dog dance like a human to 90's pop, and online shopping at Target––those always help too 🙃
With social media teeming with vibrant salads and promoting raw food diets, many of us think that eating raw food is good for you.
YOU ARE TERRIBLY WRONG!
Mother Nature puts anti-nutritional factors and toxins in grains, nuts, seeds, beans, vegetables and fruit for a variety of reasons. For example, block seeds from sprouting prematurely, to harm insects, animals and other predators including humans that would otherwise eat too many of them. Plants produce inhibitors and other anti-nutrients to save the plant species. Although it might sound like a “rotten idea,” squirrels are smart to bury nuts in the ground, then dig them up and eat them weeks and months later. Similarly, people in traditional cultures all over the world process their grains, nuts, seeds and beans by a process akin to pre-digestion before cooking and eating them.
Cooking deactivates most of the protease inhibitors. But given the growing tendency to fill up on plant foods, and the fashionability of “live food” (raw) vegan diets, more and more people are eating foods with their protease inhibitor content intact. Ppl believe their diets provide plenty of protein, but in fact protein swallowed is not the same as protein digested when protease inhibitors are in the picture.
The measure of good food is not just the vitamins and minerals it contains, but how the food interacts with the body.
Cooked food is much easier to digest, but cooking destroys some vitamins and minerals. However, the vitamins left can be easily digested and assimilated by the body without further compromise to the digestive system. The body is very efficient and a small amount of vitamins and minerals can go a long way if your body can get them.
CONCLUSION: Blanch or cook your vegetables and greens, activate nuts, eat fermented sourdough bread.

Ahh throwback memories! ♥️ 2.5 years ago when I decided I was tired of being sick and tired and ready for a change! It’s amazing what better health can do and the confidence it brings!! I didn’t have a tape measurer at the time but it was amazing to see the muffin top bulge be replaced with enough inches lost that I could fit a huge hairspray bottle in my jeans! And after only 8 DAYS on my first jumpstart!! If you’re ready for real results, let’s chat!
You’ll either be like the old me and packing on pounds during the holidays or the new me who loves having a system to keep me in check! 😉 Your choice my friend!
I posted this last year and it’s still rings so true!! Fear is a LIAR. It is straight from the devil!
And myself along with Plexus are working on getting that body back. 😍 I’m well aware nothing happens overnight and my products are working a great deal in me postpartum!! #noPPD at all! Praise God. I feel bliss! Im completely and totally in love with my baby boy. I’m just so grateful for Plexus 💗
Here’s what I shared, “I used to live in total fear.. I cared so much about other people’s opinions of me. I look back now and have no idea why. Don’t get me wrong, I care about people and value their opinions but people’s opinions of me and my life went out the window after starting Plexus. One of the many many and least talked about blessings Plexus has restored back in my life is confidence. I am the spunky, fun, happy, “do ALL the things” Mom I’ve always wanted to be!! I have always wanted to be a strong confident woman for my amazing little girls to watch! I aspire to be better everyday for them, every single day! I want to be their biggest role model, Super Woman in their eyes so that they grow up being strong and confident themselves! My biggest dream is to raise them to know they can literally do anything they want to and be anything they want in life as long as they themselves believe that they can!! Fear will not be a factor in their lives if I have anything to do with it!! #fearisaliar#raisingleaders#strongwomen#confidence#plexus#guthealth#guthealthmatters#consistency#wellness#prevention#lvhealthcoach#nutrition#healthylifestyle#naturalhealthtips#healthcoach#ingredientsmatters
I think it’s awesome that @1stphorm continually sends me my #optigreens50 with a personally handwritten thank you note on my receipts each and every time. “Thanks Michelle! Enjoy the Greens and your support is always appreciated. Keep working hard!” How awesome is that!!! I drink my Opti-greens 50 every single day #guthealth They are by far the best I’ve ever had. Hence I’m on monthly auto delivery. I can never be out of them. 👌🏽
Another snap of yesterday’s breakfast because it’s prettier than this mornings one!
Swipe for what this morning looked like.
Gosh I’m so tired! I was so grateful to past me that I’d made these and they were sitting in the fridge waiting for me! And delicious as usual- maybe even more so than normal! Macadamia butter oats topped with defrosted wild blueberries. So good!
Oh boy did I used to have these! It’s been 2 years now since I felt crummy enough to want to try one more thing. My friend felt amazing and got off meds, shoot if it worked for her it Had to be worth a try. 🙌🏻 I sure am glad I was open to improving my gut health. I’ve had more positive results than I could have ever imagined. 🤲🏻 When are you going to take that leap and see what really could change? 🤭 It’s no secret, I’ll tell you all about it! 🤗 #takeachanceonme#guthealth#leapoffaith#dontwaittobesick
Was introduced to Rad Tonic, a sparkling probiotic kvass, at my local food market. All the way from Margaret River, where it is produced, with pure water, beetroot, lime, salt, probiotic cultures, and all certified organic.👍 Three flavours, tastes great, gut nourishing and an excellent energiser! Will certainly buy again! Thank you Andrew for your fantastic tonic!😄 #health#nutrition # tonic #probiotics#guthealth#healthydrink#beetroot#healthychoice

Can’t wait until this batch is fermented and ready to eat!! TURMERIC SAURKRAUT
1 whole drumhead cabbage, sliced
1/2 sweet potato, grated
3 carrots, grated
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small knob of ginger, finely chopped
2 tablespoons sea salt
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
Massage cabbage & sea salt together for roughly 5 minutes, until cabbage has broken down, reduced in quantity & released a lot of juice.
