Let's restart the unhealthy gut by following the 4 R Program-
1. Remove- Remove the bad foods that harm or irritate the gut like caffeine, alcohol, antibiotics, sugar, fried and processed foods, etc.
2. Replace- Replace the bad with good foods that were depleted from the diet for proper digestion and absorption.
3. Reinoculate- Restore with gut friendly bacteria like probiotics, fermented foods like curd, sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir, etc.
4. Repair- Repiar the gut wall lining by including anti-inflammatory foods, fibre, prebiotics, zinc, Omega 3's, etc.

Purple Sauerkraut mash/swallow.  I’m always craving fermented foods so I love trying new ways to incorporate them into my meals. 
I tried this first with white cabbage and absolutely loved it.. *Blend sauerkraut with some water or sauerkraut liquid
*Pour into a pan and cook on low heat stirring as you go along
*Add a thickener of your choice, mix thoroughly and take off heat.
*If using psyllium husk, I prefer to blend a teaspoon with the cabbage before pouring into the pan.  This ☝🏾 was made with a handful of garri/ cassava flakes.

Crustless VEGETABLE QUICHE , I have prepared this gut friendly twist on the classic french quiche with a sides of fresh greens. Petit Plasir is a lovely dish to throw on a weekend with friends and family , cut into convenient portions for delicious packed lunches throughout the week. Eggs provide the perfect proportion of fats , proteins  Vitamins and minerals needed to sustain you throughout your day . 
8 free range eggs 
1/2 cup of almond milk home made 
1 handful of basil 🌿 leaves 
1 thyme sprig, leaves picked 
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 
1/2 teaspoon Celtic sea salt 
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes 
1 1/2 cups of mixed vegetables, such as leek , red onions , garlic ,baby English spinach,courgettes , red capsicum, cherry tomatoes and arugula, I also used mint , and cilantro to garnish . 
Preheat oven 180 , grease a 22cm pie dish or oven proof frying pan .
Whisk eggs in a bowl , then whisk in the almond milk and the herbs 🌿🌿🌿cumin , salt and yeast flakes . 
Evenly scatter the sautéed veggies around the pie dish and pour the egg mixture over the top. 
Transfer to the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes ,or until the quiche is set in the middle and too is brown . 
Enjoy ! 
A great way to use up any vegetables you have sitting in the fridge.

A lot of hard work goes into these events, and Morgan and myself are extremely grateful to you all for your support and faith that you show in us.

We want to get the message out there to the general public that health isn't necessarily black and white, there are credible options which we can all use to get healthier, and to reduce our risk of developing chronic diseases. 
Central to our health is our gut health.

It can no longer be dismissed as rubbish by the ignorant. 
There is far too much research now illustrating it's importance. 
With your help and continued support, we want to play our part to educate our community about how to become healthier using a nutritional and naturopathic approach. 
We think that is a message worth spreading.

A lot of hard work goes into these events, and Morgan and myself are extremely grateful to you all for your support and faith that you show in us. We want to get the message out there to the general public that health isn't necessarily black and white, there are credible options which we can all use to get healthier, and to reduce our risk of developing chronic diseases. For four weeks, I have been trying to eat real whole food to help my gut and stomach issues. Basically, I've been trying  to shop the outside aisles in the grocery store, the produce and meat. I even kept a food diary on my blog to keep me accountable! It was a struggle at first but it is slowly feeling commonplace. My kids still eat a ton of processed food in their lunchboxes, which I feel guilty about. But at the same time, there are only so many hours in the day! I feel that I should serve them really good meals around that and it will even out. Plus, put on your own oxygen mask first. If I am more healthy, I will have more energy during the day and be able to do more for them long-term. Right? Yes? I feel a bit crazy saying that. Thoughts? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I've always struggled with breakfast, it's the time of the day when im still half asleep and feel the most uninspired. This is why I lie in bed at night trailing Pintrest through various glorious and gorgeous smoothie recipes.