Add remaining ingredients, massage for a further 5 minutes. Portion into sterilised jars, leaving about an inch or so between the kraut & the lid as it will expand. Make sure the mix is completely covered in the liquid, if you need some more use filtered water or cooled boiled water, but you shouldn’t need to top it up. Put lids on jars and leave in cupboard anywhere from a couple of days to a week, taking the lids off and releasing the gases every 24 hours or so. Once it’s reached your desired fermentation, store in the fridge & tuck in!
Fear and love are really the only two groups of feelings we encounter. They are either fear based emotions and feelings. Or they are of love. Fear then presents itself in many ways. Like stress. Or simply as fear itself. But love and fear cannot exist in the same moment. The moment we encounter and reconnect to love fear cannot exist. Love is the great conqueror of fear. And death. And all things that the darkness tries to hold. Fear is not a part of Jun’s journey. She recognizes it. She dismantled it. She is so heavily created on love that all things shine the moment they are with her. She is beautiful. She is courageous. She owns her space and she will walk you from fear to love xxx #withlove#ofthegods
Jun lives to tackle the darkness. In sitting and sipping her she works to dismantle the darkness within. Stress is a part of this. Stress comes from fear. It belongs to the fear family. It’s the fear within our thoughts and actions that creates the stress. The fear of failing creates stress the fear of how we will be seen. What others will think of us. If we are enough. All of these build the stress in our life. Jun is well equipped to cope with stress. She knows about quiet contemplation and deep consideration. She asks us for time to truly step out of the main frame of thinking to discover how the fear creating the stress is only in our mind. She loves to untangle it and ease our soul. I love her work! #gutmindconnection#withlove#ofthegods
There’s a lot of talk about love in the Jun world. It’s with love that she is bought to you. From love that she is created. In love with all things that she stands. She’s also very clear about the journey of love and wellness. Ultimately wellness is the journey of self love. It’s the moment we decide we love ourselves that we begin to seek out wellness. We feel we are worthy. We seek to care and nurture and tend to our truth. We want health. We want happiness and joy. We seek to balance our mind and soul. Love is one of Jun’s main ingredients. Not just from me but from life. Through the stars and the luminaries and the essence of life she comes to you. I look forward to her sharing her journey with you. #junjourney#withlove#ofthegods
... a time for all things ....
We talk a lot about letting go
Because it’s an essential skill to learn
Nature does it perfectly
It flows and follows with its instincts
We sometimes are all keen to grow
And forget the letting go
Sometimes because it’s painful
Sometimes we just don’t pay attention
Sometimes we are afraid
But the release is one of the great catalysts to our growth.
It’s the moment that we are drawn back
To propel forward
The importance of letting go to our wellbeing
Is that it allows us to acknowledge our own growth
And with growth
We move and change and adapt into new ways
It’s part of our natural growth
Just as it is in nature. ....
And just like nature
Our letting go is a beautiful experience
One that we can honour and cherish in loving who we are
A good experience with a product for me begins first visually, and secondly with its packaging. I’m usually just as excited about a product’s packaging (if it’s designed well) as the product itself!
@seed’s packaging for their Daily Synbiotic is fascinating and inspiring and here’s why:
〰️Every piece of printed material, including Seed’s shipper box is Forest Steward Councilship (FSC) certified and sourced from responsibly managed forests. It’s all recyclable!
〰️The Daily Synbiotic comes in a tray made from Mycelium (mushrooms!). It’s 100% compostable.
〰️Seed’s refill program means you’ll only have to purchase one (recyclable) glass container. If you choose the subscription service, your monthly refill will come in a home-compostable bio-based pouch. A corn foam that is biodegradable, compostable, edible, and dissolves in water (this is my favorite part!) protects your refill while its on its way to you.
...and that is just the beginning of all the amazing-ness that is @seed.
🙌It is soup season!!🙌
When I travel I find it quite challenging to stick to a certain diet. But when I am home I do enjoy to cook healthy meals and discover new recipes. For the past 6 months I've been on a journey to heal my gut, so constantly looking for delicious "gut- friendly" recipes. I just found this one -delicious Turmeric Zucchini soup😋 It is simple and easy to make. .
You will need:
-2 pounds Zucchini (trimmed and chopped)
-1 tbsp. minced garlic
- about 3 cups veggie stock
-1/5 cup coconut milk (I like the one in a can)
- 1 cup chopped yellow onion
- 1tbsp coconut oil - 2 tsp. curry or turmeric powder - 1 tbsp apple cider
Chopped cilantro for garnish, salt, pepper.
1. Cook garlic and onion in coconut oil ( untill soft, about 3 mins).Add the curry or turmeric powder, salt stir and cook for a couple of mins.
2. Add the Zucchini, stir and cook for 5-6 mins, add the stock and bring to boil. Simmer untill the zucchini is very tender.
3. Puree the zucchini mix in a blender, add apple vinegar and return to medium heat, stir in coconut milk for about 3 mins.
4. Garnish with cilantro (I like to add pumpkin seeds as well). Enjoy😋💛 .
Do you guys know any fun, healing recipes? If so, please let me know ( links, website, blogs). I would be very grateful🙏
As a consequence, your body goes into starvation mode, and it triggers the signal to eat. So, you start eating and eating, and inevitably you stop the diet----and that’s the classic rebound weight gain scenario. And to make matters worse, when you lose weight, only about half of what is lost is fat, and the rest is valuable metabolically active muscle. Yet, when someone regains the weight, it’s nearly completely fat. Oh…that’s interesting. Now, here is something that’s important----muscle cells burn 70X more calories than fat cells. So, if you, when you go on a diet and you lose muscle, but you regain the weight and it’s nearly completely fat, then what that means is that yo-yo dieting makes you lose a big part of your metabolic engine. So, if you’ve been through a number of diets like I have, and they failed, then your body has been through this process a number of times. And ultimately, since dieting makes you fat, what you want to get away from, we don’t want to be in the diet mentality any more. What we’re undertaking together this will be a big challenge, is a way of eating. Not a diet.
I love this kid. It was her turn to visit the dentist (first time) and she was SO excited. She made friends with most of the office, happily got her teeth polished, chose a sticky hand AND ring (she was offered 2 prizes), and was very sincerely interested in all the hygienist and dentist had to say.
What did the dentist have to say? Well, no cavities. But he was also very interested in what kind of vitamins and probiotics we were giving her. He was relieved that we were staying away from gummy vitamins. They are so full of sugar and get stuck in teeth. In the dental world, they are as bad as candy. Okay, so I actually knew that. But here’s what I did not know. Dentist’s hate gummy probiotics even more. Why??? Yes, they are full of sugar and sticky. But the lactobacillus in gummy probiotics gets stuck in teeth and is cariogenic. That’s dentist speak for, “It causes tooth decay.” So while taking care of your kid’s gut health is paramount, once again, it is essential that we search out the right probiotics and multivitamins. They are not all created equal. I’d love to share with you about the amazing two in one chewable (not a gummy) that is giving this princess plenty to smile about (as if she needed an excuse). #dentist#dentalhygienist#saycheese#pearlywhites#kidsvitamins#guthealth#probiotics#warriormama#healthykids#noellebeauties#LifeIsBestLived
Din din 🤤
Y’all....I like broccoli...am I weird?
When I was little my dad would steam broccoli, make velveeta cheese with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper and drizzle it all over the broccoli...mmmmmm!
Now I just like to steam it with a little sprinkle of salt & pepper!
How do you eat your broccoli? If you don’t like broccoli, how do you get your greens at dinner time?
P.S. I like being weird 🙃
Because who doesn’t love pizza?! 😜 Want a fun way to get your pizza on while still getting in more veggies? Try any of the options in the top row!
My personal favorite is the portobella pizza but all of these are great fun options you can make at home. Get crazy with it and add some fun toppings of choice! Info below:
Bell pepper pizza - 1/2 bell pepper, 1/4 cup marinara sauce, 2 tbsp mozzarella cheese + 2 broccoli florets.
Portable pizza - 1/2 Portabella mushroom cap, 1/4 cup marinara sauce, 2 tbsp mozzarella cheese, 2 basil leaves, 1 olive cut into slices.
Zucchini pizza boats - 1/2 zucchini, 1/4 cup marinara sauce, 2 tbsp mixed cheese, 2 cherry tomatoes.
Rice cake pizza - 1 rice cake, 1/4 cup marinara sauce, 2 basil leaves, 2 tbsp mozzarella cheese.
Pita pizza - 1 medium pita, 1/4 cup marinara sauce, 2 tbsp mozzarella cheese, 2 basil leaves + 3 cherry tomatoes.
Pizza pizza - Ordered from the doughroom in Culver City haha Because sometimes you can treat yo self to a damn real pizza.
How to cook the veggie pizzas:
1 - Preheat oven to 350F.
2 - Scoop out the inside of the mushroom, bell pepper or zucchini boat (you can cook the bell pepper or zucchini in oven before adding toppings or add toppings then cook if you don’t need it well done. Mushroom you can add the toppings right away & cook)
3 - Add 1/4 cup marinara, toppings & cheese
4 - Bake in oven for about 10 minutes then enjoy!
You can bake the pita & rice cake in oven or you can microwave xoxo.

Consistency is key 🔑
I’ve recently switched up my morning routine to incorporate a high intensity workout first thing before the sun is up. This serves as my first workout of the day and is really just meant to get my heart pumping, muscles burning, & jump start my mind. Never had so much energy and mental clarity getting my days started this way🙏🏼🙌🏼