Last night I came across a Pumpkin Spice recipe and having made pumpkin for dinner the previous night, thought hey this ones for me! So here we are, an incredibly healthy and unbelievably tasty breakfast!

Aunt Flo is arriving sometime this week, meh, I can feel my body craving sugar! All I want is a big fat chocolate! So to resist the urge I’m doing some research on what foods to incorporate into my diet to help stabilize my cravings and hormones. First up, my Tahini Raspberry Oats. This has got to be one of my FAVOURITE breakfasts! Its super easy to make and is packed full of healthy fats to help keep you fuller for longer. 
A word of warning though, over night oats can be tough on the digestion. I leave my oats to soak over night for at least 12 hours as this makes to them easier to digest when eaten. 
You will be able to tell if you have a weak digestional tract if 10-20mins after you have eaten them you start to feel fatigued. 
Let me know if anyone you try them out and suffer from fatigue.

We spoke a lot about brain and neurological health and I can not stress this enough, but gluten is really something that should be eliminated. However, be careful with the substitutes and read labels carefully there is a lot junk in those products, it's trillions dollar industry. ❌No single dietary protein is a more potent trigger of neurological dysfunction and neurological autoimmunity than gluten, the protein found in wheat. ❌There are a dramatic increase in the number of people sensitive to gluten. Research shows gluten sensitivity has risen sharply in the last 50 years. The gluten you eat today is not the same grain it once was. ❌Gluten has been significant hybridized and demised over the years. Hybridization has created a 'new wheat' ⛔️that appears to trigger immune reactions, especially in the brain and nervous system. Deamidation, which is used by the food processing industry to make wheat water soluble, has been shown to cause a severe inflammatory process in people. ❌The criteria for diagnosing celiac disease and gluten sensitivity are either outdated or incomplete.🔬 HLA-DW2 and HLA-DQ8 celiac genotype are very limited and cannot be used as sole determinants of gluten sensitivity or celiac disease. Many people who do not have the genotypes still have severe reactions to gluten. ❌Second, many people with gluten sensitivity have silent celiac disease, meaning they do not manifest intestinal symptoms. Instead, the immune reaction to gluten is experienced in other tissues, such as the brain, thyroid, joints, skin. ❌Lastly, the most common are of non-intestinal manifestation of gluten sensitivity is the brain and nervous system. ❌Despite the research many physicians do not even understand celiac disease, much less concept such as non-celiac gluten sensitivity, silent gluten sensitivity, or extraintestinal manifestations of gluten sensitivity. Your average gastroenterologist is typically not aware of gluten reactions that do not cause in GI tract disturbances.

contain organic acids that balance intestinal pH, help to absorb the nutrients, vitamins and minerals and help to assimilate food that you consume.  You can also have kefir, yogurt, raw cheese contains both probiotics and SCFA’s that can help heal the gut. Today's dinner was exactly what I've been craving lately, pasta with a creamy sauce but without a irritable bowl as a result the next day. This was gluten free spaghetti with lactose free creme fraiche sauce, bacon and spinach mixed with garlic oil, topped with parmesan cheese.. highly recommended,  highly addictive 🧀🍝😍

Today's dinner was exactly what I've been craving lately, pasta with a creamy sauce but without a irritable bowl as a result the next day. Beefore going paleo I couldn't have imagained anything worse! I had such a sweet tooth and enjoyed my porridge or overnight oats... Now I look forward to my savory breakfasts and enjoy the variety eating savory for breakfast offers and I especially love the difference I have noticed in my energy levels and moods since eating this way.
Todays breakfast was avocado, roast sweet potato and tomato, scrambled egg, cute little kalettes and homemade sunshine kraut. Healthy fats, greens, and a good dose of gut friendly probiotics in the kraut, this has to be one of my favourite ways to start a busy day.

Third day of intermittent fasting this week and I didn’t feel hungry at all so carried on until I did, turned out to be just over 20 hours. Ended it with a protein shake with banana and then did today’s strength workout. Delicious salad and some herring fillets for dinner and for once in my life no urge for something sweet. @marcus.e_72 I think I get my nutrition point today, woo hoo!

🙋🏼‍♀️ Hey guys! Im officially back from my 48 hr social media detox, and let me tell you. It was needed. 👩🏼‍💻I noticed on Friday morning as we were on our way to SoCal that I was getting stressed out, short tempered and overall just being a negative nancy in the car all because my computer was being slow and wouldn’t transfer the giveaway image i wanted post that morning! And before you ask, that’s my usual MO. Editing, emailing and posting content whilst in the car, driving around LA. (my husband being the driver of course) 👨🏽‍✈️ .
So, it was in that very moment of (slight) rage that i thought to myself, now is a better time than ever to switch off from my computer and instagram and just enjoy the people and things that surround me. 📱🙅🏼‍♀️ Stress, angst and anxiety are hugely linked to health problems, especially in the gut. Anxiety in particular is known to contribute to the growth of candida! SO even though my diet changes are of huge importance to me right now, so is my stress management. 💆🏼‍♀️ .
✨ I spent the last 2 days getting some really insightful information from a new book i purchased called ‘FOOD and HEALING’ by Annemarie Colbin. Although this book is a bit dated it talks about food in a way I had never known it to be. They cover the life force of food, food combining, preparations of food, food in relation to mood, why we get cravings, quantity vs quality and soo much more. Im already 1/3 of the way through and just want everyone i know to read this! 📖 If you’re looking for a new book to dive into, then this would be high on my list. 🙌🏼 .
🌱 Ok now to the bowl - this is a warm veggie bowl with spinach, mushrooms, and bell pepper that i cooked in @bonafideprovisions bone broth & mct oil (for that gut health.) I topped it with bee pollen, tahini, and radish sprouts served with a side of avocado and @farmhouseculture sauerkraut.

INGREDIENTS:
4 eggs
¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons full-fat, canned coconut milk
3 tablespoons melted coconut oil
3 tablespoons applesauce
½ cup coconut flour
1 tablespoon coconut sugar
¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS:In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, applesauce, coconut milk and coconut oil and set aside.In a smaller bowl, whisk the coconut flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt until well combinedAdd the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk until no lumps remain and allow mixture to sit for 5 minutes.Heat a large skilled over medium heat.Add coconut oil to skillet and fry pancakes, flipping after about 3 minutes.Serve topped with your favorite pancake toppings

Pumpkin, chia and buckwheat muffins! 
This is one of those gut healing sugar free recipes that is supporting my gut health after christmas 😊 
I have this in the arvo at 4pm when I start getting nibbly and couple it with some almond butter for a little protein hit 😋 
Heres the recipe 💖 
1 cup almond meal
2 cups buckwheat flour
1 cup grated pumpkin
2 eggs
2 tbsp olive oil
4 drops stevia liquid 
1 tsp baking powder

Combine the pumpkin, almond meal, buckwheat flour and baking powder in a bowl.
Separate the eggs and to the yolks add in the olive oil and stevia. Mix and add to the dry ingredients thoroughly.
Add water in small batches, mixing the ingredients well until you reach the consistency of a muffin mix.
Whip the egg whites until they begin to form soft peaks and then add into the mixture. 
Place into muffin liners or baking paper and cook in the oven for 15 minutes at 180°C.
Let sit for 10 minutes and enjoy with some alomd or peanut butter, yumm 😋😋😋😚

Sorry I havent been posting many recipes lately! Im tweaking my diet after christmas to encourage healthy bacteria growth in my gut. This means I'm really staying clear of ALL sweet recipes which I know people love aha but mostly i'm doing this because I particularly have issues with skin and I found after christmas; I ate dairy, gluten  and sugar ( no good for me); my skin has just become so inflamed which anyone who deals with skin issues knows how hard this can be! To me this signifies a deeper problem in my gut that can only be dealt with by starving the beast of sugar ( goodbye all sweetness) which is known for feeding bad bacteria in your gut. Admittedly I want women to feel as if healthy eating is achievable and fun but I also don't want to do it at the expense of my own health; so my recipes will start following how I need my diet to be in order for my gut to heal. I understand that skin problems are not everyones concern so cutting out sugar in all forms competely may seem erratic but for me its always what allows my body to react and heal best from inflamation; which is most important to me 😊 so basically my recipes shall mostly just be sugar free, dairy free, gluten free- gut healing recipes until I feel like I have a handle on my health again xx

One of my ALL TIME FAVORITES 😋. Ginger Chicken Stir-fry. It's #paleo #aip #whole30 and #sibo friendly!!! It also tastes as good as it looks 😉

What you'll need:
1.5-2 lbs of Meat (I used chicken but it is also good with salmon or steak)
2-3 Fresh Broccoli Florets
1/2 cup Coconut Aminos
2 Egg Yolks
1 tbsp Grated Ginger Root
2 tbsp Coconut Oil *Extra add-on's you may like: cauliflower rice, scrambled egg pieces 🍳 ,cooked carrots 🥕 
Start by heating up a large frying pan. Place 1 tbsp of coconut oil in the pan and melt. Add fresh grated ginger root and broccoli florets. Cook until the broccoli is a brighter shade of green.

Remove broccoli from pan and cook chosen meat. Cut the meat into small bite sized pieces. Remove meat from pan.

In a separate bowel, add two egg yolks and coconut aminos. Whisk together until blended. Add egg mixture to your empty, hot pan and stir constantly. The mixture will turn a lighter brown and start to thicken. Once thick add broccoli/ginger mixture and meat to the pan. Stir.

Cover pan and let simmer on low heat for 10 minutes or until broccoli is your desired texture. If you would like a rice substitute, add grated and cooked cauliflower rice. You can also add scrambled eggs and cooked carrots for a fuller stir-fry feel.

Eat and enjoy!! 🙌🏼 .

I love making healthy sweet treat recipes because I avoid refined sugar like the plague as it gives me soo many negative consequences that I dont find it to be a treat at all 😣 Thats why I make so many of these different yummy recipes because I also believe in moderation and enjoying indulgence here and there! My few rules when coming up with wholesome recipes are that it should be gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free and the ingredients used should be as close to the original wholefood as possible. Mostly I do this because im intolerant to dairy and gluten however I also find all these foods to be inflammatory so they could leave you feeling bloated and thats not the goal when eating healthy sweet treat recipes; so I personally leave them out of my recipes 😋 👍
Anyways Ive been working on a healthy choc chip cookie recipe for a while and ive finally done a great one so here it is! 
Healthy choc chip cookies -1 mashed banana -1tsp of cinnamon -1/2 cup of oats -1/2 cup of coconut flour -2 tbsp of maple syrup -a dash of vanilla essence -1/2 cup of 80-90% dark chocolate (chopped into small bits) -1 tbsp of coconut oil -1 egg  Combine in food processor until mixed. Cook for 10 mins on 180 degrees celcius fan forced. The easiest way to stay healthy is to stay prepared. I try to regularly make home made dips that are delicious to sit in the fridge 😉 Brad and I have been playing around with different variations of dips but one of my all time faves is home made hummus! 😊Couple this with some precut veggies in the fridge and you have a simple and easy snack for when you're nibbly at home 😊 
Hummus; -2×400g of tinned drained chickpeas -1 and 1/2 tbps of unhulled tahini -A drizzle of olive oil -A few pinches of pink himalayan sea salt
-Juice of 2 lemons -4 to 6 cloves of garlic(depending on your taste preference) -Add all ingredients in food processor until it is a smooth texture. P.s In order to keep for as long as possible make sure its covered in some olive oil at all times so it doesn't dry out.
